Hi all,
I just upgraded my Dutch T-Mobile ROM to the 2.26 US one and it works great, BUT, I no longer have MMS in MESSAGING ?
I only have Text Messages and Outloock E-mail.
Anyone have an idea on how to get it back?

You need to find the Cab file in the dutch extended rom that has MMS in the name, it will install everything you need for MMS.
Did you install extrom or else u probably need the cab called MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Java5xx-Voice-CV-TMUS-060406.CAB

Thanks for the replies guys, but I can't for the life of me find a cab file for this ?
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

MY network drive got fried and I lost all my ROMS. Can someone please post the Cingular customization Cabs that used to be on here. I cannot find them anymore.

That file from me might not be the best one as it has additional stuff in there that some folks might not like (was one of my early cab experiments)
The only file I use is the Connection Wizard cab included below. (rename from .zip to .cab)
I don't use MMS so I know nothing about that but skOt posted CAB files for MMS folder and Cingular settings inside!

Thorough descriptions
Have you guys found an extensive description of the CAB files? I have a buch of ExtROMS but lots of CABs are not documented.
I would suggest having a new thread where we post whatever we know from the CABs in order to get a final list for people willing to cook their own ExtROMs... What do you think.
Finally, on the CINGULAR, I have built a splashscreen for the two screens below. If you like it I can share.
I am looking for the CAB that customizes the Today Theme for Cingular and the phone pad skin as well. Please let me know if you have an idea of their names.

Sorry it took forever, but I was out on vacation.
One uses the RUU and is intended for replacing the first boot screen.
The second is a CAB you run from your Wizard and replaces the second screen.

the collection of command line tools in most of the kitchens will do it but they're a PIA to use... recently, ive used the automated tools in the HyperCore kitchen or the new Wizard Service Tool 4.0.... that thing is awesome!
Leshan, the you'll need to use the Hypercore kitchen to do that. I don't think that it is well sorted out instruction-wise, but it does extract the ROM (XIP) as well as the SYS and OEM folders. You might post in his thread or send him a PM as I'm not able to go into detail right now since I'm at work.

Yes, I have already tried to use Hypercore kitchen to do my job. I tried to Dump the Official T-Mobile AKU3.3 rom take off some trash and add some apps. I know you created a clean AKU3.3. So may I have two questions please:
1. How can I take off the T-mobile dialer skin and use the WM5 default one or even WM6 default one? I tried to replace the 6 'bmp' files and some 'dll' files, I only got the blue dialer skin but no 3D button and no smartdial.
2. How can I replace the old Office with Office 2007?

If you dont want to mess with cooking the rom you can use these cabs..
First one will replace the carrierlogo (with nothing..you wont see it)from the dialer and activate the default wm5 dialer .
Second will enable smart dialing but however you wont be able to use smartdial because the default wm5 skin does not support this ..
If you really want smart dialing you can use the 3rd file which is a wm6-ish skin.Or pick another one from http://www.zombienexus.net
I dont think office 2k7 will work under wm5 maybe i am wrong..

Leshan, I had to replace all of the .gif files in the OEM camera folder with the files from the original Cingular 2.25 ROM to get the blue smart dialing back. In addition, there are some registry changes that need to be made so the smart dialing highlights will not be pink and grey. You can also replace the Phone Pad with the files from the same ROM (MMS/other apps folder) as well so you totally get rid of the pink and grey.

So, Would you please tell me the name of the folder which have the .gif files. And the registry changes detail?
Thanks. I do not want to just change the registry in the WM5 to disable the Tmobile Dialer skin.

The two folders are 1a8ae8d9-5f48-47a0-9d6d-1731f4ac839a (MMS/other apps) and 71d74e8a-db26-4396-936e-96957645b723 (camera). You have to delete all of the pink and gray .bmp's and then take the blue .bmp's from the Cingular ROM and put them in the camera folder to get blue smart dialing. You'll then have to get the phone pad app. from the Cingular ROM as well. The .rgu file in 71d74e8a-db26-4396-936e-96957645b723 has the color settings for smart dialing. I'll let you find them.

can someone pls post a WORKING STK that works under WM6. badly need it, this is the one feature that WM2003 has that WM5 or WM6 seems to lack. so if anyone managed to find an STK program that works. pls upload.

yup, did search already, but all are under WM5 thread headings and etc. im just making this an easy to use and search thread under WM6, so if there will be one, it will be easy to find.

Sorry man, I've been busy with my hobby, riding bmx (flatland). Sometimes I'm playing WarCraft III (DotA). Don't worry man, I visit our site but very often. I am also searching other sites that have a pocket pc forum. Maybe they have solution to our problem, and share to others.

it is not working....
i tested an O2 ZINC
and found that STK was working on that device. it was running WM5 and as per my deduced reasoning, there is no engneering design difference between XDA 2 and ZINC with regards to simcard holder and software for the simcard.
i also found some file differences between my XDA 2 running WM6 and the ZINC running WM5, i tried to download some files like stkui, sim...something, and other dll and such files from the ZINC unit (it was not mine) but activesync could not copy the files.
i know that those files can help me make the STK run in XDA 2 WM 6. if someone can post files from ZINC, thats probably will start with stk or sim please do upload all files, and i will test running them on XDA 2. please, thanks.
for those who have other devices running WM6 or WM5, please post some files from your WINDOWS folder, some of those or a combination of those will make the STK work for WM6 on O2 XDA.
by the way, the posted STK.ZIP will run the STK menu but only on the first menu level, it will not activate the next level menus.

yup i agree with you bro! but until nw i dont knw y does simtoolkit doesnt work on xda2 wm6. guys out there pls post your stk running on wm6 here, attach file here.. this wud be a great help.. thanks. happy new year to all!

successfully managed to ZIP files from O2 ZINC to try to copy the STK files from the ZINC and copy to the XDA 2.
with VERY FUNNY RESULTS, look at the attached JPEG file of my screen copy of the ZIP file that i got from the ZINC.
look at the encircled RED, the SIMSEC.DLL, SIMTKIT.DLL, SIMTKUI*.MUI, are all ZERO BYTES because ROM based files CANNOT be copied or overwritten in any device.
I think, and this is per deductive reasoning, these exact same files which we should change, however, these files cannot be copied from another device to another device....because it is ROM based. so if someone can copy these files, pls do and upload.
Can anyone extract a Cab that will enable users who have flashed to use the service Push to Talk. I flashed 3 kaisers and they are requesting the service on their kaisers. I don't want to revert back to stock att ROM. any help would be appreciated.

how about you stop being ignorant and acknowledge the fact that maybe some of us like the current ROM's that Schap, or Dutty have made and don't want to flash another ROM. I know someone will make a cab file or some way to get it to work on a ROM of OUR CHOICE!
