hi all,
I have a PDA2K that i'd like to edit the extended ROM of.
I've downloaded the ROM updates, but i'd like to customise the contents of ms_.nbf.
does anyone know the password?
if so, what tools do i need to get in there and edit the file?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance !!
Hi,
I don't think i was clear enough in my original post, but can anyone at all help me with this ?
i've downloaded the lastet ROM update from club-imate:
ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.162 WWE
I'm using WM 2003 ROM Image editor, so as I can customise my EX_ROM.
i've tried this password to try and unlock my ms_.nbf 0x20040522.
But it is the incorrect one.
anyone have any ideas ?
there's a free cookie for the person that helps me gain access to my EX_ROM
The program you've mentioned is not compatible with the PDA2K (Blueangel) roms. Therefore you cannot use it to edit your extended rom. I actually don't know a program that would do it for PDA2K. Sorry...
i had a feeling that would be the case
i've been able to unlock my EX_ROM, no problem.
I can create my own cab files, but what i CAN'T do is repack the ms_.nbf file, so as i can upload it back to my device.
would you know how to do that ?
hmmm, i mustn't have been logged in when i posted the above reply
Well, keep a copy of yor extended rom in the unpacked formatd ( cabs, autorun.exe, config.txt etc ) on your computer's harddrive. Once you've edited the extended rom, it will stay that way on your handheld until the next rom update, in other words everytime you hardreset your device the new edited extended rom will be excuted. And once you upgrade your rom, you can still copy the files back to your extended rom. It is kind of complicated and not the best way to resolve the problem but unfortunately the only way for now
yes, that way would work with my device.
problem i have is, that i'm building this as an SOE for a large corporation, so I need to deploy my image to many devices, making it a real pain in the hole.
anyways, thanks for your help thus far .
Hi.
I'm having some serious problems running WM5 on my SPV M2000 (Blue Angel). Internet Explorer keeps crashing, doesn't browse...bluetooth isn't recieving files from my PC, camera closes on its own, MSN Mobile not working at ALL...etc.
I want to remove this AKU3.5 ROM and return back to my previous WM2003SE ROM from Orange or even Imate. I downloaded the Orange V2.5 ROM update but failed to initialize the update process since the Country ID was incorrect for some odd reason.
Guys can you please help me out of it. Just tell me the safest and easiest way to downgrade back to the original ROM. And is possible that when i downgrade, i can install the Imate PDA2k ROM on my Orange SPV M2000?
I'd really really appreciate your help. Looking forward to your replies!
My device information details are:
ROM version : 5.04.09.WWE
ROM date : 11/02/06
Radio Version : 1.13.00
Protocol Version : 1337.42
ExtROM version : *empty* (blank)
i would make use of wm5 maupgrade_noID utility to flash the .nbf file of wm3 back to the original rom.

Yeah hi. Thanks for the reply, could you please give me a step by step procedure how am i suppose to do it? Where do i get the files from and how do i go about it.
I'd be grateful man!
As i see you use helmi aku 3.5 rom.
when u extracted the file out of the zip file u initially downloaded, u should see a folder name PH20B1. It includes maupgrade_noid utility there.
so basically what u do is extract the original rom (nk.nbf) into that PH20B1 folder, then put your device to bootloader mode, flash it as normal.

Actually i didn't install Helmi AKU3.5 ROM. I bought my phone used, and had this rom already installed. Now i want to get back to my original factory ROM. And i can't seem to get how to do it
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades
link above lists all the original rom for each device / operator.
please see the attachment, it's the utility to upgrade.
for further information please read wiki though.
Thank you imatrix. Will go through the link you provided. Thanks for all your help!
By the way...is it possible for me to flash an Imate ROM on an Orange SPV M2000? I find Imate ROMs more stable than Orange.
ooo?/
I think, you will have a serious problem wwhen you go back to wm2003 mate.. you're bluetooth will be useless, I don't know why and how,,.. I tried wm2003 downgrade last time, and I was worried because when I try to turn my bt on, it keeps may saying that the bluetooth software is expired..bla..bla..and I can't turn my bluetooth on.. though I haven't tried installing abt stack, but I guess same thing will happen.. but its for you to find out.. theres a very comprehensive details on downgrading/upgrading roms on blueangel wiki.. to get rid of that country I'd error, just use maupgradeutnoid.exe which you can also download from there
Here's a PRODUCTION 'T-Mobile Wing' WM6 OS dump in it's imgfs_raw_data form.
I recommend using ImgfsTools2rc2b to reconstruct the NB, which you may then be able to flash on a P4350 using the awizard tools... until such time as someone produces a Hermes / Trinity style custom bootloader / RUU.
I don't have a P4350 here to test unfortunately.

