Need Advice on a ROM choice. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I have my phone unlocked, and have tried several ROM's, so I am not a complete newb.
That said here is my problem,
I have tried 2 different builds of TNT, several other ROMS, and currently using Octavio's.
TNT is great but I miss calls, which is a show stopper.
One ROM worked great, but the weather did'nt. I may go back to it.
Now with the Octavio load, my battery is lasting about a day. Also when connecting to GPRS no ring or missed call indocation.
I'm not clear exactly what the issue with the rapid battery discharge is, the posts I have read seem to point to either a bad battery (works fine with other roms 2-3 days with GPRS on) or WM6.
I even tried reflashing to the Tmobile ROM as suggested in one of many posts I have read, then reflashing.
Confused.

As is often the case
As soon as I posted this, I tried a different radio rom, now things seem to be working fine. Left the charged 8125 on over night and the battery is still at 100%.

Battery life problems

Right then,
I am a n00b here, and am expecting a bunch of 'search for it' responses that seem common in my reading of the forum over the past day or so. I have tried all of the tweaks recommended and still suffer from poor battery life. Today for example, day 4 of having the phone, and having been charged approximately 6 times during that time, the phone has only 2 green 'bars' of power left after only 8 hours of being on. During that time I have made no phone calls, and sent/received about 8 sms messages.
Anyone have any ideas or similar problems? I understand that this phone suffers from limited battery power, but mine seems particularly bad.
Thanks anyone who can help.
could be a bad battery?
I improved mine by disabling the GPRS auto-attach (massive saving) and truning off wifi using comm manager when not using it but by the sound of it you have tried these...
Mine lasts a few days now.
I also got good results from Bepe's and TDP's ROMs but it's probably nad to flash if you are thinking of sending it back as faulty...
Yes, also as a 'n00b' I'm not too confident flashing it just yet. The battery does get hot during charging, something others say doesn't happen. I think it may be a faulty battery. I have turned off the auto-attach and also wifi, as well as any other tweaks that were mentioned on here regarding battery life. Nothing seems to be working. Anyone else have any input? Thanks.
Same problem here.
I also flashed it with TLR ROM... but the problem is the same and very annoying.
I use it in a very normal way without any strange usages.
For me the battery resists only 75% of the day... and it is terrible!!!
I tried also with the minumum of brightness.... but you can't use it like this all the time!!!
Any suggestions??
Thnx!!
I am thinking of phoning Orange (who I got the phone from) and asking for their help. I think I might have to send the phone back which I really don't want to do. I hope they might just ship me a replacement battery.
wow. u get 4 hours? mines more like 2 hours. im on my 2nd diamond with the same results. i tried all the different roms also. u are not alone. my fix was going back to using my old touch.
You should flash a new rom..I recommend you shep's new rom and get radio 1.12.25.19 with matched rilphone2.dll..your diamond will stop suffering from battery draining.

Just in case you haven't tried all tweaks and tips yet, have a look at this Battery Conservation Fanatic thread.
If the battery is OK, you should try with a new rom. I had the same problem: my Diamond were with Vodafone default ROM and the battery lasted half a day... now with a cooked ROM, the battery lasts near two days.
Good luck!
900 mAh is btw way too small for such a phone, I recommend you to get a new rom/new battery. I'm waiting soooo much on my new 1800 mAh battery........

Battery Problem

Had my HTC Diamond (Orange) around a week now using the ROM that came with it, 1.37.405.1.WWE.
I cant get the battery to last more than 8 hours, on average it lasts 6/7 hours! I am charging it overnight around 12 hours and all bars are full at the start but it drains so fast.
I have turned off 3G, bluetooth, wifi etc... set backlight to go off automatically, generally i have it locked so backlight is dimmed most of the time.
I am not making any calls or even sending texts or actually doing anything, its just laid on my desk while im at work, so who knows how long it would last if i did!
Do you think i have a dodgy battery? i dont fancy sending it back to orange with their stock problems. Would a new battery solve the issue? ROM update? or could it even be a dodgy handset? cheers. J
Well it's a normal lifetime for the Diamond...
(It's a joke...)
If what you sayed is true, there is 3 possibilities :
1) You don't have any network coverage so the diamond is seeking for one and that will drain your battery quickly... (but not sure such quickly..)
2) You're battery is dead ?
3) You'd installed an application that drain your battery.. try a hardreset to see....
I'll try a hard reset.
I'm making sure no apps are open also, Task Manager is empty. Could there be anything else running secretly in the background.
I've seen the stories of bad battery life, but 6/7 hours just seems ridiculous considering im not even using the phone, just leaving it in a state of unlocked...
I have had my Diamond for about a month now, and had been suffering from most of the usual battery issues, I am running Dutty;s Project V2 rom
A few days ago I downgraded to the .05 radio and this seems to have cured the battery issue, I do turn off bluetooth and 3G when I dont need them.
This does seem to have cured things nicely, looks like the phone will last 2 days or so
Bloke

