someone else also has this problem?
i'm trying to install tomtom 6.03 on the himalaya with the new wm 6.1 rom. but when i try to install i get the message that tomtom navigator cannot be installed? i cannot install it to the storage card, ram disk or whatever... any suggestions? i tried to install both tomtom 6.03 cabs (ttn.cab= wm5/6 and ttn2003.cab=wm2003/ppc2003 version). neither of them let me install
i think you need a newer version of your tomtom 6.
i instaled the latest build yesterday without any problems.
i used version 6.032 (build 8351).
i tried the 6.032 cab, and still no luck... unable to install. i downgraded to the wm6 rom, same story here. the i downgraded to the wm5 rom, after which i was able to install tomtom 6.03 on it.... it is strange.... i'll try to upgrade to the wm6.1 rom again, and i will try to install tt 6 again. see if it works..

here is the link for the tom version i used.
http://www.binsearch.net/?q=6032_build_8351&max=100&adv_age=28#r
maybe this one will work
thanx for the link, but that is already the cab file that i used. but, i'll reflash wm6.1 on it and install (or at least try to) tt6 on it again.
i reflashed wm6.1 ==> not able to install tomtom 6 (any version). i once again get the message that 'tomtom navigator cannot be installed'
strangely, with the wm5 rom (and only the wm 5 rom) i was able to install the same tomtom 6 cab files...
Hey guys could you provide a post to the cab?
weiss ich nicht
weiss auch nicht wie ich dir helfen kann, sorry.
I'm having the same problem with Lalle's ROM (don't wanna blame the ROM, though). My guess is, that those newer ROMs are simply bigger and don't leave enough space for TomTom on the device. Any other ideas?

The Destinator is e navegation software

If you want help with with WM2005 on a Himalaya device, I would recommend asking at the Himalaya forums, not here, as the Blue Angel has no WM2005 yet.

Hello,
I have installed the last version of Destinator (5.1.65) on a Himalaya running Windows Mobile 5 and I didn't have any errors.
But I had a lot of trouble connecting the Bluetooth GPS and configuring the COM port. I recommend to read http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...0&postorder=asc&highlight=destinator&start=25
As far as I know since 05/09/2005 and thanks to almighty buzz_lightyear you can upgrade Blue Angel to, see http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59&task=listcat&catid=3
I have Destinator PN as well and have problems with it on WM5. The install fails running from Activesync or by manually copying the cab files to my SD card and running from there. I managed to get it to run by restoring files from a backup i had. But i cant connect to my bluetooth gps. Under WM2003SE i was connecting to com port 6. i tried what WC posted with the tomtom patch for com 6 but it still wont work. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks

Destinator PN running WM5
Hi Guys,
Just installed Destinator PN to my BA running WM5. Installed OK and running sweet.
Anyone having installation error - processor or OS type error. There is a solution. Locate the file default.ini in your DestinatorApps folder. Double click on it , it should open with Notepad. Scroll down to the Platform section and insert this line P2577v351=ARM save and close. Then try installing your software from the Destinator Console.
Have fun.
@tcmg1666, what WM5 rom version are you running? I have mamaich's 2nd patched rom and Destinator's install has always failed for me. I'm going to try what you suggested now and see if it works.
Edit: I have just hard reset and still cannot complete Destinator installation. The Destinator install program will install Destinator English but fails on the rest of the package. I am able to install the TextToSpeech part ok. tcmg1666, I would really appreciate if you could tell me what rom you are running and how your install went. Also what version of Activesync are you running? I am using 4.0 build 4343. Thanks
Destinator PN with WM5
Efjay, I am running with Maimaich BA_WM5_Patch2. My Rom version 5.03.02WWE, Radio 1.13.00. I am using Activesync 4 build 4343.
I am sorry to hear that you are having problem with your Destinator PN installation. My installation went smoothly from the Destinator Desktop Console. I did not have to hard reset after the installation. Just launched Destinator on the device and it executed straight away. Destinator found my wired GPS straight away. I have a Seido Car mount with wired GPS, it worked beautifully.
Can you tell me what sort of error on installation?? Glad to help if I can.
Did you get the 'Unknown Processor type or OS type??
@tcmg1666 thanks for replying. My problem is this: when I install from the console it will look like the install has finished. I get the prompt to check my device. On the phone I will get 2 prompts; the first to install Destinator English will succeed. the second prompt will be to install Destinator Apps; this will try to install then give me the message installation was unsuccessful. As I said I tried a hard reset and still get the same result. I don't get any other errors. I can install the TTS engine with no problems. I have also tried reinstalling the console. Nothing has worked so far . I did try what you suggested as well. Any ideas? what version of destinator do you have?
DEstinator PN with WM5
Efjay, sorry to hear of your installation problem.
I am stumped. I am running Destinator PN version 5.1.118 in my Blue Angel.
May I suggest you try and remove Destinator from your device and do a hard reset and then try to re-install Destinator afresh in Main Memory and if you are sucessful, the Maps can be installed in your storage card. Apart from that I have run out of idea. As I said I did not encounter any installation problems on my device.
tcmg1666, I am running (under 2K3SE) version 5.1.65. I bought it from Routeplanners.co.uk around July. Seems I have a later version than yours which you would think is more compatible. Is yours the European version? Maybe the version number is the clue as to why its not working and Destinator need to update the software. Thanks for all your help.
Edit: just to add i have also tried reinstalling the console on my pc, hard resetting the BA, deleting all folders and registry entries and install still fails.
Destinator PN
EfJay, I am running Destinator PN Australian version. I got it from www.pressdigital.com.au .

