No Sync after Rom - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hello All, I went to install button 1.05 it installed correctly and finished then went to reconnect and add the loki file but the computer is no longer finding it. says there is no driver. So I do it manually and it gives a error saying the inf file was made for a computer with windows 95 or above. Any ideas? Thanks

SPL 2.25

I got it working, For anyone that has this problem just install ActiveSync 4.2. Everything went smooth and now running TNT Pro V2. Thanks!

2.26 rom and nbf error

ok...i got the error from upgrading from 2.17 hacked rom to the 2.26 official rom. tried to read whatever i can but looks like solutions were given for cingular ipl etc...
can someone help me out? when i run the official rom, it updates to 1% and then i get the nbf error. i tried to run loki but mda not recognized by my usb connection.
stuck now...please help!!!
actually, tried to run machinagod's RAPI unlocker..but MDA not recognized as connected...this was part of xelencin's 2.24 rom updater.
please help!!!
Hi,
you must provide more information if you want someone to help you.
First and most important: what does it mean your phone is stuck? Stuck where? Does the screen come on? Can you get the bootloader screen? (for the bootloader screen: hold the two keys on the right side of the device and press shortly the reset hole; if you see the three colors screen then you have the bootloader!)
bye
i get the screen with the 3 colors, and usb at bottom left. when i run the official t-mobile 2.26 update, the screen goes gray and there is a bar with % done. when that kicks in, i get 1% done then it stops. on my computer screen, i get the nbk error, saying the nbk file that i have is not for my phone.
i looked for fixes but all the fixes require activesync connections which i am unable to connect with. just fyi, when i plug in the usb cable to my laptop, i hear the *ding* for usb noting it is connected but the activesync connection is not available.
thanks in advance for your help.

Before your battery goes flat i suggest you to re-install your old rom. Don't know why 2.26 is not working, maybe you downloaded a corrupted archive. To install your old rom it is not required that activesync sees your phone. Go in bootloader mode and flash your old rom back.
i dont think i downloaded a corrupted rom file because i downloaded it from 2 different places, one from Tmobile site directly from my tmobile account.
what bootloader program should i use? please advise and location to download...
thanks,
mike

bootloader program??? There's no bootloader program!
What i'm trying to tell you is:
- Your phone is stuck for unknown reasons. In this state you cannot recharge your battery!
- Before the remaining battery charge becomes too few, reinstall your old rom (the one you had before trying 2.26)
- When your phone -with the old rom- will be working again, then you'll have all the time to investigate on the causes of this failure.
- Now hurry up and install the old rom before it's too late (unless you have a second wizard that you can use to recharge the batteries)
To install the old rom you must go to the three-colors screen (the bootloader), connect to USB (but activesync won't start!) and start the rom installer.

risi,
sorry...how do i get to bootloader screen? is it the tricolor screen? has anyone had the same problem that i'm having, going from 2.17 hack to 2.26 official?
what program can i use to load my original rom with?

to go to the bootloader screen you must keep pressed the two keys on the right side of the device and, while keeping them pressed, shortly press the reset button. the bootloader screen IS the three colors screen. when you get the bootloader screen, reinstall your previous rom (2.17).
i plugged the phone in the wall charger and the battery charged up all last night so i am not worried about the battery...
i just cannot figure out how to load the old rom i had.
i didnt bring the phone with me to work...i will try to reflash with old rom...for now...i am using my old hp 6315 (yikes! - remember the probs with this phone?? lol

to load the old rom you must:
- get to the bootloader screen (the three colors one)
- download the 2.17 rom's ,exe archive (download it from the same place you took it last time)
- connect the phone to USB (don't worry if activesync doesn't see it)
- start the rom .exe file
thanks risi...
hope i can get it back man...

I hope so! About the problem you had with 2.26, i don't know why it happened. Is your phone a T-mob USA MDA? If it is not then you must CID unlock it before flashing a different operator's rom.
Bye
yes, it is a tmo usa mda...or i would think so since i bought it from a factory store (not an authorized dealer). anyway man...i will keep you posted...for now, using my trusty hp 6315. lol
Hello,
I have a similar problem. I updated my QTEK 9100
with a T- Mobile 2.24 ROM. Now I need to go back to the original QTEK Rom, namely RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe, but after starting the upgrade process the program refuses to downgrade the device and says get a newer nbf file.
Is there a way to force a downgrade?
Many thanks in advance

