anyone try USB joystick with Athena? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo Accessories

I got 4in1 cable already.
As i know, the AcerN50 support usb host and usb joystick as well.
Anyone try it with athena?

I am interested in this as well because I would like to easily be able to navigate the advantage in the car.

This sounds like a nice idea
My idea was that when I buy the HTC Advantage Ill run a lot of old NES/SNES/SEGA games on it, a small bluetooth gamepad would kick ass to have for this

any emulators work??? ive had trouble with all the ones ive tried they can never see roms or just crash all worked on prev xda's (universal blue angel) would love to know if any work especially snes gba megadrive nes anybody know one please PM me Thanks SPZERO

I would so love to try SmartGamepad when I get my X7500

i think the bluetooth gamepad sucks but i will sell u mine if you want it for $25plus shipping

it's great that this thread has appeared as only today did the idea hit me to try using a usb joypad with a genesis emulator. however I tried connecting a cheap Game joypad and although the lights powered up there was no response to any key presses, either in standard menus or when attempting to assign keys in Picodrive. has anyone had any success using any joypads? or does anyone know of other, better emulators with which the joypad might work?
id love for this to work - it gives the potential of having a little pocket genesis to plug into a monitor too!

Can we turn Kaiser into diNovo mini?

After seeing diNovo mini in action, it's got me so aroused!
This triggers me to think about bringing WM device to be a more interactive media device, especially, something like Logitech's diNovo mini for HTPC.
I'm just wondering if any developer can come up with an app that connects Kaiser to the PC via bluetooth, and turn it into an input device with the qwerty keyboard and touchscreen as a touchpad D best if this can be integrated with Sideshow! LOL). Silly?
p.s. Hey! I know I'm just daydreaming~but if anyone has the same ideas, interests, and ability to make this happen, summon your strengths!

Actually, I've been looking for a way to do this myself The closest I've got, is using remote desktop connected to the computer through WiFi. It's fun, but unpractial and not quite the solution i was looking for.
So, this possible?
I use "Signal" a program for controlling iTunes via Wifi which works well as i use itunes to stream music to different parts of the house. Its also skinable too!
In the past with my Blue Angel not only did i use that but also used Novii Remote for Stereo, TV, Sky, DVD etc and also as a remote for lights in my house.
Almost like House hold universal remote!
I have found a program called salling clicker that will control almost any media program. It also does mouse control and can send the keyboard input to the computer.
The problem is the mouse control and keyboard input are separate parts of the program so for example if I want to type in the address bar I have to go into mouse mode, move the cursor up to the bar and tap, then go into the message mode and type the address, then back to mouse mode. If it were all tied in together it would be the ultimate program for that. They may make an improvement on it too I haven't checked lately.
BTW, this is a much better deal than just the Denovo Mini because with the phone you have the screen to look at when browsing for files etc.
I found a script somebody did for salling clicker that puts keyboard and mouse together. It's written for the TyTN but works on my TyTNII. I'm also going to look into tweaking it this weekend! Looks like I need to return my Dinovo Mini.

P.S. I am aware of the fact, that I do overact a bit on it, but You gotta try this to believe. screen is a touchpad, while slide- out keys are mapped as a proper keyboard. a must have imho.

First you have to get the program called 'Salling Clicker' - it installs on your computer that you want to control.
When you have it installed and your PDA setup to connect using wifi or bt you just have to add the custom script onto your computer in the My Documents/My Clicker Scripts folder.
Then add the script using the programs menu on the computer and connect using your phone.

9.2" touchscreen headrest monitor

Assuming the USB input for the touchscreen works with the Athena, this could be a nice in-car dash accessory. It would make GPS/map use really sweet, and phone dialing easier. $195.
Anyone want to test it?
http://www.digital4cheap.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/SFV/31341/vpid/3917049/vpcsid/0/rid/124129
that would be pretty cool
I keep talking myself out of buying it. At $195 its almost cheap enough to get even if the touchscreen part didn't work with the Athena... but then I would talk myself into getting a mini-PC, and at that point I could have just bought a cheap laptop.

as long as the usb output act's like a standard pc mouse it works. and thats where the problem starts the manual (see the grey box at right side at the bottom) says somthing from 'install the usb drivers first!' so i think there is no luck with these thing. elsewhise a cool idea as an addon in the car.
greet's mad
I figured it would come down to a driver issue for the touchscreen. Still an off-chance it might work out-of-the-box, or that the company offers a WM driver.
for me, i think that would be a bit expensive, i bought a car headrest monitor at Eonon.com, which just need $175USD!