Ok, I think you are fine but let's check.
1. TomTom always says "no gps device" for a few moments. Give it some seconds to initialize the gps device. If that doesn't work, check you gps settings and set it to either "build in gps device". Then wait 10 minutes to get a fix (make sure the device is able to reach satellites). If you have no fix after 10 minutes set the gps to "NMEA gps" COM9 and wait another 10 minutes.
2. If above didn't work, it could be a problem with your WM6 rom. Which WM6 rom did you use?

Hi all,
Following on my problems with installing tomtom on the Kaiser shiped ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349842), I would greatly appreciate if someone can provide me with an English dumped ROM that includes tomtom, or allows for tomtom to be installed without having to perform some sort of hack to do so.
Thanks in advance...
TomTom was never included in the ROM. It was on the CD that came with the phone.
Right, but this means that your version of the OS is allowing tomtom to be installed...
Mine gives me an error message thet I have to upgrade my ROM before trying to install.
Also on the HTC shop site, where you can buy tomtom, it clearly states that it will work only on devices that were shiped with tomtom on the first place.
Therefore, I assume that your version will be the one that allows to install tomtom flawlesly...
So if it's not too mutch trouble...

locate the cab file, mine gave me the same error when installing from pc. just run the cab and it should load, no problemo
I have the hong kong version tytn II, and installed the tom tom and downloaded a free map without any problem, i just install it for the fun of it, since tom tom in hong kong is useless, downloaded the cab from somewhere.
In hong kong tom tom is non existance, we use map king, so i think as long as the ppc is wm5 or 6, in should be ok to install.
kms
if i reflash my rom, will i be able to download another free map? i kinda downloaded the wrong city. THanks.

I tried that and it's not working... Krypt told me about how to overcome this in the tread mentioned in my original post, but this way I can only start the executable by going there with file explorer.
What I wanted to do is to have tomtom listed in the start->programs folder. I suppose there is a way to do so by tampering with the registry, but I have no clue as to how to do it.
Moinsen,
I`ve got a Problem. I updatet my XDA Mini S G4 with Hard SPL to a german wm 6.1 rom. My problem after that ist, that i can`t activate tomtom maps now. I installed it like on every other phone too. TomTom 7.915...., than I activate the map with easyusetool. But the xda says that the map is not activatet and shows me the device-id, i`ve take for the activation. Is it because of the hard spl? or what is my fault. I Installed tomtom on three other xda`s (terra and mini s original rom) and it run perfektly, only on this with the hard spl there is a problem, what is the solution?
Please help me fast..
Thanks
Error Message: "The program you have installed may not display properly because.."
Hello Guys,
Has anyone of you encountered this error message? "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows mobile software".
I encountered this problem when i downgraded my rom from Master Efsane's WM6.5 to 2003se..Before that, the hima doc tool of Masther Ather doesn't work so i tried the other hima doc tools on this site..anyway, i tried flashing my himalaya with different roms but i keep on getting this error message. Right now i couldn't use some applications that are previously working with wm6.5. I already tried to flash different EXTroms but it didn't resolve the issue..this is very frustrating..please advise..
I'm using Sundream's 6.5 and I always get that message after installing programs but they still work just the same. it's just a warning. the only way to know is to try the program after installing.
Oh I see your problem. You said you downgraded from 6.5 to 2003se. Definitely not compatible. At least Use WM5 or greater for compatibility with 6.5 programs.

Let me just clarify that the programs that are using are for WM2003se..when i upgraded to wm6.5, it's still working fine..but when i downgraded back to wm2003se, some of them are not working anymore..
