SlingPlayer Mobile any good? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

I was thinking about getting the desktop box when I saw they had the Pocket PC edition, and the wing is on the compatibility list. Has anyone tired this product? This is a trial, and it's not that much to buy $40 CND.

It works great for me and I only have edge. It's an excellent product. Especially if you have an unlimited data plan.

I use that as well for all my divx and music. I don't have a tv tuner. If you mention that you might as well mention mythtv.org too.

AT&T Refub Tilts are out

I was thinking of going for one. They are only 149.
Should I just wait and forego? I have an 8525 that I upgraded to WM6 and and I just changed the case on it and it works like a champ, at least for now.)
You you guys think with the driver issues I should wait for the next new device or go for the refurb.

150 isnt bad for the device.. if ur into watching movies on your phone stick to 85..

I do use my slingbox and I watch movies and Star TreK TOS eppys.
I guess I better stick with it.
I can't believe they'd eff up that bad and screw up on the market base they established on the 8525.
DAYUM.
Do yo u know what the next device is?
where?
i am not thrilled with the driver situation, but my tilt is better for me in many ways than my old 8125...where can i pick up one for 149? my gf would love this as a bday gift.
150 !!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i want it for 150...can i return it for a refurb please....
I bought my 8925 new for $125 after rebates. Had to sign up for a new AT&T plan though. Have to be a new AT&T customer.
Hey Xultar, come on over. Despite the driver fever I'm telling you flat out that the Kaiser is better than the 8525. I've used it for hours on end streaming my Slingboxes over WiFi and 3G without issue. I also play videos (encoded at 320x240 with bitrates under 500kps) that I've used with all my portable gear from Archos units to iPAQ's and they play just fine on the Kaiser as well.
I'd be more concerned with the lower volume on bluetooth ear pieces compared to the 8525, it's useable but a little irratating that it's not top notch.
The unit has been so stable that I've not needed to flash from the stock Kaiser rom, just using a bunch of cabs and Kaiser Tweak. The GPS is really an awesome addition, worth the trade-up alone in my book. I looked into insurance and it was more than $149 so when ATT had a Thanksgiving sale, I picked up a Tilt for $149 and keep it in the box as my insurance. If I do put it in service, I will flash it for sure, prolly to Sleuth's v1.1 as I like it the most, slim and solid.
If you do it, I'm betting that you will be happy.
ordered mine on ebay 2 days ago. Pretty reasonable price being from Canada
... is that 150 on a contract? I'm in Canada
newegg.com has it for cheap too.. 2yr contracts newegg's are BRAND NEW.. but u kno what refurbs arent bad.. 1yr warranty on them
That's about what I got mine for on sale, after rebate, & with a two-year contract.
I just don't know if I can. I'm really concerned about the driver issue and just keeping what I have working. I can't live without my slingbox or video Star Trek TOS eppys. Plus the bluetooth on the 8525 was to low for me. I couldn't imagine it being lower.
What is coming down the pike? Maybe I will go for it. I just need to think. I also need to find out how many upgrades I get a year. That may impact it as well.

Selling my HTC Touch Diamond

I have had this phone for about 2 days now. Absolutely LOVE the phone. Too bad the speaker sucks and the mic mediocre, compared to my BlackBerry 8320. I cannot find a way to boost audio. After some research, I found that this is how the HTC Diamond comes from factory, and this is the standard for Pocket PC Windows Mobile. Unacceptable by me.
So here I am. Selling my beloved Diamond after 2 days. Oh well. I thought switching from BlackBerry after 7 years of loyalty would be awesome, but not at all.
I am in Houston, TX
Bought if from Plemix.com for $677 with a discount code.
I'll sell it for $677 to cover my cost. I'll include free FedEx ground shipping.
I'll leave the Garmin Mobile XT GPS software (sooo cooool) that I put on this phone yesterday.
Any takers?

I might be -- live in PA -- but I'm concerned about whether I'll have any reception here -- how has your GSM and UMTS been in TX?
I have to agree with that PayPal statement as well.
PayPal is the devil himself (or herself. More likely to be herself).
And as far as reception in TX goes, I have perfect reception in Houston. No luck on UMTS because TMO doesn't support 3G anywhere except NYC for now. It does have a 1700MHz option, which is quite amazing, but ofcourse, doesn't mean anything in TX.

Please help!!

Please help. I am torn between getting the Apple Iphone and the HTC Touch Diamond 2. I think i'm set on the diamond 2 but I've read about a lot of niggly problems with it which is preventing me from making the step. For example, the mp3 player.
Is it really that good?
Any advice is hugely appreciated!
MP3 player? well let me tell you one thing, i had 2 ipods one for the office and one for home.
NOW I am afraid that they have become obsolete to me, since i got my 32GB memory card. TD2 will do it! but bear in mind that you will be putting some pressure on your battery if you are using the device for the gps, phone and mp3.
Anyway i bought myslef xpal xp2000 just in case i run out of power.
Anyway getting back to your question, there is nothing wrong withthe mp3 and if you are not happy with the default player, you can instal many free 3rd party's software, like oxygen or S2P...
WITH THE DIAMOND2,THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!!
I RECOMMEND IT
I HAVE HAD THESE PHONES FOR YEARS SINCE THE FIRST XDA GENERATION
i was torn like you before, cause i like apple so much, but who make my mind to have my diamond 2 that i found IPhone every time they will release an OS version you need to wait for the jalibreak to run your application from Cydia etc,,,,,,. which will make me unable to test and play with my phone as i would like. So i Decided to get my Diamond 2 and i am happy with it.
It was the freedom to install what you like on the phone that tempted me...and that it will get Windows Mobile 6.5 later in the year to iron out any niggles you mioght find. I'd also say that although people seem to hate them, the option to use a stylus every now and again does come in handy - you can type far faster with the stylus than the iphone touch keyboard, and you can write or draw notes in something like EverNote (very cool app).
One other point that few people seem to mention...the TD2 is much much (much!) cheaper than the iphone. I got mine through mobiles.co.uk for free at £30 a month for more texts and minutes than I'll ever need plus mobile internet. AND £40 cashback that pays for a nice big SD card to store your music! No brainer if you ask me...

