Wizard Reboots Again, Again, Again - OMAPClock too high? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

The first time using OMAPClock - I set it quite high and enabled it to run on startup.
Now the Wizard reboots shortly after the second splash screen comes up.
So it's in an endless loop of rebooting. I am hoping to flash another ROM anyway but never get to the point of Activesync being connected before it reboots.
Using BlackDiamond ROM but need change anyway because I need the Phone Soft Pause feature to work for entering calling card numbers. But that's a secondary issue.
Is there any way to reflash without having Activesync connected?
Or is there any way to remove OMAPClock from the startup folder?
Or is there any way to boot in Safemode without having already installed that utility?

at start up press power and camera buttons at the same time to get into boot loader

So far so good!
Thanks - that's encouraging - but after it's in the Red-Green-Blue Bootloader, then what? Can I run the Lokowiz or other utilities? Or can I somehow change the startup folder to remove the OMAPClock?

Got it
The updates work OK from the bootloader - thanks.

After Setup Complete - Screen Freeze

Is there a way to format the PDA and reinstall a ROM. My PH20B1 is started to freeze after a ROM is installed and at Complete on the Setup for minutes. I end up just soft-resting cause after mins past its not doing anything....Is there a way to fix that???
Isn't it supposed to be like that? You're supposed to reset after the ROM upgrade shows 100% complete.
I think I understand the problem you have from the limited information supplied.
You have rebooted to a white screen after a failed rom upgrade, correct?
If so, just disconnect your device from the PC, hold power+record buttons, then prod the reset hole with your stylus. You will see "Serial v2.xx" where "xx" can vary. Now attach the phone to your PC (device now shows "USB" instead of "serial").
Next, kill off all activesync processes on the PC (ctrl-alt-del to enter task manager, then end task on "rapimgr.exe", "wcescomm.exe", "wcesmgr.exe").
Now that the device is attached and activesync is killed, start the ROM upgrader application to update the phone ROM.
After successful upgrade, it often helps to reboot the PC as well as the phone, as activesync does not always recover well from having its processes killed.
Im saying that My PDA is starting to freeze. Even after running, its starting to freeze up and I have to soft reset it. I am able to install a ROM on it however at the end of installing the ROM where the screens says COMPLETE...Tap to continue ro begin using your device...and its starts the ROM....As soon as I tap the screen in the middle of starting WM5 it freezes... Ive even downgrade to Wm2oo3SE and it still freezes. But after soft resest there was a message about "system data is corrupted, System will erase all data to fix this error! Yes or No to fix"....Can that be fix or am I able to re-format the PDA hdd and reinstall WM2oo3SE or WM5?
Hi again,
This is a guess, so treat it as such, but I suspect that something in your extended ROM could be causing the problem. On first boot after reflash, a file "autorun.exe" is executed from the extended ROM, and this will normally install a bunch of CAB files.
If something in your extended ROM was corrupt or otherwise not correct, it could cause a lockup on first boot - immediately after calibrating the screen, setting the timezone etc, just as you describe.
The safest thing to do is to revert to the device's complete set of original ROMs, as found in this table :-
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades
The original ROM-set will restore the main ROM, extended ROM and radio ROM to the defaults.
If the problem is fixed afterwards, and you still feel brave enough to upgrade to WM5, then first repartition your device so that the extended ROM is empty. Instructions on how to do this from within WM2003 are found here :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50628
Figured Out A Solution
I figured out the problem and Im not sure if others have experienced this problem or not. Even if you dont created an extended rom on your Blue Angel when changing from rom to rom, if your screen tends to freezes after saying "tap on your screen to begin using your device" you will have to run the DOC repartitioning tool in the Prepartion Folder of some ROMS. Once running the program as the directions tells you and preform a reset even a hard reset on your device, everything will run fine without freezing.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!! pc rebooted during flash!

omg wtf do i do now?! my pc rebooted 31% into the flash.. it blue screened out of no where!
now its stuck on a IPL 2.21 screen!
this happened to me a few times as well. I just re-tried the flash from another machine and it worked fine.
but i cant establish a active-sync connection because the phone wont start it just stays at the 2.21 screen thats red/green/blue/white! omg im about to cry what do i do lol
I have seen the same screen, and have also had the computer blue screen on me probably 3 or 4 times now. When i plugged it into another machine with activesync, i ran the updater and it worked fine.
im trying it right now on 2nd pc still downloading the rom file tho
ok i was able to flash using another computer thank god!
Can you post the steps of reflashing the wizard? I've tried a flash on another system, but it still doesn't work...
My steps:
1. Install Active Sync 4.1
2. Connect the wizard on usb
I've tried to downgrade the wizard with wizbackup. wizbackup need to flash IPL/SPL 1.01. The flash was ended without errors. But now the wizard starts and I only see the three colors and the version of IPL/SPL. Then I connect the wizard, Active Sync doesn't get a connection to the phone.
UPDATE:
In another thread I read that the wizard can't be flashed in IPL/SPL 1.01 without an OS. Can anyone verify this information or help me?
UPDATE II:
I finaly found out, that the phone can be restored with an image from the sd-card.
1. Put an image from the system to sd-card with psdwrite.exe
2. Power Off the phone and put in the sd-card
3. Power on the phone holding the camera key
4. Then the bootloader is coming up, press the voice key during 3s
5. The bootloader upgrades your phone from sd-card
Good luck!
that **** happens to me all the time, it always crashes to the boot loader and once its there you can just restart the upgrade no problem. if you need to boot into the boot loader then simply, from a turned off state, hit the wifi button, voice command button and power button, then release the power only and it will boot into the tri colored boot loader. then reinstall your image and soon you will be kickin it with your **** in it once again! booyakasha!
actually now that i think about it that will just go to the hard reset screen. you really just want to stick the stylus in the reset hole if you need to get to boot loader i think. i dont remember off hand.. just mess with it. if you break it just say you got it that way and exchange that ****

