i just bought mt tilt i installed the home plug in and it doesnt cover the entire screen. Can someone please tell me what im doing wrong. thanks
It's not supposed to cover the whole screen. Mine is only 1/2 covered and always has been that way, even on my 8525.
.:Christian:.
i mean the top and bottom is still blue. i even installed the black theme.
Then that's a theme issue, not a plugin issue. Two different things...

Hi!
I just replaced the screen on a wizard because the old one got smashed.
Anyway, I connected it up, re-assembled everything, and turned it on. The screen stays solid white, and then goes dim once its presumably finished booting.
The weird thing is, I can still use the touch-screen because if I click at the top left, I can hear the menu drop down, and can select items from it!
Any ideas what I've done wrong, if anything?
Ive triple checked all the connections and it all seems okay!
Help!
Thanks
two suggestions, that might aid diagnosis, feel free to shoot them down in flames.
Have you connected the device using pocket pc controller or similar software application?
Have you tried hard reset?
Do keep us updated.

I had a simular problem replaceing my screen. I know you will say it looks right but it isnt. the ribbon cable that the lcd fits into isnt properly seated the tabs that stick out on the sides of the ribbon cable need to be fitted all the way up against the fitting the tabs on your arnt pushed in resultin in a volatge connection but no video.
I just bought my tilt from at&t about 2-3 weeks ago, and now I believe the screen is broken. The weird thing is its not cracked, it was sitting on my bed and i recieved a text and I picked it up and the screen was out. I didn't drop it or hit it with anything, now the screen is completely white, with what looks like ink in the lower right corner and thats why im assuming its the screen. So the question is, is it soley the screen or could my rom, duttys latest hybrid version, have messed with anything? And I'm not sure how that would affect anything anyway. I just don't see why it would go out all the sudden and nothing have happened to it. Im under the assumption now that it is the screen, but was wanting to if it was a hardware problem. I've searched some threads and I havn't found one where there wasn't a crack in the screen.

It's definitely the screen, the 'ink' color is the liquid crystal layer that's ruptured..
Hello,
I have the htc 8925. a couple of weeks ago, my screen turned whitish blue. it completely washed out... i did a soft reset and it came back to normal. however a couple of days later, it happened again... i took out the battery, let it rest, and all was fine... but the white screen came back.
this is my problem. if the white screen were permanently there, i would have no issues with buying another screen. but it seems as though this is a "connector" issue and not my screen. sometimes, i just tap the screen and it turns white, i tap it again and it goes back to normal.
i have browsed through all of Mike Channon's posts and his website, i have dismantled my phone twice. everything seemed secure.... what would help me is if anyone knew exactly where the connector issue for the white screen on the kaiser where coming from.
i would appreciate all responses from anyone, expert or not. i dont want to buy a new screen because it seems as though my screen is fine, but just placed wrongly.
thanks again
Jennifer

i just noticed also that when i apply pressure to the lower right corner of the screen, the white screen goes away, but when i let go, it comes back... just wanted to add that
Had the same thing happen to a Tilt I bought from AT&T on the second day. Not sure what was wrong with it but they just sent me a new one. From my reading it seems to have something to do with the flexible video cable.
well I turned my phone on the other day after letting it sit for a week, and its bassically all white screen but still has a little bit of the blue range, and the letters and icons and such looks like a screen thats out of tune.
when I go to boot loader for the red ble green white, its completely white except where it shows in blue/purple the boot loader information.
anyone know if I can fix this or do I need a new screen?
I also took the thing completely apart thinking it was a bad connection but nothing helped when I put it back together, also have tried another os to the same avail
nobody has ever had a screen problem?
Man, is that sig pic safe for work?
You might need to reseat the lcd screen cable/ribbon.
Well I took the phone completely apart but did not wipe all the contacts like a doe doe, look like the ribbon cable has some scratches on it but doesn't look like anything is contacting metal so I tried to mend it with electrical tape and I still have the problem, looks like next I'll take it apart again and use some alcohol on it.
and yes its safe for work haha most places block it off
i read somewhere here on xda that if the screen's colors are out of whack, it is recommended to REMOVE the battery and let the device sit for a few hours/days.
then put the battery back in and see if that fixes things up...
thanks guys I'll try the second advice tonight I've just left the battery in and havent taken it out for more than an hour so far.
So my Screen broke and I bought a new one so I could replace it, the touch screen/digitizer didn't break though... at first the colors just started washing and fading untill the screen ended up completely dark, I could still use the touch screen and feel when I would unlock it, after a day the phone would not give me any feed back by vibrating or turning the orange light while charging, so I dismantled it using some tips from these videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhj8Xs9vAyg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTRXSMQ-GJY&feature=related
After I put everything back together the phone is giving me feedback again and I can notice its charging because of the orange light, but the screen won't turn on. Does any one know if I might need to do something on the software side? like needing to re install anything? or do you think I just got a bad screen?
Update: I just took it apart again and reconnected the ribbons, its back together and the screen still won't turn on.
You have the AMOLED screen and not the LCD?
Did you compare the #'s on the old and new to see you got the right part?
Cables are the same, they look the same, part # and stickers are different...
What are the part numbers on your new and old screen? I just went through the same thing, but I'm fairly sure I got the wrong screen replacement. Will have to look more into it later tonight.
My screen wont turn on at all. I was so excited to get my N1 back in action as well.
