I establish a good Wi-Fi connection and the green, right LED inidicator blinks properly.
Same thing with GPS except it's an amber LED blinking.
Phone signal indicator has the "E" for the Edge network, "H" and so on after establishing the Wi-Fi connection
TomTom shortcut appears under "No upcoming appointments" after TomTom installation.
The LED's alternate if both the Wi-Fi and GPS are going at the same time.
After re-starting the phone, all of the above stop blinking or goes away. The "E" and "H" indicator on the signal strength just turns to an antenna icon. I could probably oversee that because with Wi-Fi, Edge doesn't need to be active.
I've hard reset at least 4 times already and tried to trace my steps to see what could be causing this. I've installed or changed and then re-started after each install or change and each setting is individually rescinded.
I pretty much have decided NOT to re-start after making these changes and installs.
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Should I be saving somewhere after all these changes?

Upgraded to rom 1.40, the G (gprs) icon is always on... seems I am always connected but in 1.22.04 rom G icon was always Off. except when I was downloading something I suppose. What does it mean? I'm a little bit confused by this Icon. GPRS bytes are very expensive here in italy and I am not so rich
Thanx for your answers...
The white G means that GPRS is available, not that is it on. When you connect to GPRS, the icons changes to the G with arrows.
This is different than previous versions of the rom.
Otherwise, you did something else wrong (extended rom mishap, full restore after upgrade, etc)
i have noticed the same think.....
can the G icon be removed somehow?
No. There is a significant difference between the status icons of the older roms and this new 1.40 rom.
First of all, the phone and connectivity icons are no longer TOGETHER. They have been seperated out. The Icons showing you the signal strengh is phone icon, which deals with all things phone, and the typically "G" icon, is the connectivitiy icon, which deals with all things internet/networking.
With the older roms, when you connected to GPRS or Wifi, a seperate black icon would pop up showing you what you are connected to. Now, the connectivity icon shows always shows you WHAT IS AVAILABLE (so it displays a white G most of the time because GPRS is available, when you turn on WIFI, it displays a WIFI symbol) and when you connect, it shows you the corresponding connection icon.
The only real difference then, appears when you aren't connected. The old rom would show no second icon, but the new icon shows you what you CAN connect to.
I hope that explained it.

Is the connection dropping out?
If the connection is working fine at the required radius, don't let what the meter says concern you.
wifi
the signal did drop out when i am out of my study room where my router sits.
it used to still connect the wifi.
any help?
Sounds obvious, but have you any new electrical equipment that may be causing interference??
This was happening to me if I tried and use wifi in the Kitchen, because of the fridge!!
I used sktools to change to G mode compatibility and it stopped.. Could just be a fluke though!!
wifi
hi all
tried that but the signal still the same
wifi - wlan problem
Hi,
i've updated my VPA III (BlueAngel) with Xplode's latest R4 image. It's a very nice work xplode!
But I can't turn my wifi on. If I go to the wireless and turn on wifi like discribed in the other threads i can see the left green led (for wifi) blinking like wifi is switched on but the software says still wifi is turned off. it also doesn't work in the comm manager.
thanks
Ebo
i will describe more specific the wifi turning on procedure(you should perform it once after boot, and then use comm manager until reboot):
1. turn on wifi trough wireless manager, it turns on and the turns off by itself
2. turn on wifi from comm manager, now you can control it from comm mnager, enable disable
thank you for the datail infos but I also tried this before and whatever I try nothing helps. It keeps like I described it:
when i do your first step
1. turn on wifi trough wireless manager, it turns on and the turns off by itself
---> the left green hardware led beginns to blink like wifi is physically enabled
but i can't get any access to it and the wireless item on the today screen says still "Wi-Fi: Unavailable"
and the secon step
2. turn on wifi from comm manager, now you can control it from comm mnager, enable disable
-->seems to has simply no effect
before with an older helmi and the original vodaphone software i also had some promblems like sometimes i had to do a soft reset before i could use wlan
is there any way to debug it like a log file or this KITL!?
i also tried a new software update and I cleaned the registry hive and i've formated the storage
@xploe i use your latest release xplode R4 lazy release and at the boot screen appears
R 1.15.00
D 1337.45
G 5.35.04.WWE

Can I ask did u notice this problem before you upgraded & were hoping to solve it via upgrade?.
If your wifi board is on its way out or the antenna has taken one blow two many and let go. No amount of flashing could help.
Did the problem only arise after flashing?.
Hi all
My connection icons on the top menu bar don't appear to be behaving themselves...
Normally when I get a connection either through GPRS or Wifi the arrows usually become static indicating a connection has been made. At the moment whenever a connection is made they are continuously animated, as if they are trying to establsh a connection.
Is there a setting somewhere either through a tweak or registry where this can be put back to normal?
Thanks
Upon some reading of the user manual, I have decided to edit my post.
The service icon on my Tilt (shows the big E, 3G, H, etc), which also shows the wi-fi radio and whether I'm connected to a computer, has stopped refreshing itself.
After starting up, it shows the opposing arrows with an "x" indicating no service. I do have service, though. If I do anything (activate wi-fi, connect to a computer, etc), the icon changes to that, but once done, it stays there. It doesn't refresh back to the big H (or E) that should be there, nor does it go all the way back to the no service indicator.
The most recent thing I did before this happened was to try a registry tweak to remove the clock (and hopefully put up the battery meter) in PointUI Home 2. Even after undoing the tweak, the icon still doesn't work.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
If it helps have things make sense, it's the big connectivity icon, not the little service icon with the bars.
If I connect via wi-fi, when I turn off wi-fi, the icon stays the same. If I connect to a computer, when I disconnect, the icon stays the two opposing arrows. After a soft reset, I get the two broken arrows.
Regardless, I never get the E or H I used to normally have.
Help anyone?
I tried installing JUVS's Large Title Bar and while the small icon on the title bar wasn't right, the large icon for the connectivity was the large H I've been missing. I do have the small H with my signal bars, but have not had the big connectivity H icon (or E or G) for a couple weeks.
Does anyone have any clue?
Is the lack of suggestions due to things not being clear, or is everyone actually stumped?
This seems new, and it is annoying me.
The little "LTE" text next to the signal strength indicator in task bar is showing, even when connected to WiFi. Typically, when connected to WiFi, the LTE text drops, indicating that the LTE connection itself has dropped.
I had ensured that I don't have the phone set to maintain an LTE connection even when connected to WiFi, and also that data is actually routing our over WiFI, and not LTE for any reason.
Any ideas?
