I've searched for an answer in these forums and can't find one. I have tried some suggestions from here to no avail. Well...here's the problem. I've had my Tilt for a couple of months. All has been great and i love it...up until now.
I've put several roms on it and they've all worked fine. Got that down...I thought. I can't get activesync to see the tilt on any of my computers. It won't find it on the laptop I've been using to load. My desktop at work, that I've been using sometimes to load it, won't see it and it won't even connect on a new computer in my office with fresh ASync 4.5. Like I said....it has been working fine I just decided today to load a new Dutty rom and I can't even hook up. Wow....this is so aggravating. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Activesync is still on the tilt too. I've killed the program in taskmgr. I've stopped all running apps in the tilt. I have 2 different cables also. By the way....I don't care to wipe it clean...if I need to. Any suggestions as to what I can do? If anyone's got any clues to what my problem could be I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance for responses.
Desparate!
Please help me....if you can. I know there's a tremendous amount of knowledge here. Surely someone's been through this same problem and was able to fix it. I've seen another post similar to this and he's not getting an answer to his problem either. If I we need to contact HTC....please recommend that. Some of you "tilt masters" please respond. Thanks in advance.
Also I had a similar problem and i had installed a blackberry program on my tilt. That created a connection problem between my tilt and the sync program and it couldnt see my tilt. I figured out that the blackberry desktop program thought it had dibs on my tilt because the bb was on my tilt. I removed the BB off my tilt it did a hard reset and then proceeded to manually remove every windows mobile device partnership there were many. Rebooted my computer and tried it again and it worked. You could try a hard reset and then and then use system restore to a few days before you had the problem and see if you can trick it.
I had this problem.
Hard-Reset fixed it
Thanks for the replies....I've tried the hard reset twice and that didn't work either. Have been on the phone with HTC support and we did several things. Still not working. He was supposed to call me back in 10 min but didn't for a couple of hours. Anyway...I've got to contact them back and take up where we left off. Surely we can get this thing going again. If HTC can fix it....no one can. When we get it up and going...i'll report back here for others future needs. The phone works great besides that!
Again thank....and anyone else have a suggestion.
Please respond to...

Thanks..
Check the USB pins on the unit, mine were bent down and did not make contact, i think from memory the 3rd pin in is the data connection.

Hi everyone..
I am a somewhat profiecient Tilt user.. had a few windows mobile phones before.. and had my tilt over a year.. I never had any problems with the WM 6.0 rom so I never upgraded it.... But now I ahve a problem... Today my GPS wasn;t locking on so I reset the phone, and as usualy it fixed the problem.. but now my messaging (and email) won;t work...
I have the HTC Home Installed (been installed a long time) and I use the buttons on the clock screen on it to access my MMS and Email... I went to send a txt and it did nothing.. I thought hte phone was froze.. but other stuff works.. I tried email next.. same problem... It also says the MSVC has encountered a problem and that is not working either.. it all happened at the same time....
The real problem is I have my phone EXACTLY how I wanted it.. with this tweek and that tweek... This program and that program.. this setting & that setting... sigh... I have an odd provider (Einstein PCS) so I had to set up all custom MMS, Email, Internet, and other setting that took a long time to get them all just "right"... I thought the SD card may have went, but other software that I know is on the SD card runs fine (including tomtom)... Any suggestions from anyone before I do hard reset? Please.. I don;t want to have to redo everything...
Retrace your steps
Hi
I have found that when something stops working after installing new software, if I uninstall any software, in the reverse order it was installed, this usually restores functionality. Uninstalling one piece of software at a time and running trials in between uninstallations usually helps to identify the culprit. If you haven't actually installed new software to co-inside with the failure then this advice is no good for you.
For future reference I would recommend using Sprite Backup (I think that the latest version is 6.5 and can be found on their website). With this software you can make a back up of your existing configuration prior to installing any new software. Then, if anything goes wrong you can just hard reset and run the backup file (stored as an .exe file) from the storage card and you'll get back to exactly where you were before the install.
Hope all that helps.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice but I did nto install anything.... I will get that sprite backup though for future use... thank you.... What I did find this morning is this...
http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/107262...&maxResults=20
It seems many other people have had MOST of the same problem... When I followed the directions and deleted the inbox om my SD card, it fixed everything... even the Microsoft Voice command.. no idea how they are related, but it must be.... The only problem is that now after doing all this research on new ROMs, I found one I want to try... now I gotta decide if I want to go through all that work if I don;t have to... I think I will do the sprite backup.. download a default at&T 6.0 rom if I can find one.. then TRY The new rom.. if I hate it.. install the default rom and resotre my settings.. Thansk for you help though

