Hi everyone, I searched the forums but couldn't find an answer to this...
I'm using the HTC Home plugin which is great but I was wondering which internet connection the Weather tab is using to get updates on the weather...It refreshes the weather information when my wireless is turned off...is it going through gprs, tzones? I cant find any information on how to control how frequently it updates the weather information...is there a way to only limit it to wifi...i dont want to rack up a huge data bill....any help would be much appreciated!!!

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post. So please be advised.
I am unable to find any information on how to configure the automatic sound in the 6th tab of the HTC home plugin. I have 1.5 build 620722 of the plugin and customized using the HTC Home Customizer. I used the customizer to insert the 6th tab and the functionality of the profiles seem to be working. My only problem is when I select "Auto" it sets itself to vibrate. I read somewhere that it may be because of a meeting, that it will set to vibrate during those times, however I do not have any meetings set. Also I set a meeting to force it to switch out after the meeting was over and it did not. Does anyone have any idea how to configure this to work properly? Thanks in advance.
Is no one responding because this is a settled issue and I just haven't seen it? If there is an answer, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hi, I just got myself a Tilt/Kaiser and have been plowing through all that it can do for the past 2 says.
I have found these forums to be a wealth of information, hence I just wanted to introduce myself and say THANKS to all of you who contribute so much to it.
Moving on, I do have two quick questions...
I downloaded and installed the HTC-Home plugin which allows me to have the large digital clock and all the other cool looking buttons. However, I am unable to find a place to download the Wireless today plugin which would allow me to have an entry for my Wifi network under the today window. I have done several searches on these forums but the most I have found are either A) Mentions of the plugin or B) Other wifi plugins. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places? Can anyone just give me a link where I can download it?
Secondly, is there any way for me to remove tabs from the HT-Home-Today screen? Out of the 5 tabs there (Home, Fav people, Weather, Shortcuts, Music) I want to remove the Weather one.

Try KaiserTweak, there is an option in there to enable Wireless Today.
The wireless plugin is built in to the OS anyway. If you dont want to use kaisertweak or advanced config tools to enable it, you need to find the reg tweak that enables it. I am sure it in the Hermes Wiki.
And htchome tabs are set in start, settings, personal tab, Today, HTCHOME tab.

Hi everybody, right now I try to set up the HTC Diamond for my father, so far so easy .
I just have one major (and one minor) problem:
Is there a way to forbit the Diamond to go online at all? Right now, when you by chance hit the weather button, he just starts to establish a data connection. The Diamond is not supposed to go online at all over the normal cell phone network (probably over WLAN, but that is not important). Is there a way to disable that, or at least ask if you want to go online?
And the minor problem/question, is there a way to configure which buttons are on the bottom? E.g. he doesn't need to have E-Mail there.

Try remove the grps settings in settings \ connections \ connections \ manage connections. It should't connect if it does't have a connections to use

I removed mail, internet and contacts myself.
or try 'NO DATA' its a cab file in artemis section, you can select and deselect real easy
Thanx a lot for the quick help. TF3D and deleting the connection did the job . I will use NoData.cab for my self, as soon as the HTC Touch pro is out and in my hands.

It's much more easyer to disable autoupdate in weather panel- options . You can disable mail panel using tf3d config.Disable 3g and that's it. You can go online every time you want.
My father has the incredible talent by having no idea what he does, he finally makes the think he isn't supposed . I actually already disablked the weather feature, but he worked his magic.
Good thread! I was wondering this too. But my phone connects with 3G if i am in oprah and my WLAN connection died for a second. I will try nodata though!
Is that possible to set the weather auto update when connect to the pc with hoysync? (like the quick gps auto download) But not auto update through the gprs or hsdpa, any ideas?

when you sync with your pc you have to choose the internet scroll option in the sync program.

Thanks kreptor! Yes I did, but once if you disconnect with your pc, it will auto download the weather information through your gprs/ 3G, and this will charge you $. So that's why I'm looking for a way to auto update with hotsync only like the "quick gps" in Diamond. Anyway thanks for your help!

do any of the chef know what package are required to make the My Location Weather Clock to work?
It's actually more simple than that. Download this radio:
4.49.25.17 - Rapidshare Mirror - HTC
This allows you to use 3G to get the "My Location." Previous radios only allowed for "Edge" updates to your location.
Actually, turn off 3G so that only Edge is working and try to update your location (with your current radio).
But after this you can't update through Edge anymore only 3G...

If you mean seeing weather info and animation in the home screen instead of My location , easily click on the watch and it will direct you to world clock Then choose your state instead of my location.But be sure that you have already added your city from the weather screen.Then go back and back then hope it works
It seems that this feature is confusing people rather than being usefull, a solution was proposed here but for some reason did not work on my set.
The bad news is that GSMarena.com are saying that the location is locked from the first startup and can't be changed (details), if so, there should be a registry key to fix the issue, right?

Are you still running the Clean Stock ATT ROM? If so, how did you get the weather to show on the home page? I too have been trying to figure this out. Thank you in advance.