Is your phone CID unlocked? If so, then you must download the wizard_upgrade_noid tool from the ftp server and use it to install the 'down'grade.
In details:
- be sure your phone has been CID unlocked (and is not a G4)
- download the wizard_upgrade_noid (i don't remember the name exactly) tool
- use winrar to extract the original qtek rom .exe archive
- copy the noid tool to the folder where you extracted the qtek rom
- run it
bye
Hello Risidoro,
At first thanks for your fast answer. Since I have a QTEK I don't beleve it's CID locked. How can I verify if the phone is CID locked? Is there a tool to check this?
I proceeded exactly as you advised. I used Winrar to extract the files and used the Wizard_RomUpgradeUtility_noid I downloaded from the ftp site.
Then I copied the nk.nbf file to the respective folder but the utility after having completed the initial 2 screens says:
ERROR [238] : FILE READ
The update utility cannot open the requested file. Please check your update utility.....
any ideas
Greetings
Hello,
Just some small updates: My phone has currently the Mr Clean 2.3 firmware loaded : IPL 2.24 SPL 2.24 GSM 02.25.11 and OS 2.24.10.1.
Previously I was using RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe and had no problems. After upgrading to xelencin t-mobile based US rom I had trouble when making data transfers over GPRS. Then I decided to test Mr clean. Altough I data transmission has improved a bit it's still not so good as with my original RUU 2.17 release.
Unfortunately I am unable to revert to this version. Also having tried to downgrade using Faria's Custom downngrade file only the IPL was downgraded to 1.05 and the SPL file stayed to 2.24.
I tried then to reapply RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe but I recieved the error message UPGRADE only.
Since apparently this is unstable I decided to reapply Mr Clean and now I have again IPL 2.24 SPL 2.24 GSM 02.25.11 and OS 2.24.10.1.
I suspect that the data problems are due to the fact that these new radio versions are not compatible with our provider. I live in Luxembourg so we use LUXGSM.
Is there a way how I can revert to my old 2.17 software.
Any coments are highly appreciated.
Greetings

Hi Anais,
try flashing with the RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) tools that you find in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=56088
Download the archive RUU.rar and extract its content somewhere in your PC. Copy in the same location the nk.nbf from the rom and run the .exe.

No Activesync After Button 1.05 Romload

I cannot get activesync4.5 to link up to wizard after loading button rom. IPL is 1xx and spl is 2xx. I am not sure what to do next with this since I cannot cid unlock without getting a connection with as. I have not found any definitive answers anywhere, and I have been reading alot, and then I read alot more. I have cleared the temp folders I have ran chkdsk I have manually started as on ppc. I really could use some help on what my next steps should be to get a link up from the ppc to the pc.
you're phone didn't flash correctly. put the phone in bootloader mode (hold the comm manager, the voice dial button, and hit the small hole on the side at the same time...should bring you to the tri-color bootloader mode) and reflash butons 1.05. you need to keep reflashing until BOTH your IPL and SPL are 1.05. having different numbers is not a good thing.

This is an 8125 and I have been able to get to the bootloader screen by pressing the camera button and power together. I have an IPL of 1.01 and an SPL of 2.25. I have flashed the phone 3 times now and there has been no changes as to the SPL as of yet. I will go for another round on it. Has anyone else encountered this problem with G3 8125 Wizard??? I have seen similar problems while reading through the forums, although no solutions.
When you press the comm manager voice dial button and press the small hole on the side that is for a hard reset right? Anyways I have reloaded the button 1.05 rom and it still has 2.25 SPL any ideas????

how can it be cid unlocked if I have not succesfully gotten the phone to connect with activesync4.5 to be able to load the enablerapi file and run the lokiwiz.02b bat file??? This lack of connection to the AS is where I am stuck. From the read first sticky I should be loading the enablerapi file on and running the lokiwiz.bat file. I am not making a connection between the phone and the computer to be able to do that, at this time. I have now loaded the button rom on the phone 5 times and still no change in the SPL. What am I missing here????
One other thing that I noticed is that when I plug the USB into the Wizard it immediately trys and succesfully sets up a local area connection. It is currently set up as local area connection 5. This connection says that it is a windows mobile based device connection. What do you all make of this one??
currently these are my boot readings
IPL 1.01
SPL 2.25
GSM 01.12.10
OS 1.5.4.2
Cingular/ATT Customer
8125 HTC Wizard
MODEL 100
UPDATE!!!!! So the answer to my own thread for anyone that will run into this problem, for myself, was to load the button rom then remove activesync program from xp, then without reboot redownload activesync with the phone connected to usb, if it still does not come up reinstall button rom without reboot. Also disable ALL firewall and antivirus programs. This should get the activesync to see your device, and then it will try to connect. Just cancel the attempted sync connection and you will be on active sync as a guest. I hope this will help out some newbies.
I am experiencing the exact same issue. Any ideas??
Uninstall ActiveSync 4.5 and install an older version.
AS4.5 seems to have problems with some WM5 devices.

