Mentioned patching a security hole but nothing else that I saw. Just finished installing, version shows 7.0.7392.0
Fix for fraudulent third-party digital certificates. This update includes a critical fix to an industry-wide issue with nine untrusted digital certificates that were issued by one root certificate authority. These third-party digital certificates are used to access popular websites and email portals. Although this is not a Microsoft security vulnerability, these untrusted certificates may be used to spoof content, perform phishing attacks, or perform man-in-the-middle attacks against all web browser users. This update moves the affected certificates to the "Untrusted Publishers" certificate store on Windows Phone, which helps ensure that these fraudulent certificates are not inadvertently used.

That's all it's supposed to be and is. Just got it too. Glad I did as I needed a fresher backup
According to Walsh it also has other fixes though... I wouldn't doubt Microsoft just threw something in there, after all, they didn't mention a single bug fix in NoDo, though obviously there were some.
Issues with 7392 and phone battery life
I'm reading about some users in UK facing horrible battery life after 7392 update... not sure i want to update my phone.
People with stock TMo HD7, anything to report?
Oh and here is the link to the thread:

UPDATE:
Couldn't wait any more and updated it just now... will post back the results tomorrow.
my phone is updating as i type. back up is taking long to finish. probably because i have lots of files in it.
and its eating approximately 3gb of my disc space
is it safe if i cut and save the back up to a disc of a thumb drive?will it make a difference to paste back the files to its directory given that i need to restore my phone to its previous version?
thanks
updating mine now...will post results...
Updated my htc hd7 us tmobile here in uk all went well I just got the phone today can't see any battery issues. Loving this phone and I just came from a samsung galaxy s2 but I think this is better.
Yeah, been running it almost a day now...no issues.

Can someone just explain to me once I have this 7392.0 update installed do I need to update the firmware and radio and boot loader do these change with the zune software update or do I need to manually update them by flashing with a ruu installer, what's the difference between zune updates and the flashing the latest tmobile rom are they the same thing? Does anyone have a link to the latest tmobile us rom for htc hd7.
We both Have HD7's on O2 in the UK and we both have Mango RTM leaked on our phones.
This morning she was notified that there was an HTC update for her phone, after installing it she now has new radio and firmware. Quite a bit newer than mine.
I can't force mine to get the update and the only difference between the two phones is that mine has bootloader version 1.*** and hers has version 4.***. Could this be the reason I have not got the update?
Or would that have been updated by HTC? (I did force install NODO on mine and think I needed to change the bootloader then)
Am I destined to never get another update? Can I change my bootlloader? Any help much appreciated.
All RTM and Normal WP7 phones will get the Update regardless, its just that MS does them in batches and your wife's phone was the lucky one in the first batch.
You can try force the update in Zune with the disconnecting trick.
Just have patience as all phones will be updated by end November.
So it has nothing to do with the provisioning of the device from when I updated from the beta servers for beta2?
In addition to all this, Connection setup will not run. So I uninstalled it and now I cannot install it again because it says it is not designed for my device in the marketplace. Why is that?
HTC HUB and some applications seem to be affected if you update from RTM to the Official HTC one
THe work around I found was to 'FACTORY RESET' your Phone after the HTC Update.
To HARD RESET your Phone
http://www.hard-reset.com/htc-hd7-hard-reset.html
Thank you for all your advice.
But do you think this would prohibit me from recieveing the firmware update?
I've got an AT&T braded HD7. It would never update past 7720. Yeah, pre Tango. Bug fixes? Who needs those? Sorry, I'm frustrated.
Anyways, today I unlocked the phone (legit means). Now I've got my AT&T and an unused T-Mobile SIM.
No matter the method, I cannot get an upgrade. Let me be clear: I'd rather not have to hack my phone, but get the update normally.
Everything I've tried, hard resets, one SIM, the other, no SIM, different locales, hours of Zune unplug network "trick", nothing works. I'm "up to date" at 7720.
Can anyone:
1. Confirm that AT&T (U.S.) branded HD7 can in no way get an update through Zune normally.
2. Give their true opinion on the stability of SevenEighter.
No luck!

I'll say that the SevenEighter tool work comletely fine for my T-Mobile branded HD7. Great little tool. Just be sure to select all the language packs your phone needs to operate.
As for the AT&T question, as far as I know, AT&T didn't realease an update for the HD7. If they haven't released any update for pre-Tango, I don't think you'll have any luck.

I went ahead on Sunday and used SevenEighter. I also did research about the language packs before I ran it. It worked great. I was -NINE- revisions behind, so it took a while. It blows my mind AT&T wouldn't even release the Tango bug fix version. What a garbage provider.
Woah!

So far so good. I'm not the type to use a lot of apps, email, and facebook. I just like the simple interface.
I guess I'll put it through its paces when I attempt to use it with a new bluetooth car stereo.