If you don't mind me asking, which network have you signed up to because I was told that O2's contract does not include free wifi and internet usage and on the mobiles.co.uk webiste, it doesn't state whether the orange contracts do either

It was the "Orange Dolphin 40" - afraid you'll need the 24 month contract to get the mobile browsing. If you click on the TD2 from the mobiles.co.uk home page, then select the orange tab it should be listed as including 500mb data - that's your mobile browsing. Not exactly "unlimited" but it is the same in practice as o2's mobile browsing deal and more than enough for me as I use the wi-fi at home and work anyway.
How long did it take for you to receive the cash back offer from mobiles.co.uk?

Cheque arrived yesterday! That's with me placing the order originally on 14 May. They actually wait 14 days after you receive the phone (you can send it back in that period if you're not happy) then it's supposed to be another 14 to 28 days after that. Were pretty prompt with me though.
Of course if you're happy to wait longer, you get a much better deal with the 9 months half price offer - they send a cheque every 3 months I think.

Good choice, and hope you have fun with the phone. I should be charging them commission though...
I realise you already ordered yours, but for others considering the TD2, I am looking at http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/n447/p10957.aspx
mobile phones Direct
The contract I'm looking at is the T-Mobile Combi 30 +Web n Walk,
This gives 300mins, 200 Texts + the standard Web n Walk web allowance.
For: £35 a month, with the phone costing £33.
(I know it doesn't mention web on the 'Text & Web' bit, but I emailed them and the confirmed it does include it)
Seems a good deal, I've just got to persuade myself now!

Spb Mobile Shell Discount?

Hi,
Anyone know of any discount for spb mobile shell? Is there any kind of forum discount?
Unfortunately for me, I tried it and really liked it. I don't know that it's worth $30 though.
YES!
Yes, I upgraded from Mobile Shell 2 to MS3 and I paid only 15.00.
Best 15 bucks ever, mobile shell 3 is vastly superb to anything I have used for windows mobile. I am running it on top of NATFs 4.7 ROM and I couldnt be happier. No lag, 100% customizable, the layout top notch, options out the butt, truely a MAJOR upgrade over 2. Do it.
Agreed. SBP MS3 is a must have app.

I also did the SPB Mobile 2.0 to 3.0 for 15.00. Well worth the price. I'd recommend you look at sites like handango as they will occasionally have discounts on products as well as overall discounts and discounts for new users.
Good luck...it's a great product
And if one did not purchase the previous version? Any other discount? Maybe we need to do a group buy?

I was going to the get this at the full price, and when I realized I could get it 50% off because I bought MS2 at full price, I jumped for joy. Worth every penny at 30, seriously.
However, I did some searching (you may want to as well) and try entering one of these into the promotion code box:
20OFF
BESTSELLERS
I dont know if they will work, but if they do, its a 20% discount on the best piece of software I have ever used on any HTC product Ive ever owned. Good luck!

Zagg Flex Keyboard/Stand

Heres a great deal I found on the Zagg Flex Keyboard/Stand. It costs 79.99 on their site. Sometime for 69.99 when on sale. Amazon has it for 57.28 on their site. But heres the real deal:
http://www.all4cellular.com/product/zagg-zaggkeys-flex-bluetooth-keyboard-bulk.html
ONLY 34.99 while supplies last because of overstock. If you look at the value this was a deal breaker I could not pass up. I paid 2$ sipping so my total was 36.99. If you look at the reviews the build quality and features are top notch. I'll use this for the keyboard and continue using my 10" Belkin neoprene case for transporting the tablet until the smartcover officially from Samsung (Still Hopeful) drops.
Good luck for those of you interested in a keyboard.
Heres a link to their commercial:

Wow. This is a steal. If I didn't have one already, I'd get one. I bought one at 80, and I don't regret it, thought I wouldn't have minded to save a bit of money.
This keyboard is amazing and works almost perfectly out of the box. But when you combine this keyboard with this app, you will actually want to use your N10 for productivity. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apedroid.hwkeyboardhelper
I don't work for Zagg nor am I the dev of this app FYI.

Yes, but that's an issue with all bluetooth keyboards and 4.2. Had nothing to do with zagg
Nice find! Just paid $31.16 for mine and I can't wait! :good:
I picked one up at Target, and while it performed well it just felt exceedingly cheap to me. The plastic case didn't have any structure to it and warped easily unless I was using it on a desk. Typing with they keyboard balanced on the arm of the sofa (for example) just didn't work for me. It has since been returned and I'm looking into other keyboard options.
Thanks for the find. Just ordered and was able to use the 20% off promo code someone else posted.
Damn, wish I had a extra $31.

Is anyone trying to order from overseas and having problems? Sometimes the site shows a shipping quote, sometimes it wont, it doesnt except my credit card and when i use paypal, it doesnt add any shipping costs.
All in all it would be a great deal, even with the $30 shipping costs, it's still almost half the price of what i pay in europe.
