im going to change the rom on my 8125, and all my apps are installed to my SD Card. If i put my SD card back in the phone after i install the new Rom, will my applications still be there or will the shortcuts be gone?
shortcuts and programs
if you did not make a backup, your programs will not run .
i mean by this that everything you installed on your device will not run.
when a back up made by using sprite back up or spb back up these programs can be restored
ok i got SPB Backup, i installed it, do i just backup my entire device? or do i have to manually go through the windows folder and stuff and select what to backup? if i backup the entire contents, then install a different ROM, and then restore the backup, wouldnt that fook everything up?

Sprite Backup is the only application that can restore everything after a ROM upgrade, you need to run an Upgrade Util on the old ROM first to capture the .sbu file which is required to restore to the new ROM
what app can i use to get the SBU file?
i have SPB Backup installed, do i just do the entire backup? wouldnt the registries affect the new rom when i restore?
warning: SPB backup can only restore to the exact ROM version you are using now. it won't restore to other ROMs...

Can you tell me where is the upgrade util? I always re-install everything, which also scares me not to make many ROM upgrades.
thanks

i have to 2 nandroid backup file one i did while i was in stock 2 months ago the other one when i was in cognition 2 weeks ago both done in rom manager app
now i m using MikeyMike01's Doc modified rom (build 18) i tried to just to restore the data part of my latest backup in cwm recovery, like i did when i was running Di11i's Darkyy's Raw Steel, but now the restore messed up my phone and i had to re-flash my rom
is there a way to restore my latest nandroid backup in my current rom?
you need to be using Titanium Backup for your app backups. Nandroid is an image of your configuration, much like a system restore in windows (to make a loose comparison)

or SMS Backup+. thats the one i prefer
by the way, you can use TIBU to backup and restore sms+mms also.....
I love my HD2 and i always flash it~
In order to increase speed and avoid widget Disappear of A2SD+, I put a lot of common apps into ROM by using Titanium Backup.
But after I install the New ROM,i need to restore them one by one.
In Titanium Backup batch function, System apps won't get restored in Batch. Only system settings + data will get restored in batch.
I mean can we batch backup system/app and restore(include changed data) to system/app ???
Is there another backup software can batch data apps move to the rom As Well As batch restore apps into the rom? Thank you.

yet it is just a safety backup so u can't use it in another custom rom (wich is probably the reason to do the backup)
there are a few options to extract items out of a nandroid backup tough, but i consider it a hassle

U can use Nandroid backup. For this you have to be root and CWM installed. There is plenty of intructions on how you can do that in the forum.
First of all I woild like to thank everyone out there in the community, you people are just amazing.
Okay see the backup we make through recovery of the rom..i think it is called nandroid backup. but just correct me if i am wrong.
okay the main point is that.. we dont generally do a dirty flash when flashing a new rom..
i have made a backup from recovery and i want to do a clean install of a new rom.
how can i restore my apps?(any other method instead of making apk backups and reinstalling)
I want to restore my data of certain apps also? ( like the additional data file of real racing 3 )
thank you
anyways the backup i made is on ext sd card.