I did find 7.8 corrected my battery meter issue. It would go to near dead in a day and stay that way for a day. Now the meter acts normal.

maybe it will be a good idea to keep this update issue in one thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/help/eu-7-dual-sim-ta-1046-model-stuck-t3780101
Anyway, this update saga becomes more interesting as someonefrom Spain, with same model, is reporting he got the update when he turned on the phone 1st time: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76296726&postcount=6
Hope it is not an issue with Amazon IMEI

Something that seems to work for some people is to remove your sim card, disable the GPS, clear the cache and data of carrier services under the apps menu (you'll need to click on the three dots and show system apps first), clear the same for Google Services Framework, reboot, connect to the Belgium server using Psiphon Pro (a VPN app). Choose to tunnel whole device. You could also try other locations like Germany and Denmark in Psiphon Pro. Some people have found that if it doesn't work, a factory reset prior to connecting to the VPN has triggered the update, but that's pretty extreme. Let us know if it works, as I don't own the device and I'd be interested to hear if it's effective.

How can you connect to a VPN server through a VPN once the device has been factory reset without setting up the device and downloading the app and connecting to a server. You would be in the same predicament again. So then user has factory reset again and again......
If an update hasn't arrived for a particular device model number, nothing you can do will get you the update quicker. If we're talking about the 1055 model, that is.

If you do have to factory reset, you configure your wifi and Google account, and download the app from the Play Store. Or, you download the APK from APK Mirror and simply install it. Not inserting the sim card or enabling the GPS would be the important steps if you're trying to get an update that's available but witheld in your region.

I don't have the device and I don't have proof. However, I've been researching the issue of blocked updates by looking at three forums over the weekend and compiling a list of strategies that have worked for some people. The purpose of me doing it is to establish whether or not I want to purchase the phone. I'm happy to go to the trouble of using a VPN to get updates, but I'm not prepared to purchase the phone if it doesn't receive timely updates. That's why I want more people to report if it's a reliable strategy.

Could you provide links to such forums and to where people have stated this approach works. A Vpn usually works for me on other devices, but a seems too many factors involved with getting the update here for example I don't think anyone has got an update on TA-1055,no matter what region. It may have shipped with 8.1 for some though

Very interesting, but strange. Some people with in my region (spain) and with my model TA-1046 have received the update, but I don't. That means that I will never receive the update? Thanks for the information.
As you know, the WP8.1 Store will be closed December 16 2019, and we will no longer be able to download apps.
For some time the Store has been a mess and people are already unable to download apps. Yes, even before the closing date.
The question is: How can we unlock our phones now?
The unlocking methods relies on downloading apps from the Store, like "Preview for Developers", "MixRadio", "HERE Maps" and File Managers.
People who didn't unlock their phones are hopeless? The ones that did unlock and need to reflash the .ffu are hopeless too?
EDIT: Just read about Windows Phone Internals, but some devices are missing in the supported list, including mine.
EDIT2: Some roms have MixRadio installed by default, so it is possible to easily unlock them.
Also downloaded Windows Phone Internals, and to my surprise, my phone is in the supported list (inside the software), although it is not listed at the site.
EDIT3: I got too focused on having the required apps available from the store that I forgot the most important part/tool to unlock the phone: The Windows Phone Developer Registration 8.1 tool. Unfortunately the last time I tried to unlock my phone (some days ago) I wasn't able to, and received an error.
Going by comments, other people have the same issue.
Hi,
Please, Microsoft store for WPhone with W8.1 does not work last days, one month before 16.12.2019! Why? Now, on my Lumia 630 Store does not work! Does it work with you? Thank you.
Nope.

It is not working for a lot of people.
I'm afraid at this point they might not have any incentive to fix this. They can wait until the store closes in one month and forget about it.
I did a reset to the phone (Lumia 1020) and now I'm stuck without anything and with 0000 updates!! error c101a006 since Tuesday!!
if they won't fix the store, is there any way to build WP8.1 Denim CFW with all the stuff I need pre-installed, like I did with Symbian ? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!! HELP!!!!!!!

I can't. My phone is not supported.
I would guess that the majority having this issues are using devices that cannot be upgraded to Windows 10.

Issue is these methods rely on the phone being developer unlocked but today I'm facing an issue where the Windows Phone SDK registration tool refuses to unlock my Lumia 520 on a different CV ROM. Not sure what the issue is since I successfully unlocked it twice in the past couple of days. I know this because I'd installed the CustomWPSystem_0700.xap and applied CustomPFD_0003.xap successfully both times.
But today, it just refuses to go beyond ""Error logging into the Windows Phone Dev Center. Check your Microsoft Account credentials and try again"" and I've no idea why. Funny thing is, it would give the same error on previous tries but the phone would be unlocked!
I understand the WPI method but it feels like overkill with higher risks to do all that for just a few registry changes to trigger updates.
And I don't have much use of a boot loader unlocked or rooted device as of today. Research didn't bring up much help either so I'm thinking of installing the last WP SDK from VS 2015 and see if it does the job.
But yes, though Microsoft says they don't have any immediate plans to remove the updates for the phones, the methods of getting those updates might become problematic.
