I've owned the AT&T 8525 with the stock rom using Windows OS 5.0 and have purchased the Tilt for delivery next week. My question is whether software I've installed on the 8525 will be compatable with the Tilt. Slingbox mobile? SPB Pocket Plus and Shell? PIE Plus? Memmaid? Sprite Backup? Thanks for any input!
Slingbox, no problem. Just check for updates on the various progs, most vendors have released updates to support these newer WM6 devices.

All,
I have Audiovox's rebranded Blue Angel, the Audiovox PPC6600. I called Audiovox today to inquire about the following:
1. Does Audiovox plan on providing a WM2005 upgrade? Either free or on a pay basis.
2. If not, do they know if HTC is planning on making one available regardless if Audiovox does not.
1. The answer from Audiovox is NO. They do not plan on providing an upgrade, they will be providing new devices only with WM2005. Basically they want to force you to purchase new devices.
2. They are unaware of any plans by HTC to offer such an upgrade.
So I guess its up to the other carriers to work with HTC to get a BlueAngel upgrade...
Here's hoping for a cooked ROM...

Iam ever ready prepared to pay for a wm2k5 upgrade from HTC and hope they make it avaiable asap. I felt it as a matter of moral obligations to ba customers like us.
I bought the xda, xda2, xda2s and the xda mini. I will definitely buy the universal when it is out.
If HTC follow Dell and HP examples to support their customers with wm2k5 then people like us would appreciate and follow HTC to the universal, moon, planets, stars, galaxy or to the end of the world or time with them
HTC is a shadow Taiwanese company. They will not be releasing anything directly to customers.

Well, I'm going to guess that it's because the phone you have is CDMA based, not GSM (you have a Harrier, not quite a blue angel).
More than likely, the hooks into the OS from the radio stack are very different between GSM and CDMA, and since it appears that the only ROM's anyone was able to get a hold of for WM5 were for the GSM version of the phone, no one was able to build anything for the Harrier.
IIRC, the main reason there is even a WM5 for the Blue Angel is that someone got a hold of a ROM dump from a development Blue Angel running WM5.
Your MDA II (Himalaya) is GSM. Most of the rest of the world uses GSM, so those ROM's are the most common.
That's my theory.
You can upgrade your device with WM5 only if you have rom specific created for it, but as far as i know there is no such rom outside microsoft labs
hi i just bought a tmobile mda off of ebay and plan to get it in a few days. I know it is a couple years old and still has WM5, other then upgradeing to WM6, what else should I do to my new wizard? Also, does anyone know if the iphone interface works well, if so how do i get it on my mda?
Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a T-mobile wing, but i am signed up for at&t. Whoops... Just wondering, is this possible? Will the same features be if i unlock it? Thanks. - DhaMajor
wing and wingS is two different device, if you have a wing, refer to the specific subforum
(t mo wing is a touchscreen ppc, instead the wings is a smartphone, with wm standard and without touchscreen)
I am not in USA and my diamond is not from AT&T, anyone has a copy of the newest official AT&T ROM for htc Diamond?
Thanks in advance!
AT&T does not carry the diamond. There are rumors that it will pick up the Diamond 2 later this year, but for now the only HTC is the Fuze.
Thanks for the info
Thanks, stuntd97. I didn't find it in the at&t website and I thought it was just taken down because it's an old phone.