[BUG]Infinite Reboot

Hello.
I'm opening this thread because my Diamond seems to be diying and I wanted to know if someone got an idea.
Yesterday, my phone suddendly rebooted without warning after a month.
I thought It was nothing, but the phone started to reboot allthe time. The phone boot, show my operator logo (befor the winmo loading screen), and then reboot again, again and again.
I decided to do a little Mtty maintenance and reflash (from internal memory). The phone reworked for a couple of hours and restarted to do a reboot loop. I thought the rom I was using was in fault.
Re Mtty maintenant and flashing the phone with mu Prange stock rom. Several hours léter, the phone restarted to boot.
So where I am ?
If I let the phone off (like a night), he will launch windows and will works between a couple of minutes from a couple of hours befoor rebooting. If I put the phone in bootloader mode It won't reboot and will wait with his beautiful rainbow screen. But if I leav the bootloader mode, reboot over reboot, yay !
When the phonedecide to boot completly,it's a regular soft reset, not a hard reset.
Did anyone here have an idea ? Thanks !
How often did you flash since you have your diamond ?
Try to reflash a radio. Maybe your flash memory is dead =/
It sounds like the rom image might be corrupted - I had this problem with a 28003 rom I tried in which the phone would take a hard reset - boot fine - reset and reload fine... and then whenever you tried to restart it after that it went into a boot loop that eventually came up with a screen saying "the phone cannot boot because of uncertified software or incorrect shutdown procedure"
I solved it by putting the phone into bootloader (switch on holding both power key and volume down key) - connecting it to my computer and reflashing it. It DOES NOT need a activesync connection in this mode but you do need the Hard-SPL on the phone (im running olinex 1.40)
hope that helps
Jemma
Thx JoOos and Jemmauk.
But I already tried to reflash the Radio and the rom Image.
I Tried 3 different Rom images.
One orange official , aztor re-evo and an another one.
But the phone don't display any errors. It will just never stop to reboot without saying a thing.
Same problem in a different thread
Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5279740.

Can't flash, hard reset, boot screen, anything!

Earlier this evening I decided to try to get Android working on my Tilt. Through several series of failure to get everything working properly I decided, screw it, I'll go back to WinMo for now.
However, Custom_RUU doesn't work when Windows doesn't recognize a phone...
Oh well. No big deal. I'll flash from my microSD.
Except that I can't get my phone to go to the bootloader.
When I try (holding the camera button) it just stay on the splash-screen indefinitely.
Otherwise, it proceeds to enter Android as per the usual.
This is very frustrating as it renders my phone useless until this is resolved.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
60 views and nobody has any ideas?
Pleeeeeeaaase???
Bootloader is press and hold camera and power buttons while doing a soft reset.
I have tried that. I have tried every combination of buttons whilst reseting possible and it either hangs on the bootsplash or proceeds to boot a non-working Android.
Time to recheck everything's by the book for microSD flashing

So if it's proceding to boot a non-working andriod installation on occasion, then the bootloader is still working (at least some of the time). On those occasions, if you've set up the microSD flash card correctly, it should grab the files off of there and procede to flash itself. You'll need to recheck that everything is correctly setup for microSD flashing. What does the 'splashscreen' as you call it read?
Bootloader for kaiser is camera + power or camera + soft reset holes. The camera button sometime have to be press accurately to get bootloader. It happen to me as well when I bricked my kaiser flashing a full cooked ROM without flashing stock first.

It shows the custom splash screen. No radio info or anything like it used to. It shows the splash screen and then boots. It used to show radio info and version, etc.