Sometimes wrong with my diamond!!

I Have A HTC Diamond Stock Rom (CDMA) But the problem is my battery is pathetic..it only last barely over an hour at the most if i'm continually talking! And when it goes dead, i cant charge it and talk on it at the same time or send texts as it's not enough power to run..it basically just drains slower than normal instead of gaining.. It takes well over four hours to charge completely, and even then its dead after an hour or so of talking! I keep the backlight on the lowest settings...and i keep my bluetooth off. About 6-7months ago i got a new replacement phone, but they made me keep the original battery i had from my defective phone, so I dont know if its the battery or the actual phone. So what next?? Can Sprint give me a new battery for free ??Or should i get a whole new phone?? Would a new battery solve my problem??? I Just know that somethings not right here!!
"Stock" is the problem. The original stock rom has horrible battery life. If you want to stay stock, you can at least see if you are running the newest stock rom (HTC did have an update I think). Otherwise I recommend trying out one of the ROMS the devs come up with.... they all beat stock (well usually). Make sure to read up on flashing to new ROMs before jumping head first....
You can also change out your radio ROMS which can help battery life/heat issues too.
try looking at cooked roms. i have switched to custom roms and havent looked back.
Mighty mike is your saviour.

[Q] Bad phone or Bad flash? Please tell me I've been doing everything wrong..

First off, an introduction. I seem to have bad luck with Android devices. Oh well, I love them anyway! Had a Galaxy S Captivate, Then a Tmobile Galaxy S 4G, and finally my N7000.
Problems have come with every device. The Captivate couldn't connect with Odin back in the day, so every flash was a dirty flash since I couldn't go stock. The Galaxy S 4G would constantly have problems. It was fine for awhile, but the ROMS never lasted. Always started to restart and glitch out. Random reboots, etc...
Now for my Note. It has been a great phone, despite a few drawbacks. It's over 2 years old; I purchased it right after they first came out. It worked great for about a year, even on custom roms. The last year, I've fallen way behind in the development area, but I've always ran custom. This whole year, I've been battling a couple huge issues. It started out as bad battery life. No big deal, I thought. Check stats, find the source, fix it. Then I try to flash a new rom. Still doesn't work. I end up living with the issue. That problem escalated into restarts, and even worse battery life. A flash or two later, and nothing worked better. Eventually, about half a year ago, I noticed my battery was started to swell. Thought that was the source of everything. I was wrong. New battery, and my phone is running just as bad, while getting steadily worse daily.
Presently, my phone is a mess. It's running ParanoidAndroid 4.3, BUT I am downloading the Team Asylum Kit Kat ROM right now as I type this. On PA, I have left the phone nearly completely stock since the flash. I followed the installation perfectly, even completely formatting both my internal and external SD cards to ensure a 100% new flash. Of course, it didn't help. Currently, my phone's battery won't last a day on light usage. 9 hours of life, and it will be to 5%. The last 30% of life drops EXTREMELY fast. When the phone was new, I would go 2 days on a charge easily. The source of this battery loss appears to be the infamous ANDROID OS, but I could never find the source, despite multiple apps trying to monitor my CPU and Batterystats. The phone runs Ok enough for daily use to the point where I have dealt with it. The phone will freeze completely every now and then, and a lot of the times it is on the lockscreen. On a complete freeze, it always results in a fast reboot after a minute or so. The last problem I can think of is my inability to read the external SD. A few weeks ago, my phone froze up completely, like normal, so I yanked the battery and rebooted. It started up as normal, but my external SD was nowhere to be found after that incident. No idea what happened, and I haven't had the time to try and get it working again.
Thank you to whoever took the time to read this. I'm sure some of my issues have already been covered in other threads, but I've tried things before and nothing seems to help. Maybe I just have a defective unit. It is getting old after all. I'd really appreciate anyone who might be able to help me resolve these issues. Getting this thing running smooth again would be like Christmas morning all over again.
QUICK SUMMARY FOR THOSE THAT DON'T WANT TO READ EVERYTHING
The phone is over two years old. Used to work good, now it doesn't.
-Replaced battery earlier this year since I noticed swelling in the original.
-Battery life is terrible. Dies after 9ish hours on LIGHT usage. ANDROID OS is the culprit. Used to last 2 days or more.
-Random restarts and lots of freezing.
-Freezing caused my external SD to completely disappear. Haven't been able to get access since.
-Running ParanoidAndroid 3.4. Flashing a new rom after I type this, but it probably won't change anything.
There's your short summary, although I may have already answered some of your suggestions up in my original post. If you can, at least read the second to last paragraph.
Again, thanks to anyone who can offer assistance! It would mean a lot to me since I feel like I still haven't gotten my money's worth out of this thing. Unlocked phones are spendy...
I would go back to stockbased custom roms 4.1.2 I found them very bettery friendly.

