Business card receipt

Hi Gurus,
I have been using Nokias before and they have an option to send contact and its details as SMS.
Now..If i receive a sms from a Nokia phone which has the contact details in it to my tytn 2, i can't see the contact details..in Tytn 2
Is it because of difference in OS?
Any fix...?

Yes, that's because of the different OS and because there is no standard format which every system uses (as always today ). I don't think that there is a solution for that, at least not via SMS. Vie email there is the vcard format (.vcf) which is wildly supported.

When you get such an SMS and open it (and dont see any details) do you see an "Accept" button in the left bottom corner? in the place where normally you would see a "Reply" button? Reason for asking is - some one sent me a contact via SMS today. On opening the message, I saw only a blank screen but noticed the "Accept" in the left bottom corner. I tapped on it and found that the contact info (all details) was addeded in teh contacts list (although the message itself showed me only a blank screen)!!!!

I tried this yesturday on win mobile 6, from nokia e65 and it said :
You received (something like vcard or contact) from SenderName, do you want to add NAmeFromCard to your contacts?
So it works great for me, stock ROM. But i couldn't receive calendar vCal card
IS there anything that might help this be done?

Mass SMS/MMS not working

If I want to send an sms or mms to more than 1 recipient, my phone used to easily duplicate the message to all persons selected in the "to" field, now it only sends to the first selected user. I just had an issue with my fingermenu app not showing the middle gray bar for answering calls so i reinstalled it and all is well, what cab should I get for reinstalling SMS/MMS to see if that clears it? Running AthineOS ME, see specs in sig

Can't add mail address (or SMS number) to "old" contact

Hi
I'm trying to add a mail address from a received mail to an "old" contact; when I tap on the address i can choose between "Send email" or "Save in contacts", but the save options let me just save it as a NEW contact.
Same thing happens when I try to add a number from an SMS to an old contact...
Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Annoys me as well, I guess that this is one of the great features that the designers over at HTC came up with.
Actually you can do it for SMSs from "unknown" numbers, by tapping the SMS (from a unsigned number) in the TouchFlo SMS tab you will get a contact page for that phone number. If you then slide the tab selector left to the contact card icon, you can hit save at the right soft button. Then the contacts list will open and you can choose an existing contact to add the number to, and even choose what kind of number this is (work, office, private, etc)
The problem is that if you hit an email from the TouchFlo email tab the regular winmo messages application is launched instead of the TouchFlo messages application used for SMS.
The ideal situation would be that emails where handled in the same way as SMSs

paalkr, you are right, in this way you can save sms number to existing contact... Thanks, it's a good workaround!
I hope someone will find a "fix" for email addressess, too....

ROM FULLY without HTC messaging

Lo all, I know you'll probably say 'use the search function' but I have and can;t find and full answer.
Question:
Is there a way to fully disable HTC messaging and not just so you can press the all messages buttonand see windows messaging program.
So if you are on Sense Messaging tab and you recieve a message from someone, you can click on it and it will take you to WM threaded messages for that person?
Hope someone can clear this up, I'm so confused with what these 'disable HTC messaging' actually do and how much they actually disable.

But these still have HTC messaging when you click on the SMS. I have been using Xanny's ROMS.
The only WM messaging they have is when you click on 'all messages' button.

With HTC Messaging
Without HTC Messaging
With HTC MESSAGING + MSVC
Without HTC Messaging + MSVC

I suggest to check or learn before you write things which are not true.
Without HTC Messaging means, that default SMS program is not HTC Messaging. However this program is called by other Manila's features. For example contacts from Call History. Once run, you can have possibility to switch into SMS of the person etc etc.
Note, that WM has build in call history, contact list etc - those features are still not replaced making HTC messaging stil alive.
HOwever, versions 'without HTC messaging' has the same functionality as stand alone mod: replaces all HTC Messaging shortcuts found in system by Mobile Outlook. And yes, it calls MO while hitting SMS from Manila SMS tab.

I also have tried to find a solution that disables more of the HTC UI but no luck. I would also like to disable their contact manager!

with thinkblu method, there is one and only bug only, it didn't show bubbles showing how many unread message.

Surname first in SMS inbox?

Hello,
I am using HTC Diamond 2 for 3 months already. Recently i had restored from backup all my contacts and since then in Htc SMS all names start from First name then Surname. Before Surname was the first.
When i am creating new sms message and search for contact all of them are in Surname,Firstname form. But when i point one i need it is changing by itself to Firsname Surname.
Is there any settings or tweak to change this? I need Surname to be the first, it is more convenient for me.

I do not know how to do all contacts at once, but individually you can go to Windows (Not Manila) Contact manager and select a contact\edit\file as.

No, this does not work. I already have all contacts in Contact Manager as Surname, Firstname. Same in HTC SMS when i browse for contact to create new sms.
The name's order changes by it self in a second, right after i had add it to new sms. Also i had tried to use Vito SMS chat and there is no such problem, in all names Surname are first one. So, i guess, it is problem with HTC SMS.
Any clue?

In htc people tab all people, select contact, edit contact, scroll to bottom, select more, on 2nd page click in the field "File as". You will need to do each contact individually.

Thanks Codehunter for reply, but your answer is basically the same as Bruce's ones. I had already all my contacts with FileAs field looks like Surname, Firstname and this does not help me.
