What Is The Best And New Rom For Cingular 8125...and Best Wm6 For It
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295575
You first have to know whether you have a G3 or a G4 , you dont want to turn your 8125 into an expensive paper weight. Follow the threads in the wizard forums. Read read and read before you do anything.

Define "Best". Your definition is most likely going to be different than mine. So your needs and wants will not match mine... You need to just take the time to read and look at the options. If you want a ROM that gives you new features and pretty much works right out of the box then stay away from all of the WM6 ROMs for now and go grab Faria's AKU 3.3 (its a sticky at the top). It will setup your GPRS, MMS, and everythign and you'll pretty much be ready to rock and roll when you finish the install (beyond specific apps you use, but some of those (or similar) may already be there too). Its stable, quick and slick.
But if you want Bleeding edge, don't mind doing tweaks and dealing with odd issues, then look at the WM6 ROMs. Currently Most Beautiful Edition (MBE) is the one I run and am overall happy with it (its not perfect though and I find new odd things with it periodically). The Underground edition also seems good, and a new release is supposed to be coming. Also, the Hermes XDA Live ROM is supposed to be being ported and could show up at any time (and from what I've read, that is a really nice ROM on the Hermes, so hopefully will be as good for us on the Wizard).
And with all that said, don't for get the various Molski ROMs out there too. I haven't tried one yet, but everyone that uses them raves about them...

Spend some time reading and browsing the forums. The stickies at the top of this forum should be enough to answer your question.

lol sorry about that, i just switched to the htc wizzard, lol im not that of a noob!
Just wondering why you guys are not waiting until MS officially releases WM6 instead of installing this beta/pre-release? Wouldn't it be better (and cleaner) to let MS fix all the bugs and issues?
I don't know if that will happen, it depends on the carrier. They bake their own ROMs after MS does all the coding. The 8525 is out so it seems like that would get WM6 first.
I would like it to happen and look forward to it though.

I see. Just like back when WM5 came on the scene and some carriers didn't want to offer(or sell) its customers the upgrade for their WM2003 SE devices.
Okay, i have been reading through and through on xda, and i want to flash my tilt. This will be the first time. I want a fast ROM, and one that is not bare bones, but has some stuff. I have been looking at Sleuth v3.0. And actually, being a noob, I really don't know exactly what I want. I just want a fast ROM that i can add free GPS (like Google Earth), use email express, office, and have a User Interface similar to the iphone. bigger buttons, no bloatware. I have an Itouch, and have had it for quite sometime, but there is only so much you can do with it in terms of software.
I have looked, and maybe i passed over it, but instead of recommending Sleuth v3.0, is there some nice post I can go to that explains all the roms, or maybe even recommended roms to use, with screenshots and such.
thanks a bunch!
Check this out. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Cooked_ROMs
Most of these ROMS are built for speed, so there is not too much crap loaded in them. If you look at each individual ROM the chef has listed all of the included apps. If you want to add something just do it after the flash, you can still customize.
By the way, This link was in the Wiki, which I hope you read through before you flash your device.
Q-mobile 1.2
beware, once you try it, its really hard to stick with another rom!
Your search has ended!
You definitely have to try ROMeOS v4.1. I have tried almost every ROM released on this site for the past 6 months and I have to say this is by far the best. It will run everything, it is extremely stable, and comes pre-installed with the htcclassaction video drivers! It included the best file management/ftp/registry program available, and the best thing of them all its VERY fast!
the best advice is to try them all and pick which one you like the most. for me, I constantly roll back to Laurentius v9 and Hyperdragon III
Im am a noob at flashing as well and have been seriously considering Romeos.
Does it come with a radio?

