[Solution] Activesync Internet Connection Problems?

Just wanted to spread it out just in case you guys didn't know, or are having problems with it.
So basically, here's the problem you may be encountering:
Before, when you connected to Activesync, you shared your internet connection with your PDA enabling you to surf the net on your mobile phone without actually having to turn on wi-fi through comm manager.
Now you have a problem, it doesn't work any more and all you get is an error saying something like "Uknown error 0x80072f78", right? Well, if that's the case, I have the perfect solution (I did not create the solution, but easily researched it online).
Here's the FIX
-Right click the above link, save as...,(it would be easier if you just save it to your desktop), then right click the .reg file, and click "yes".
Success! Hope all goes well!

How to turn off all data?

Hey guys, I do not have a data plan at all and am with Tmobile. I have tried the NoData program but for some reason it will not install onto the phone. I don't need any data connection of any sort whatsoever.

why dont you just install a comm manager that has the ability to shut off data such as 3g or data completely. they a lot of different ones all over the forums.

Install this Cab, run the program and select which connection you'd like to enable or disable...... it's REAL easy
or you can enable/diable data using advanced config...
OR, this is what I did, called your service provider and ask them to put a block on the data connection so you never have to worry about it again when switching ROMs or whatever!!

Yeah I tried the NoData program and it doesn't work on my phone. It shows an error when trying to excute the program. It installs fine but just won't run. I tried the one you posted as well and they both don't work.

Then something is wrong with your phone.
NoData works perfectly on the tytn2 and the touch cruise
What error do you get ?

With AT&T you can just call them and request to suspend all data traffic on a specific phone line. I had to do that for my parents' phones because they kept pressing the wrong buttons and getting on the internet....

Maybe go in and setup the data connection wrong.

like....... what ROM are you using? what error do you get?
Also, have you tried disabling it using advanced config?

give the old model phone to ur parents,such as the one without GPRS function,lol,then they wont get on the internet

Here, I am going to type out the whole error message that I get when I click the details of the error message.

That is the message I get. the [] are boxes and I don't know how to type that. Any help? It didn't work on my TyTn that I had before either. And I tried downloading it several times and different ones.
Oh and I forgot to add that the Rom I am using is the one on the WIKI page about the HTC Windows Mobile 6.1 rom. I think it is the original. CE OS 5.2.19188 (Build 19188.1.0.0) is what I see in the Version of my phone.

use schap's advanced config to disable data connections. OR just call your service provider and have them block it from their end. thats what I did. Don't have install any programs or configs anymore!

[HELP] Internet Connection Error : Internet Explorer & QuickGPS

Internet Explorer not connecting. It says "The address is not valid. Check the address and try again". Funny but the Opera works perfectly
QuickGPS also not downloading anymore. It says "Connection failed. Please try again later" I uses Quick Position and it download just fine.
Windows Live Messenger also cannot sign-in. It says Connectivity problem.
I already tried connecting via "Wifi", USB and GPRS.. all giving same issue..
Basically I have no problem on my internet but above few applications just not working
Need help on this please.. thanks in advance..

Try going into settings and re do the network setup. I had this problem the other day where the phone would not establish a data connection via the phone network. After re doing the initial network setup again it worked fine. Hope this helps

If you have Advanced Config installed, see under Internet Explorer settings.
The last one is for "Proxy Auto Detection". Try enabling/toggling it. Do a soft reset.
Does this work?

tried enable / disabled.. doesn't work.. when disabled.. no error pop-up but doesn't return the page.. when enable back.. the error msg came back..
sigh!!

Weather problem back to normal.. the rest of the internet problem still persist...

funny situation happens..
Messenger back to normal.. only problem now is with my IE and QuickGPS
Funny with QuickGPS is when I connected via Active sync.. it will auto download fine.. but if I were to click on the download button, it will return error.. weird..
IE still gives me same problem on the error address..
rest of the internet application works fine..

Getting the GPS to work out of the box

I searched typing in a few word combination for some time, but could not find what I am looking for. So, I am sorry if I did not follow the rules to post.
I just bought AT&T Tilt running WM6.1 stock ROM. I have run the Quick GPS utility already. I installed google maps mobile. When I start the software, and click "use GPS", it just does not work. Says "data connection is needed..blah blah". Through "menu", I see a GPS setting (automatic and manual (com4 and speed)). I selected COM4 and tried at different speeds but no luck.
Am I missing something? Even a link to where this procedure is given stepwise would be greatly appreciated.

Well, since google maps gets its map data Via an internet connection to buffer the images....... you may be connected through gps and all that is working there, however without an internet ( Data ) Connection it WILL NOT be able to get a map.

I now understand what it meant by "data connection.." message. So are you saying that once it manages to download map(s), that's all I need the internet/data connection for? Or it will always need the internet/data connection on the go?

google maps allways uses a data connection to show your position not only once. if you want to use local maps you have to buy navigation software like tomtom, igo, navigon etc

HELP! needed with modem link program

For personnal convenience i want to to install modem link on my kaiser due to work network-restriction at work without not sucess....
i've found & installed "CDMA" version w/o no sucess with these issues
error: can't connect to COM8
kaiser is not recognized by desktop as usb-modem
my network signal is killed by program
i've foud & installed "WM6" version w/o sucess with these issues
(wmodem.link-wmodem.exe.0409.mui-wmodem.exe)
kaiser is recognized as usb-modem
my network signal is not killed by the program
but when i try to conect it comes out this error: "End data call first"
if anyone could help me with these. i will appreciate so much...
Is there a need to do a register tweak or something else???
note: i know here is internet sharing program include on all wm6.x roms's but in my country still using 2g networks and there is a big difference in performance between IS & wodem link programs.

I'm pretty sure that not even 2 weeks ago this was discussed and someone put forth a good bit of effor to document their struggles. You may want to search back a bit.

but no solutions with my problem even i've searching over a year...
i've searched & found a wmodem link program & i've searched i've installed but still got error message "end data call first"
even when i've read over 500's post on subject .... don't have i the right for asking a solution?????
i think is more reduntant of reduntant just keep saying "SEARCH" for a solution without given a positive solutions... i think is better just to don't reply at all........