Hey,
This is really cool that we've finally got some progress on the wm6 scene for the herald. Anyways i own an HTC P4350 (herald) so could you like tell me how to flash this onto my device by converting your data to OS.nb etc etc.
Thanks
ImgfsTools2rc2b:
How to create the NB:
- Get a regular P4350 RUU, extract using WinRAR, find RUU-signed.nbh
- Use NBHextract to get the OS NB file
- Use NBsplit to split this file
- Use IMGFStoNB to create the new payload file
- Use NBmerge to create the new NB
How to flash a NB to the P4350 using awizard:
YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. It might work, it might not. You should be able to flash the regular P4350 RUU back on if all else fails (hopefully).
i havent got an exam for 3 weeks now so i'll cook you guys up a ROM
anyone here wanna test? ill need baout 5 people who know what they are doing and dont mind (possibly) bricking thier phone
I can cook a NB, no problem, but is there a way to flash unsigned files on the Herald?
Since only the OS partition is being flashed, there shouldn't be a bricking danger.
I am prepared to be a tester, i dont know much about ROM cooking though but I know enough to test....
When cooking the ROM will you be using the extRom from T-mobile or just the OS?
Presumably you will not include any IPL or SPL?
Also worth noting is I have 5.04.0001 IPL and 5.04.0000 SPL from the latest ROM.
What is the IPL & SPL of the Wing?
Nice to hear the Herald is finally getting some love. Best of luck!
sorry, just downloaded the zip, what is in there is only a part of what you need for wm6 to boot.
the imgfs partition (which is there) contains all the files and registry etc
the XIP partition (which is missing) contains the kernel and information on how to boot to the OS.
whithout the XIP (found in .nb and .nbh's) this thing will never boot.
and no the WM5 xip wont work.
Ah crap, my bad, leave it with me.
nevermind....
Flashing an unsigned ROM / Backup didn´t work for my German P4350.
Mine is stuck at the Bootloader for now, so please be sure of how you get things done. I Don´t want anyone to be in that **itty situaton of having to wait for the official Romupdate. ( There is no published German one by now )
Maybe this is different with WWE roms ? I dont know exactly...
Where to take WWE Rom?
ImgFS Tools Version 2
In my edition:
In my edition ASerg-Write-OS-ExtRom-Herald.Zip
do you think I could flash this to my wizard?
not a chance
Guys, don't you need the XIP section ? ...
If you do, please upload a wm6 OS.nb and i will give it to you.
stucked at the Bootloader too

if they had an .nb then it allready has an XIP, the problem is that they have the imgfs.bin but not he nb so no XIP part
Here are two dumps of teh XDA terra (german)
1.: taken by awizard = 57MB
2.: taken by pdocread = 62MB (pdocread -l = real size of sectors 0x3e00000 = 62MB)
1.: http://rapidshare.com/files/29976175/teraa_awizard.rar
2.: http://rapidshare.com/files/32745275/os62.nb
Good luck
Dear all,

If you have an extended ROM in nbh format - just flash like you would any other ROM. If you have a complete ROM to flash (which includes the extended ROM) you should check out the ROM kitchens - Dutty's nbh tool will extract the (amongst others - extended ROM) nbs and also let you recompile an nbh to flash solely from you extended ROM nb.
Check out the ROM kitchen threads.

Yup.
If you have a ROM with OS, splash1, splash2, ExtROM and Radio, Dutty's nbh will split the nbh into all of the component nbs. Take the ExtROM - use Dutty's tool - just including the extROM nb - it will create an nbh for you.

You can dump your rom. Please have a look at the wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Herald_HowtoDumpRom). I haven't dumped my original o2 rom, so i can't help you with problems there.
You don't need to save OS important files. Because they are stored in the ROM and you can't restore them back to your device (in an easy way).
If you want to save your CABs, you should have downloaded them before installing them on your device so you should still have them on your computer.
For Hard-SPL please use the search! There are a lot of threads which have Hard-SPL and SPL, IPL and so on as topic.