Ok,
All my time with the Touch HD, I always used roms from Dutty, never tried from others. I like them cause there's few bugs on them, are always very stable and specially cause Dutty keeps and update almost every default in-built software that comes with the original roms.
But now, I'm a little disappointed with Dutty's roms, in particularity the roms with Leo interface, ie. manila 2.5, that are pledged with some bugs and in particularly don't even have Videocalls.
Can anyone give me an advise to an alternative to Dutty rom's ?
I would like to know what are the best roms with Leo interface and more importantly, that keep the default built-in programs (but always updated), for other words, are not stripped down (like the ones from Dutty)
Any hint would be great.
try miris ROM. one of them has manilla 2.6 running on windows mobile 6.1 and is supposed to be much faster.
think the thread is going to be closed as it is something personal
i can only say look at my signature what im using
I'm not asking anything personal, I'm asking a good rom with Leo interface and most important, to have all or most of the default in-build apps like the official roms.
Does Miri's rom have all or most of the default in-build apps (updated of course) like the official roms?
youre asking a good leobased rom that is for everyone different there for oure asking an opinion based question and yes miri has that
try to look at the first pages most of them have written down what they have in there rom
basically, there is no right answer, just what people like. this might aswell be a "whats your favourite ROM" thread which does little more than clutter the forum.
back to the topic though, i suggest you try them all (there are only 3 or so). could probably test them all in half an hour.
get miri 7.1
I've tested a couple of the latest Leo roms and the only thing you have to take into consideration is to REMEMBER that they are all in beta.
From my perspective they ALL run like crap for daily use. They are interesting to try out, but they are also more frustrating and slow to use and not worth the sleek new interfaces. Using any 6.1 rom is going to run much better
muhahahhahhahha...great thread here really awesome contribution and totally original question.
Hi onesolo, after been using almost all of Dutty's Rom's, when I moved to 6.5, the R2 was giving me some problems, and then decided to try PDAVIET. For now I'm pleased but still get the same problem as Dutty's with the SMS question, not sure if it's the same problem for everyone, but as you know here (PT) we can send an 160 caract. sms, and with this new 6.5 Rom I can't get out of the UNICODE and the lenght of the sms just passed to 70 caract.
But nevertheless I think it's stable and worth a big try.
Ok, ok, I can see another anoying thing, that is the memory use, if you have two or more programs open it may reach 70%.
With the good old Dutty's, would be hard to get there,
Ciao, até logo.
Jo
Plnety of roms out there with your requests. You just need to search. As stated above everyone has there own opinions on which roms best suit them as well as their own personal favourite chef, so would normally nominate them.
Best advice would be read title of each rom thread, research 1st post of each thread, see how others like this rom and then try it to make your own conclusion

I have and was using the Cappy until they Thunderbolt came out (which i am LOVING btw) and i had the current version of Serendipity on it at the time the TB came out. I am getting ready to sell it, i had Cognition on it before and i liked Serendipity more. Is Serendipity still one of the top ROMs? It looks like Mosaic has built up some steam also.

I'm distilling your question down to this. Simple answer: no one can tell you this but yourself. You're going to have to decide what works best for you, and if Serendipity is a top ROM in your opinion, then it's a top ROM.
Sorry for the relatively short post, but I thought I'd throw this out there before someone else reminds you that these posts come up often, and are usually closed down pretty quick.
i know it's opinion based, but if you mess with alot of them, the general consensus will see which ones seem to be the fastest and/or most stable after trying quite a few of them. Thats the info i was looking for. I guess the real question is what seems to be hot for the Cappy right now since i have been out of the loop for 3-4 months.
Is CM7 in Alpha still? or is it Final?

I'd say that whatever ROMs are at the top of the list in the development section are probably the ones getting the most attention and support. People tend to talk about ones that are being actively used, developed, and maintained.
Can't answer the question about CM7, though.

The only definitive thing I can say is that 2.2 ROMs are better than 2.3 ROMs in the sense that they're more stable and more complete, but that's it. The difference in 2.2 ROMs comes down to personal preference, as does the difference in 2.3 ROMs.
There's a reason these threads get closed almost immediately: THEY SUCK! No one can tell you what ROM is best for you.
Hi,
I want to freshen up my nokia 8 a bit and I'm thinking about flashing some custom rom. Do you have any recommendations which one i should pick?
I don't really need any special fireworks, just want to try out newer version of android BUT I do not want a ROM which will have a full page of "things that don't work" so looking for something fairly reliable (if such thing even exists lol).

From what I see here in this forum it seems that anyone is doing well. I personally have used the AncientOS 5.7 Society, 6.2 Society and now I use the Pixel Experience. There are some more that I have not tried but I can tell you that any of these 3 ROMs is perfectly suitable for daily use. Before deciding on one or the other, read the user comments carefully in the threads of each one to see the pros and cons and to know what to expect.