I tried 4.5, 4.2, and 3.8 all without luck. Any other ideas?
Tried on another XP machine and it worked using ActiveSync 4.2.Now if I can get activesync to connect to WM6 ...
Finally someone mentions the OS on the PC. That will help alot you know. well hope all is sorted out! Good luck
Well i've tried several different versions of activesync (3.8, 4.2, and 4.5 which is needed for WM6) uninstalling rebooting, connecting the device several times, rebooting both the laptop and the phone, and nothing seems to work on my newer Core 2 Duo laptop. It simply will not connect to the phone. It worked perfect _before_ the downgrade to the Button ROM though using activesync 4.2 and 4.5 to the Cingular ROM.
All works perfect on my older P4 laptop though, both run Windows XP SP2 btw. Button ROM connected first try. I'm thinking something may be wrong with the OS on my new laptop, so I may have to blow it out and start all over since it's the one I need to sync with...
At least I got the XDA WM6 r2a Rom, IPL/SPL 3.08, and Faria 2.69.11 installed and working without a hitch on the 8125 so its fully usable now. Now to keep plugging away till I can sync it on my main laptop.
Frustrating!
where can I find active sync 4.2? I'm stuck just like he is.
I got IPL 1.01 and SPL 3.08
i'm in bootscreen right now trying to reflash it, but nogo.. I can't get a connection with activesync, so the romloader program is not getting a good connection

HardSPL issue with 8125 G4 and 2.21.olip

I've been trying to find a thread that addresses my issue but have'nt been able to find anything addressing my issue.
I wanted to upgrade my 8125 G4 (IPL/SPL 2.25.0001) to WM6 so I tried the guide for "newbies".
I have windows XP and Activesync 4.45. I was able to establish a connection with my 8125. I ran the HardSPL and it confirmed my device is G4 and it went to the utility.
I followed the utility and was able to reconnect and reestablish connection with activesync. after rebooting my phone the IPL is 2.21.0001 but the SPL is still 2.25.0001. Can you tell me why it did'nt change to
2.21.olip?
I then tried rerunning HardSPL but when the utility asked me to reconnect and establish connection with activesync activesync does not discover the phone. Otherwise am able to use my phone just fine and can even activesync with my laptop.
I did not continue to other steps for fear of bricking my phone since the guide says not to continue if SPL isn't 2.21.olip.
Can anyone please help me get back on my way to WM6?
Thanks
my phone is:
Rom 2.25.11.1 wwE
radio 02.25.11
Protocol 4.1.13.12
ExtRom 2.25.11.102

Did the HardSPL completed successfully ? did the screen go white for awhile. If it didn't,then rerun the HardSPL again, but disable or shut down any Antivirus or firewall and any other heavy application or program running in the background while applying HardSPL sometimes create problems also.Reset the phone, reset the pc and close all programs/applications from the desktop through 'Task Manager' and don't surf the net or do any other operation during HardSPL,let it complete the whole process,if the screen goes white, don't panic its the essential part.
HardSPL did complete successfully.
The screen on the phone did change to white.
I had the windows firewall off and antivirus disabled also. i think i did have internet explorer open at the time however.
I will try again running it with no background programs running and see what happens.
Are there any known services or background applications that prevent a successfull HardSPL installation?

plz help, tryin to use button rom-> error 260

i did the thing with active sync to make sure im a guest, and when i start the RUU button thing it starts then stops saying error 260
is there anything i can do to not get this message, i want to upgrade my 8125 to WM6
Error 260 is an open port error, its usually resolved by resetting the device and the pc. Try again after resetting 'SoftReset' the phone and 'Restart' your comp.
Secondly, which is your device,is it G3 or G4 and on which windows pc are you trying to flash winXP or winVista ?
i've restarted and reset the device, i have a G3 and my windows ps is running winXP
still no luck, when i run the rom downgrade program it crashes active sync and then gives me the error message
Then you should first disable USB connection of your ActiveSync (or kill wcescomm.exe in Task Manager yourself) before running RUU.

Can't connect to active sync

I just downgraded to buttons rom so that I could unlock my phone I just got. It is a cingular phone but I use tmobile. The problem is that after it was finished and the phone restarted it couldn't connect to active sync. Now I can't use the lokiwiz because I can upload the file to my phone through active sync. what do I do now???
ok, i got the original cingular 2.25 rom and updated my 8125 back to its original state. when I do this the phone will connect with active sync. so i decided to downgrade using the button rom again and try to unlock my phone all over again. I can get through the button rom downgrade but when my phone restarts and goes through all the setup configuration, activesync will tell me it can not connect to my device. so now I am stuck at the same place i was again. I can't start lokiwiz because activesync will say that there is no device. what am i doing wrong? also when i downgraded the ipl sais 1.01 but the spl was still 2.25. is there a different rom i can use?
