A possible fix for GPRS problems.
I have noticed that if I boot my Alpine into “safe mode” provided by the new SPB Pocket Plus, my GPRS works great. Normally I would have a problem of the GPRS only working after a fresh reboot and then not connect a second time unless I was really lucky.
I deleted the reg key, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\CallerID] and it seems to work fine now.

Well I got a GPRS problem to, but I think I found a solution.
I must disconnect the GPRS connection BEFORE to switch the mobile off. If not, I cannot reconnect as you...

A while ago I upgraded my ROM, and didn't install all that crap at the first boot. GPRS was working fine after that, so I thought it was the upgraded ROM. The other day I formatted it again, but let it install everything. GPRS was having that "reconnecting for the second time" issue... So I knew it had something to do with some of that software... but which? I wasn't feeling like formatting it again...
anyway, I'm trying this, and see if it works for me.

When i want to connect GPRS network on my htc touch diamond, my phone connect EDGE instead of gprs and the E icon show on taskbar !

A month ago i bought an att tilt from ebay and i live in Turkey. The sim lock works still but i can not connect via GPRS although i made the settings manuelly. I am ready to pay 15 usd to who can solve my problem , many thanks.

install this attached cab then go to setting->connections->connection setup

I bought the same phone and I have exactly the same problem in Spain with spanish operator Movistar: the phone and the sms works but when trying to access the internet with the explorer I cannot get any webpage. The icon on the topbar shows that there is a connection 3G but still I cannot open any page.
I installed the file provided by trublu but still does not work. Moreover, this file configures the connection with some data that do not correspond to the Movistar´s configuration.
Please, any help or idea will be welcomed.

I have already tried that connection settings but it did not work. You know this device is meanless without internet connection. I really need help pls

As I wrote before, I am experiencing same problem than you.
Have you try to install your sim card in a phone which is already working with your operator ? If it works, at least you know that there is not a problem with your sim card or your plan with the operator.
I did this test with the phone of a friend. In his phone my sim card was able to navegate. With his sim card in my phone I cannot navigate, therefore I know for sure that the problem is the configuration or something else in my phone.
Please If you find something out let me know.

did you try deleting the proxy in the registry?
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
look for the line that says
"EnableAutoDetect"
and delete it.

dude i tried that but still i have same problem. I uploaded the screenshots when i attempt to connect via GPRS. If you can solve this problem , i will send your paypal 30 box because otherwise i have to sell my Kaiser. I hope your best dude pls

which rom are you using?

Try a hard reset. Start>settings>system>clear storage.

i changed the rom to Dutty's TouchFlo AT&T beta 2 also tried a hard reset , but still getting the same warning as i uploaded on the first page of this topic.

i think a little registry modification will solve my problem , but i have no idea about where to start

I am sure this isn't the problem, but are you sure your plan is data enabled? You could always pop your SIM into a friends phone to verify. Other than that, you could always try reflashing to official ROMs to see if they work.

When I did the trick with the registry I was using the original Att tilt Rom.
Now I am using the last Rom from duttys and still is working.
As I sugested before try to put in your phone a sim card that is already working ( in data connections) in another telephone. This will tell you if the problem is with your phone or with your data plan.

Spb GPRS Monitor - help.

Hi All,
When I install Spb GPRS Monitor, I get couple of extra items in the middle of the today screen, one is the battery status and the other is the slider to control screen brightness.
Eversince I did a hard reset of my device, the screen brightness slider does not work. At first I thought it was something to do with Battery status app, as it was new to me. But then I did another hard reset and just install Spb GPRS Monitor but no luck.
Any one got any ideas?

Are you using a Kaiser, and what version is your HTCUtil.dll?

Yes its a Kaiser on UK O2.
There is a HTCUtil.dll dated 04-Oct-07 and there is HTCUti1.dll dated 29/09/07.
Not sure how to get versin numbers.....I think I'll need Resco explorer or some thing?

Actually, no idea. You have the latest HTCUtil.dll that is properly updated to work for the Kaiser, and if you're using the SPB GPRS Monitor that came with the Kaiser, it should just work.

Actually I just remembered that and installed it from the cd-rom and its working now.

GPRS Question

How on earth do you turn it off for good until switched back on. My orange is connecting with gprs and you have to go up to the title bar to turn it off how do i make it so GPRS dose not or will never work until switched on.

Try forcing the phone to use gsm mode only...should be in the network settings.

..and hopefully a registry tweak will show up in the future.

you are welcome. this utility is quite well-known for the community in this forum. it's proven to be working. for most of us, we have unlimited local GPRS plan. we don't care the GPRS usage report by SPB GPRS, so we seldom install it. Instead, we more perfer the small NoData utility.

Application to monitor EDGE usage?

I'm wondering if there is any applications (free) that monitors EDGE / GPRS usage, and hopefully logs them aswell.
Had a tiny application "minimoni" for my blackberry and it really was great to know how much you actually used.

Try Spb GPRS Monitor. It does exactly what you need. Monitors traffic, logs it and works perfectly with EDGE.
Make sure you download the latest version and also that it mentions "Spb" as well because simple GPRS Monitor (another application) doesn't seem to work properly on the Diamond (it loses all recorded data after soft reset).

Hum... Depends who sold you the diamond apparently! I bought mine from Orange France, and on the CD that came with it, I have a folder called "Additional Applications" .... but it's EMPTY If someone could PM me to help me out here, that would be great!