In my opinion you do something wrong. I tried several roms and never had strange battery or random reboot problems. Im now on AryaMod V4 and before SweetRom 10.5 and months before SlimBean 2.2 4.3.1 , all excellent Roms.

I've used SweetRom, ParanoidAndroid, Asylum, and Stunner, as well as many different versions of them all. They all worked great back in the day. I'd run them for long periods of time without any big issues. It's just lately, the problems are getting worse, and I don't see how I could be doing anything wrong with the installation.
Installed the latest 4.4.2 Asylum Omni last night. It's running really smooth so far. Other than having it fail to load the google startup thing on first boot, it has been working great. A restart fixed that, and nothing else has happened. Battery life is dropping pretty quickly however, but I need to run it through a few cycles to see how it works. I'm at 65% after 6.5 hours with light usage and 34min of screen on at max brightness. Screen is back on top of the list, as it should be, and is far exceeding Android system and OS, so I'm hoping it works better now. Time will have to tell on this ROM, but I'd still love to figure out why I've had so many problems with other flashes.

Awful battery life and don't know what to do about it.

I am using a sprint m7 that has been RUU'd back to stock 4.4.2 after problems with flashing a rom. The battery life doesn't last from when I go to school at 8 to coming home at 4 with maybe an hour of use. This is a shot of my stats: http://i.imgur.com/ATWiQ6t.png
Now, there is an update available, but after I download/install it, it takes me to through the setup process and literally wipes my data after the reboot.
Now, I don't know if there is actually something wrong with my phone, but I have had some really bad experiences with attempting to flash roms recently, and I always end up having to ruu back to stock.
Here are my wakelocks: http://i.imgur.com/kBEzRVv.png
So, does anyone have any suggestions about improvement or what I should do? I have seen many posts in many different places online, but there is really no clear, concise fix known. Thanks.

Are you rooted? If so, install Greenify and run it. It's great for solving wakelocks. I had some battery problems for a while myself, and found the biggest culprit for me was poor service / searching for service. Sounds surprising, I know. I've also read (and found it to be true), that you need to give your new operating system 3-4 full discharges of the battery to get an accurate feel for battery life. One other thing I've noticed is when the green LED comes on, it doesn't necessarily mean your battery is 100% charged. It will slow the charging to a trickle that can take a long time to completely top off your charge. For instance, I would unplug my One, and 10 minutes later have 95% charge and have done nothing to show for it.
Between RUU's, you could always make a backup on your computer of your important data, that way you can keep it stored in a safe place. I prefer going the USG-OTG route, but that's due to my so-so computer.
Are you S-OFF, and what recovery have you been using? I'm also curious what ROMs you have struggled with. I've dabbled with a lot of different ones and have finally settled into 2 different Sense6 Roms.
