Text message's recieved time is an hour a head? A fix? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I searched but nothing relevant. Is there a fix for this?
Ok, so I receive text massages fine, but the time it shows that it was received an hour later. . .

I think this is because of the way the message is sent... You must have received the message from the country / operator who is 1 hr ahead of you...

I am using dutty's WM6.1 ROM and I have a different problem. I send a text and the phone shows that it was sent at 3:08 pm, but then when the person responds it shows that it was sent at 12:11 pm. This happens all the time. My texts will display the correct time, but the incoming ones are displayed as a few hours behind. The people I am texting are in the same town as I am, so it isn't a time zone thing.

Nope, same city. So what could be the problem? Hey OT but did you know Mike Tyson is gonna fight in Dubai, my friend is gonna promote him over there, has it been announced over there?

No Idea

OT:
Oh, well. When it does you will see me there .
What would be the problem guys?

do you have automatic change timezone ticked? I usually have this unticked so only my activesync updates my phone.

Hmm, I will see.
Nope, it made it worse. . .

Mine does this too but all incoming text messages show 1 hour behind when they are the same city as me. I've checked all my settings. My emails are correctly displaying time. Any other ideas?

I think it's an AT&T issue rather than a phone issue.
I get the same thing.

Text messaging timestamp is WAAYY off

Hey guys,
I dunno if any of you are having this problem, but my time stamp on my messages received are off by an average of 1 hour from the current time when I receive the message!!! Im using the leaked Tmobile aku2.3....
I have the right time zone selected and i disabled automatic time zone change, as well.
Not a big deal but its annoying as hell!!! Any suggestions???
P.S. Thanks for another excellent addition summiter......
I guess you are referring to the time which is shown on any mesages which are received from your phone.
This is normally the time which the message was sent out from your SMS Service Centre (aka your Operator). Check with them!
i am actually having the same issue...
does anyone know what is causing this?
could the center that my text message is being routed to, be in a different time zone?
of all the brains on this forum, someone must know why this is...
if that message was sent from a different time zone, the timestamp will be of that time zone. for example im residing in england, but when i recieve texts from my friends in teh US and singapore, the timestamp will be of the time sent in US or singapore.
this happens to me only when i roam on cellular one's network... tmobile is my home network

SMS Sending help, very very weird..

Hi everyone. I have searched through the forums and yes, I am a noob. I don't even flash roms with my 1 week old kaiser yet because i am still studying about them and find the process risky and hard..
anyway, I send texts on an average of aroudn 100 to 150 a day and i noticed that sometimes, text message I sent get received by the people I text really really late. Like there is a lag time of around 1 hour. This happens when there is no notification comes out on my screen after sending the message but, the message i sent is in the SENT ITEMS folder..
sometimes also, I receive texts late..
guys, please help me with this.. I am really scared and all. I hope someone from you people could help me.. please.. thanks..
its not the phone, its the network, they have lags in their servers, thats why it happenes! if it is ATT and ur in south texas, that is happening to all of us for last 5days! even call drops.
well, i am from the philippines man.. hehe
hmm, you sure it's in the network? cause bro, i used to have a simple nokia phone and this stuff does not really happen.. zzz..
It's a mixture of your network and maybe the network your sending to. Your provider may be performing upgrades or something. I used to work for nextel and they had big problems with the txt messaging provider they used working with other providers.
If your worried then back everything up or sync it to your computer and then hardreset your phone.
The Kaiser is very loud about letting you know if your message didn't get sent. So if it goes into your SMS Sent Items folder, it is, alas, out of your hands.
SMS is like email. Most of the time its instant. Yet sometimes it not, due to any number of things. Such as, usages spikes, peak usage time, server hiccup, server crash, or just plan server silliness.

Text Message Time Delay?

Has anyone ever have their text message time different then the real time? It says I sent a text at 10:35 PM, which is correct, but I recieved one from the other person at 6:29 pm ?
Im using Dutty's rom.
It has a problem with what network you are connected too. It is an AT&T thing.

It's not an AT&T thing. People, there are other network operators in the world.
I've got this problem too BTW
Sorry, I have only heard of AT&T customers having the problem. I have this problem as well.
I know this is not att issue, cause I had experienced it in India, and in USA. I think its the server from which message hits u, may be servers were resetting or setting up to new time.... just speculations
Anyone ever figure this out?
I'm on Rogers in Canada and ALL my text messages are 5 hours behind. lol
I am also in Rogers and my SMSs time stamp lags by 4 hours. Has anyone found a fix for this annoying thing?