Driver Wanted (Cool Project)

Hi Everyone... If you read any of my past posts, you will know I LOVE my Tilt... highyl reccomend it to anyone... My one biggest complaint is when it comes to gaming, the controls suck... I have wlays loved using my phone as a portable video games device using various emulators... All the way from my first Motorola MPX 200 .... I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to use a Wii Mote as a wireless gaming controller... Somehow connect it via bluetooth and use its buttons to control..
I have "cheated" already and done something simmilar using a Bluetooth Keyboard... Worked great, but lugging around a full sized keyboard is a bit much... I can keep a Wiimote in the car (as I already do for when I am at a friends)... The way the screen til on the phone is perfect.. So, basically I jsut need the wiimote to work like a keyboard, and use the Emulators software to map the buttons myself... Any suggestions? Would I need a driver or is there another route?? I am not worried about using the itnternal sensors or anything.. just basic up down left right a b button stuff... The "Cool" factor to get this working would over the top..
Of course, the phone is the Tilt.. I am still using the standard AT&T 6.0 Rom that came on the phone with all the usual tweaks... I use Pocket Nester to emulate the NES... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
i dont know about the wiimote but if you want to try, activate bluetooth and search for devices, press 1 and 2 on the wiimote. if it asks for a code, try 0000.
otherwise you can buy this device http://zeemote.com/
I'm not sure about winmo, but I know for desktop there are a ton of ways to use the wii-mote, both wired and wirelessly. It would be really cool to use on on the tilt, but I think we would need to create drivers first.

Snesoid + ps3 controller or 360 controller

I am using the official Motorola otg cable and trying to map buttons in snesoid but while the directional buttons map normally when I try to map the regular face buttons it just says unknown. I have the same experience with a ps3 controller and a 360. Does anyone have insight on this?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I had a similar issue with two wiimotes with CCs attached. Some of the keys mapped as "unknown" but they did actually work ingame. Try mapping them all without worrying about the unknowns and see if it works.
Have exactely the same problem here, and keys dont work either exept for the direcional DPAD input. Any advice?

I'm experiencing the exact same situation, I've tried with a 360 controller, ps3 controller, and a plain logitech ps3 still usb controller that the system won't even recognize. main reason i got the otg cable was for this functionality, oh well. btw are you rooted? which method did you use to upgrade to 3.1? do you have the 3G xoom or wifi only?
Hey there,
Got a wifi.
Found out that the problem is just emulator specific, in the N64 and one PSX emulator the controller works as described.
When using fpse it works perfectly and I can play games without any problems: in the Settings it tells me the key number (192 for example) instead of unknown. Must be some kind of problem in the app-key handling I think.
Tried to change the keyboardlayout of the Controller, but I cant get it to work with the other emu's.
Regards
it's there any way to map de directional buttons (cross) and the analog stick in the same setting??? there are games that are unplayable without the directionals buttons and the analog stick at the same time for example brave fencer musashi(psx) or vagrant story and any game that use the dualshock control

GTA 3 and wireless 360 Controller

I have the 360 adapter that I use via the OTG cable. It works, but kind of?
I can scroll and access menus just fine, but no such success in game. Any ideas?
Have a similar problem with my ps3-wireless sixaxis controller... also connected via usb-otg... walking and driving works - but not perfect: f. e. viewing (up & down) is inverted - and you can't press the horn :'(

It does but have you figured out the buttons for starting missions and locking on to different targets? Can't figure them out myself... :-/

I hate when someone says something "works" but doesn't elaborate. It would help many people out.
Post your setups guys so that we can get our GTA on this weekend.
I wonder if my WiiMote controller would work.....
I have tried 2 generic wired game pads and a wired sidewinder joystick, all work with my emus, but not for GTA. Just walking/steering like mentioned before.
Same here, many pads but no one working with GTA

I'm going to try Droidmote right now. Droidmote Client is free and Droidmote server is $2.10 in the market. You install the client on your phone (hopefully it's an Android) and the server on your tablet.
Theoretically you should be able to use your phone as a remote for GTA. I will try it and then post my configuration. I hope this works.
