As a former Tytn/8525 user, I enjoyed the one button access to the Comm Manager. I used it all the time to limit my power costly modes.
So I installed Spb's Pocket Plus for the Button assignment capabilities. But the default Comm Manager page does not show up as an application when I go to assign the buttons. Several of the 6 Button .cabs on the Kaiser .cab page DO show up.
So my problem is, I wan't to use duttythroy's 10 button black 3g comm manager .cab, which by far is the best and the WiFi switch works, but it also does not show up as an assignable application for a button.
What can be done to accomplish this?
Thanks for any suggestions!

by default, the AT&T rom hid the comm manager from the start menu. You need to add the application's shortcut to the startmenu before you can assign the button. Go into the windows directory and find commmanager.exe and make a shortcut (on your start menu/programs) to this app. Then you can map the app to a button.
if you are using a non-default comm manager, then exe is probably named commmanagerlink.exe
can anyone tell me how to map buttons under WM/Setting? on my screen, there is only one option available,
"Button 1 (hold)"
What about other keys (talk/end/<-)? aren't supposed to be able to configure these keys?
I wish I could reconfigure the Home button to be the Start menu.
Have you tried AE-Button? Should work with that...

Don't know if it works but you can try to edit the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C1
The settings are from a Palm Treo 750 (WM6) who has a startmenu key.

Only "Button 1(Hold)" is listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\ as "40C6" key.
Maybe adding a key...?
I tried to add a key using the info found in another topic ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400845#4 ) but it didn't worked. Only the name of the button disappeared from the list of mappable buttons in the settings...
Anyone knows how to fix the Home button bug when cooking BlackStone ROM with Rhodium manila OEM packages ? The Home button actually works but instead of taking the user to the Home screen it takes to the previous state in Manila. I have seen this has been reported in various custom ROM threads and I've seen some chefs fixing this problem, however I did not find anyone sharing a solution to this bug yet. I bet it's gonna be some RGU setting I missed.. Anyone having experience with this ?

RESOLVED: Install the following cab from here

I doubt it is a reg setting alone. It is most likely a value which has to be edited from one the of the manila files as the hardware buttons are different on the rhodium. I'm trying to fix the the gsensor on/off in settings tab. The problem is the value coming from manila is it report the value of 1 for on which is correct, but reports a 2 for off which should be a 0. I don't know which manila file to edit.

Thanks Onkolog I will look in to these.
Great!
I have a problem with the GSensor as well! Davide advised to switch back to original BlackStone OEM package, but that did not help at all. When launching the GSensor calibration, the waterlevel bars are frozen. Anyways, if you find a solution to that or to my Home HW button mentioned above, please share
Regards,
Sasovics
And yes, I agree with you bobsbbq, the Topaz/Rhodium manila behaves different as the Hardware Buttons are different as well. From the attached screenshot you can see that on the Topaz device, the End key is the Home key as well! And if you cook in Topaz's manila into BlackStone ROM, it behaves the same way. While on call the end key will end the call, but on every other situation it behaves as the Home key on my BlackStone. So what we have to find is a way to redefine in manila to bring up the Home screen when the actual Blackstone's Home key (instead of the End key) is pressed

And IMHO it's much better like that...
The consequece is that in Touch HD we will have one button more which could be redirected to something else
So, instead of forcing the home button to become the "Home" button, why not forcing it to something else as the End button is already redirecting to "Home" screen.

hi, i just installed L26 V9 and the home button works for me in all but calendar, music and settings, it works with my installed apps too. the end key does it when the home button doesn't.

Does that mean that mean, if you press the HW Home button, will it take you to the Manila Home screen and not just to the previous visible manila page ?
Pls try this example: Go to "Photos and Videos" tab, and tap on any picture to see it in a slideshow, then press the HW Home button. If it takes you back to the Manila Homescreen wiht the clock and not back to the "Photos and Videos" tab instead, then our friend Laurentius found a solution to this
For me it's wrong manila setting.......
If youu disable manilla from today ,home and back key work perfectly
with original biotouch.dll
Rhodium manila package home and back key are inverted
Topaz Manila Package home and key are "ok/close (back) function"
other informations:
with Biotouch.dll from topaz change the hardware Key configuration, but on Hd dont work correctly
Yes, I did the same! I cooked in the Topaz Manila Package along with the Topaz TouchFLO3D package and my hardware buttons weren't working at all. Replacing the biotouch.dll with the one from BlackStone's OEM fixed this problem except the mentioned HW Home button bug. I agree it must be either manila's setting or the biotouch.dll itself. But my bet is, it's the manila! Since the HW buttons behaves different on Topaz and Rhodium manila. And if it is indeed manila, the remaining question is, which if the many hundreds of manila files to edit ???
hi, today i'm wondering, if i was launching my apps from homescreen/start menu. when hitting the home button would this then take me back to homescreen ? if i launch apps from anywhere/start, then hit home button, i go back to anywhere. the home button is not functioning properly.

Really!! Well what do you think this tread its about? Reread the title again.
In the Rhodium ROM, if the back key is the home key and vice versa. Can´t this be fixed quite easily?

Great work my friend, Which files was it in? Out of curiosity? I have not had time to work on the GSensor been too busy. Did you look into this one?
Hello,
I´m using Valkyrie V3.0 Firestorm with normal Touchflo (no Leo), but I recognize this problem on many other ROMs, so I decided to make an own thread:
activating another panel (for example mediapanel and start playing a title)
=>pressing the red key for locking the screen
=>unlocking the screen
=>the panel isn`t visibile (but still work in the background) and I see touchflo
=>activating the panelmanager, it slides out the panel (so that the panel should be visible)
Is there a solution for this? That I can activate all panels and they are still active, working and VISIBLE after keylocking?
Yes, it's an incompatibility between panels and tf3d. the best solution I have found is to use the excellent WkTask, which enables you to "minimize" manila and see whatever panel you have running behind.
I guess any task manager that allows you to switch to manila (most of them hide it) would do the same job, but I like WkTask
WkTask: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335085
If using WinMo 6.5, read this:

ahh thank you very much!
i can`t use wktask because in wm6.5 23028 are the close buttons etc on the bottom left side and not on the top right side...but i will search another program
I am dying to find a working task switcher with the newest breeds of 6.5 ROMS. With the buttons at the bottom my normal SPB PocketPlus X Button app doesnt work.
e-natives showcase freezes up and doesn't open sometimes.
What else can I try to quickly and effeciently change from one task to another?
I use eNatives without issue. Have you tried the latest build just for 6.5
Showcase for New WM6.5.x BUILD 23045+
I did try the newest e-natives and either it is having problems or the rom/combo is having problems with it.
I will try to open it and it won't open. Sometimes it will take 2 minutes to open. Other times it just freezes.
Any other suggestions? I simply want Fast Task Switching.
Spb pocketplus never had issue but with the buttons moved to the bottom it no longer works.
I use taskfacade mapped to my ptt button and with the option to not minimize on launch.

Same here, but all newest versions of 6.5 hijack the PTT button and now i got bupkiss.....
quick menu 2.8 is brilliant once you fiddle with it to get what you want from it
AltTab.exe on Htc HD2 Leo-Volume-Keys instead of Taskmanager