[REQ]Auto-Send SMS txt message on connection

Hello, I was wondering if there was a developer out there who would be able to solve this little issue. On the Fuze, when you dnt have service, and try to send a txt message, it just says, cannot send, and sends it to your drafts folder. Now when you re-connect, it doesnt send the messages in your draft folder, so you forget about them, and never send them... Could it be possible to make a tweak or program that at each re-connect, the phone checks the drafts, and if there are any un-sent messages, it will send them? I will be happy to buy someone some lovely coffee for their services. Thanks.
i second that. i have poor reception in my command center and im constantly drifting in and out of service and not sending texts
BUMP... Anyone??
I would like this too!
Could be very nice!
i fourth that request.
YES!! Please. This is very annoying if you're in basements often.
I also would like that...!!!!
It seems all the chefs are busy....
=(
what we need is a program that will allow incoming messages to come in altho the last txt wasnt sent.
what happens is, when you realize you havnt been getting texts for the past hr you take a look at you texts and see that the last text couldnt be sent which prevents incoming texts.
Oh i really need this. At my dad's house signal is patchy so i have to wait for my TP to find signal before i can repush send... bugs the f..k into me.
Yes please!

Well, I don't think that is the way we should go. Sometimes I get 25 messages in one hour, sometimes 2 a day. And I would have to go into the messages folder to see that the last message didn't get sent but was put in the drafts folder.
I would be more then happy to kick in a few bucks to the person willing to work on this.

[Q] Incoming SMS Timestamp off by -5 hours

Hey guys,
I have an unlocked HD7 from Bell and I'm using it under Rogers right now. I have a problem where my incoming SMS are behind by 5 hours. (They come right away but the stated time on them is off by 5 hours).
I tried fiddling with the timezone settings to match the times but then it messes up my calendar times.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Joey
Anyone figure this out?
I am 2 hours out (thinking it has to do with where the Bell SMS center is located)
hoping someone can figure out a fix
I am in Calgary, AB, Canada and using Fido if that makes a difference. I am thinking I could update to a different ROM, anyone know if that will work and what ROM I should choose?
thanks in advance
This is a known issue at Microsoft i mentioned it to them when i went there for an interview as well the only way to fix it is by doing the following.
1) goto Settings> Date & Time>
2) Turn off "set automatically"
3) Set Time Zone to "UTC Coordinated Universal Time"
4) Manually enter the correct time in the "Time" field
5) Adjust the date if you have to.
And Save and restart your phone this should fix the issue its not an actual fix but it works.
Well I took your advice and changed the timezone to UTC - 03 (then manually set the time)
Seems to have done the trick; will just have to remember to adjust for time zones I guess
thanks
Wait; spoke too soon
that messed up all the times for my email, the emails are all time stamped 3 hours in the future.
Oh well, guess I will just never have that "Perfect" phone.
Just annoying as this HD7 is probably the best phone I have ever had but there are so many of these annoyances...

What email are you using on the device? Outlook or just a standard Hotmail / Live acct? I will be unlocking my Bell HD7 very soon to use it on Rogers as well and I do not use Outlook so if the fix above sorts out the TEXT issue and does not bother my "Hotmail / Live" email then I will be a happy man however... I dont really use my email on my phone that much anyways so I guess as long as this fixes the SMS timestamp issue then I should be fine.
At any rate... If you could let me know anyways I would appreciate it.
***EDIT*** I tried this today after unlocking my Bell HD7 and running it on Rogers and it did not work at all. Now instead of the time stamp being 4 hours slow, it is now 2 hours fast using Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). Anyone else know how to get a proper time stamp on SMS after unlocking and using on a different network?
I just gave up and am now licing with a 4 hour tamestamp issue on my text.
my email, calendar and everything else works so this is just something I guess I have to live with. Not that bad
Email via hotmail & yahoo using the WP7 email program
My EVO does the same thing. Only when my cousin sends MMS he's on cricket. It has also done it when the towers messed up in my area.

Ya... Same with me. I gave up as well and am now living with the timestamp issue on my texts, mms, etc... My outgoing texts go out at the right time and are being received by the recipients at the right time but when I receive a text it is out of wack.
What I dont understand is that when I get a text and I get the "toast notification" at the top of my phone, the time stamp there is CORRECT but when I open my messages and look at the actual message itself it is out of wack. WEIRD!!!
Does yours do this as well?