Do you have your Einstein settings. I haven't been able to get my Fuze to connect reliably. I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks!
Hey Guys,
first of all, I love this site, lurking for serveral years but posted next to nothing as most things are already discussed and the search function is your friend
hands down for all the great info here!
now, I had pushmail configured on my tytn 2, all running smooth on my wm 6.5 build, as I went on vacation my password expired and when I got back to work today I wanted to change my password on my pc as well as on my PDA.
it went well, BUT... I can't seem to store incoming mail in the correct folder.
I can send and receive stuff, but as soon as it is in the mailbox and I , for example reply to it and afterwords get back to the inbox the mail is gone....
I can sync both through my pc and via GPRS with no problem, it syncs my task, contacts etc, just not my mail, tho it is marked in the exchange menu.
it doesn't state that it is having issue's with syncing, no error code what so ever.
I tried everything I could imagine, soft reset, hard reset, deleting hard reset, new account, basicly everything I tried to start back from scratch.
when I first flashed to the wm 6.5 build, I had no issue's what so ever, pushmail was working flawlessly.
did anybody encounter this as well? and is there a solution for it?
thanks in advance for replying
Hello to everybody...
I tried several Rom like Touch X, Touch IT - Touch IT Leo, Valkirie, FireStorm, XPERIO, etc. But I'm having a lot of troubles with the Sync process, for example:
(1) When I end the Rom installation and I made the sync process, it can't end ...
(2) When it happen I unplugged the device ... plugged again and the WMC can't recognized it.
(3) Some time I have the message: Desktop synchronization cannot be completed. Reduce your mailbox size by deleting some items and folders and try again
(4) I have to do soft reset to the device, restart the computer and if I had luck the sync works. Sometimes, when I use the IJTE’s LEO ROM, in order the WMC recognize the device I had to push the USB connection button (the one that seems don’t work) … and some time the WDC works.
I'd like to know if someone had that kind of troubles and if found some solution.

Try deleting the mobile device in Active Sync and try again.

Hello ... and thaks for your help, I did it ... sometimes works ... I tried changing the outlook profile too and sometimes works too ...
But doing that all the time make me fell tired and worried about all the time I wasted ... I think is something that is not rigth in some setup of my mobile device because when I use the original rom of my Xperia I did not have troubles with Sync ... I would like to know if someone had or has that kind of troubles with the sync process.
Thanks ...

first, you can try turning off the Enable advance network functionality.
if that didn't work, try changing the following registry settings:
HKLM\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RNDIS\MaxOutTransfer=1642
HKLM\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RNDIS\MTU=1514
they are currently set at 8192 and 8064 respectively.
as for the error message Reduce your mailbox size by deleting some items and folders and try again, try moving attachements to your SD card. iif it is, then you might want to reduce the number of days to sync.
hope this helps

Sometimes when I have problems after flashing ROMs I just delete the detected mobile device and let it re-establish settings. Sometimes it takes seconds...sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes. BUT after that I don't have problems anymore until the next time I reflash the ROM.
USB to PC connection
Hi sfreirez,
You can try to change your USB to PC connection by ticking Enable faster data synchronization option.
Thanks to everybody, I tryed the tips you mencioned ... but now i did my first sync disabling the network funcionanlity ... but in the settings'/conection/usb conection ... not in the registry .. and it seems that is working .... I will let you know how it's works .. thanks to everybody again.

Hey guys,
I bought a HTC Touch Diamond in Dec 2008 and it was more or less fine until a few weeks ago when it just messed everything up. I brought it back to the store and got a new one last Friday. I was busy setting it up the whole weekend (installing Skype, Palringo, Fring, registry editor, .cab-file to get rid of the problem that the keyboard is not changing back to letters (was stuck in numeric mode), Google maps didn't work etc etc.
But now I have a new weird problem. After all the installations, everything worked fine. Then I started to put some pictures via bluetooth on the device, all fine, but out of a sudden, it's so sloooooooow!!! First I thought it's not working at all anymore, but by now I found out that it just takes ages to open programs, e.g. File Explorer, Browser, Settings... or when I receive a sms or email and click on it to open it fully... doesn't matter what I do, except using touch flo, this is working fine. And when the programs are finally running (after no joke about a minute), they are running very fast.
I have a Vodafone branding but am using it with an o2 sim. I never did a rom update or anything.
Does anybody know what that could be and could you help me???
Of course I could just return it again, but it would really suck as I just set it up, put all the contacs on etc (Active Sync isn't working as my pc has vista...), so it would be really great if anybody could help me!!!
Cheers,
mondiera

To save you a lot of time. You do not have to install some kind of ActiveSync on Vista. It is included and called DeviceCenter. Just a new name but with the same functionality as ActiveSync.
Did you soft-reset the device when noticing that it takes to much time to load an application?
Did you disable TouchFlo (eats a lot of RAM) for some time to see what happens?
Hey,
Thanks for answering so quickly... Yes, I did MANY resets, but it doesn't help. I also deleted a lot of files again, but didn't help either, and there's not much on the device anyway (data storage 51.45MB full, 34.37MB free, program storage 64.14MB full, 46.90 free, internal storage just 37.72MB full). And yes, I also enabled touchflo but it didn't help as well. As I said, touchflo is working fine, when the programs are running they are very quick within the application (quicker than my old device was), but UNTIL they are open, it really takes about 40-60 seconds - just not acceptable!
And thanks for the tip with the Vista Device Center, but I just connected the phone via usb, opened this Vista Device Center, clicked on settings, chose usb/bluetooth etc, the device asked whether to connect via Active Sync which I confirmed but now nothing is happening? And Vista Device Center says it's not connected...? This phone is really driving me insane! Seems like I have to return it again because I really can't work with it being sooo sloooooow :-(

I think you should. Maybe you should first try to connect to ActiveSync with your next device and after that start installing.
I'm sorry that I can't help you out.
You hav a faulty memory chip. Get it replaced.