I guess that means for those who do want to go the Android way, they need to do so from default HTC provided ROMs (or at least bootloaders/SPLs). You need to try to get into the Bootloader as already explained in this thread (which is the 4 coloured screen and NOT a customised splash screen) before you have any hope of rectifying things. There are good threads about how to recover from being stuck at the Bootloader so you'll need to do some searching and wiki reading.
As Flying Kiwi states, you should look here stuck in bootloader

Energy Rom Problem

For the past few months I've been flashing separate Energy Roms onto my tilt 2. I finally found one that I liked and stuck with it for the past few weeks, which was the Dinik Glass Energy rom.
Everything was running great until last night when I was watching a video on You tube and everything froze up. I pulled the battery out and turned the phone back on and now it keeps going to the boot loader screen....
I've tried re flashing different roms to see if that would work but I've gotten nothing out of it.
If anyone could let me know of anything that i could possibly do to try and fix this I would be highly appreciative of it.
I dont know what may have caused the problem but in your situation i would have tried to do task29, flash radio and then flash a new ROM. this is normally how i flash my roms but task29 may remove somethin that may be causing the problem. if you have already done so, sorry for wasting 5 secs of your life ... let me know if it worked
Can you show me where I can dl task 29 at?
I had the same thing happen to my tilt2 last week!
Use task 29,
dont freak out when it only shows the screen that says touch pro 2.
Enter into bootloader and run ruu from there, it will fix everything.
Dont flash with sd card in or it will happen again.
I had to clear my sd card and reload it! good luck.
one more thing after task 29 do not disconnect from usb until you load next rom, that is what worked for me best.
hope it helps
I used the RUU and i tried reloading the ROM but it still starts in boot loader screen every time.
Should I just hit the hard reset?
you have nothing to loose by a hard reset at this point ... IF that works.
If I hard reset it will I have to flash a hard spl again?
Ok i noticed that yoy are pritty confused about the terminolog, so here is some help:
1. Task 29 - delets your rom of the phone so your phone become practicly unuseble.
2. HardSpl - "Unocks" (allowes) the phone for flashing custom made roms - i.e. all roms and ro preform Task 29.
3. Hard rest - reinstalls allready flashed rom.
4. Soft reset restart the phone - on/of
5. BOOTLOADER - allowes you to flash without activesync and from Sd card.
When any problem turns on with phene i usually check to see if there is any connection running. I discovered that too much internet over phone makes a phone buggy dissregarding the rom.
You dont have to hardspl phone again, once you did is enough.
Okay well here is the problem then... every time I turn the phone on it goes straight to bootloader. The only button I press to turn the phone on is the main power button. I've ran the custom RUU twice now. I've tried flashing a new rom onto the phone via sd card but it still turns on in bootloader mode. I'm nearly freaking out now because I'm led to believe I've got a bricked piece of $hit.
I hate sounding like a noob but if there is some way someone could run a step by step process to me that works I might through some $$ via pay pal.

I had the same problem with a phone about a month ago. I was able to flash the stock rom and it would boot up then put on the stock SPL and relock the phone. Sometimes I was able to take the battery out and get it to boot but even with the stock ROM I was getting the bootloader at startup. So once I reloaded the stock ROM and relocked it, I returned it and got a replacement.
Sorry, nothing I did every resolved the problem.
good luck.
I agree with taking everything back to stock
flash stock rom
do a spl relock
and start over...
oh, and dont forget about radios! idk if that could be part of the problem tho
I never changed the radio's so I should be good to go then, just the stock rom?
Try this :
- Enter bootloader
- Connect USB cable so "serial" in the bootloader changed to "USB"
- Perform Task29
- Reset
- If the phone enters bootloader skip this step. If not, hold volume down key while resetting (push the reset switch with stylus). The phone will enter bootloader.
- Flash a stock ROM. Download it from HTC website if you don't have one.
- Reboot.
Ow, the stock ROM also contains Radio. So Flashing with stock ROM will flash your radio also.

When you returned your phone and got a replacement was your phone starting in boot loader?
If so how did the workers at the ATT store react to that so I know what to expect?

How would you recommend that I flash the stock ROM back on?
I'm kind of confused because I've always flashed with my SD card, how do I do it through my USB? Could you give me a step by step?
Well, those steps I wrote are basically "step-by-step how to flash from usb".
Allow me to clear it:
- Enter bootloader -> Hold volume down button while pushing the reset switch
- Connect USB cable to your computer. and wait until the "serial" word in the bootloader changed to "USB"
- Perform Task29, download task29 and unzip it. run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Follow the instruction.
- Reset/reboot. well, the phone will reboot itself after task29 is completed
- If the phone enters bootloader skip this step. If not, hold volume down key while resetting (push the reset switch with stylus). The phone will enter bootloader. Connect the usb cable again to your computer (if you disconnect it.) and wait until the word "serial" changed to "usb" again.
- Flash a stock ROM. Download it from HTC website if you don't have one. Just run the exe file you downloaded and follow the wizard.
- Reboot.
I reccomend you to flash with stock ROM because Stock ROMs are "Guaranteed to work(at least by HTC )" and contains radio that may be the cause of your problem. there's no need to flash to stock SPL, yet.
I was stuck in bootloader...
You can find task 29 here. I always do this before flashing.
After task 29, make sure USB is still plugged in and enter bootloader by holding Volume Down key while hitting the reset button. You should see USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen.
Now you should be able to flash the NRG ROM by running the RUU in the same folder as your ROM (rhodium.nbh file).
If this doesn't help, search the entire forum for "stuck in bootloader." I did this and it saved me the hassle of the warranty process.

I was able to get it to boot to the ROM by removing the battery several times and reinserting, powering on until it boot. I am on TMobile and called them and they sent me a new phone and returned the old through the mail after expalining the problem. So never went into the store.
good luck.
