I've been using WM 6.1 with Dutty's dual touch rom for over a month now, turned my phone off about 30 min ago, and when i turned it back on, it shows SPL screen (red, green, blue, white), and white bar says "Serial"
top right says
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
Also when i soft reset, for a split second i get white screen that says "warning no image file!", right before it goes back to spl screen
Has anyone encountered this before? I tried soft reset, but it doesnt do anything, it just goes back to this screen. I havent installed anything besides that HTC rom
(i'm using ATT Tilt, and i did install the correct radio as well)
disable usb connections in activesync, use mtty to connect to usb and then type command "info 8" without the "" and paste the output here, and wait for gsleon3 to get to you

Try to do a boot command (type "boot" without quotes) from mtty and I think it'll boot. Everytime you power off it though, you would go back to the bootloader screen I had the same problem but was solved when I flashed another ROM.
Can i somehow just wipe out everything and reinstall a fresh ROM?
which ROM did u use ?

Don't worry about that, I believe you have a SD card. Its not finding a Image File on the SD card. Thats how you flash via an SD card.
The reason it goes to SPL i think there is a Flash Flag that didn't get clear or something. I'm not that smart about this. Thought I am trying to learn mtty.
I accidently ran the rom before the hard spl, Doh!
Alright everyone im sorry in advance for this, but dont worry, I have my fire extinguisher out and any help will be worth any and all flaming. I was changing my rom on my tilt from the original 6.0 to the Apr 29 dutty rom. I got side tracked in the middle of it and accidently ran the rom instead of the hard spl. As soon as i hit next I realized it. I know I feel like and idiot. Well the screen started to load and is now holding firm at the 17% download mark and isnt moving anywhere. My plea for help is to ask if there is any steps I can take to recover the phone at this stage or am i pretty much screwed. I have been searching the forums on any steps to go through but since my phone is still in load mode I thought my situation may be original enough to post. As of now at 12:34am on Sep 1st my phone is still connected to the computer and showing the white loading screen. I will plan to leave this going until it shows me an error or I see the expected reply that im doomed. If you guys can pull me out of this one I promise that paypal will be your pal. Thanks to all that reply.

Sorry guys, i'm really new at this. Please be gentle
Ok... here's my problem...
I've tried to install Hard-SPL on my tilt but all i got is the phone resets itself. Everytime i've tried to do it, it does the same thing so I quit. Earlier this week, when I took out my SD card the phone crashed into the Tri-color screen and would not come out of it. I've tried resetting it a lot of times, still fail and no luck. I couldn't get it to hard reset. Don't know why. As far as I know all the rom and radio are AT&T's. Is there a way for me to get it out of this screen? can i still flash it with a different rom, or am i just S.O.L? I've tried the MTTY but I don't think i know what i'm doing. Please help. thank you.
did you try taking out the battery for 3 seconds?
Yes, I left the battery out for about an hour b/c i got so fed up with the screen. Still the same result. I've also tried taking out the SIM and pwr up with out it. Same result. that damn screen is horrible. coulnt' get rid of it.

What is wrote in the tricolor screen bottom? USB or Serial?
And do not ever try to mess up with MTTY if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing!
It says Serial when it's not plugged in. USB when it's plugged into the computer. I have windows vista, so i did that whole picture tutorial on how to get the activsync/wmdc driver thing installed. dunno if that will get anywhere. Didn't get far with MTTY anyways, all i get is a cmd error. that was a good point to stop.
I would download a compatible ROM and KaiserUnlocker which can be found here....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583
With your phone in the tri-color screen and connected to the computer run KaiserUnlocker and click on Flash Hard-SPL when it is done exit the application and install the new ROM that you have downloaded. Phone should work after that.
Please, if you're stuck in tri-color, don't flash anything. Don't listem to anyone with 30 posts, etc.
What you want to do is find the reason it's happening, so you don't do something that will make the situation permanent. Search the forums, or look at my posts by clicking on my name & you will see that I know what I speak of.
Find me on MSN/Live Messenger tomorrow & I'll help you diagnose & fix the issue.
It's never wise to cross your fingers & start flashing things, especially unlockers which require radio flashes.
First i like to say thanks to those who replied... a lil quick update...
After i let the phone sit without power for a couple of days, i tried to turn it on this morning without the sim card, it turned on, booted up and everything then after a few minutes i press the power button to take it out of sleep mode, the phone restarted it self and boot like normal again. After like 15 minutes, the phone then went back into bootloader tri/quad color screen again. I took the battery and left out for a few minutes, put it back in turn it on, it goes right into bootloader tri/quad color screen again. Something new, there's also a quick flash of a "loading" white screen then back into the color screen. All done without sim card. I think my phone is a lil bit haunted. what do you guys say?
the phone now goes back between tri color screen and booting up all the way.

I say you stop where you're at and do what GSLEON tells you.
Form the sounds of it, I'd imagine it shows RUUNBH on the screen, correct?

I've tried to installed HARDSPL on it but it was not successful. All i got when i tried to get installed is the phone resets itself. Have not tried JUMPSPL or anything like that. MTTY got cmd error which is a good thing. I stop at that. thanks.
You have spl 1.93. That is a troublsome SPL indeed. Using MTTY try issuing the following commands. (BTW, the boot command is invalid with 1.93 SPL as are several others)
Set flow control to RTS/CTS & connect to device via usb port using MTTY.
Hit enter until the "cmd>" prompt appears.
Enter command as follows: cmd>info 8
Post the results.
Everybody starts out sometime, my post count really shouldn't matter, but it does obviously. What I wrote was a SUGGESTION. The reason I suggested it was because obviously he was running Hard-SPL for a reason you don't just run it and do nothing else. I never suggested flashing the Radio as you would have to flash back a new one. Yes there is an option to flash the radio but you do NOT have to flash the radio as I simply suggested using it for the Hard-SPL. Hard-SPL never finished correctly probably because he is running Vista operating system, I too am running Vista, the suggestion I gave IS worth a shot because it works on Vista without changing the drivers to XP. If he wants his phone back the way it was out of the box I would suggest going here.............http://www.htc.com/us/faq_product.aspx........Select your phone model, go to software downloads, scroll to the bottom of the page and download the latest rom.
Hey sorry to butt in here, but i have been having the same issue, here are my info 8 results... any info greatly appreciated..

Well, I have another problem. I got the message saying USB port can't be opened or something like that through MTTY. and windows saying my USB DEVICE "TILT" isn't recognizable. I think i'm in deep SH!T.
The phone itself will boot all the way everynow and then, like letting it sit for a few hours, but even when it's fully booted, the same thing happen with the USB port thing. This sucks... Thanks for helping. What should I do next?
**UPDATE** Luckily the phone started up, i did a CLEAR STORAGE, went back to the tri-color screen, switch USB cable, ran MTTY with cmd/info 8 this is the result.

What worked for you might not work for him. You had only one bad black while he has 4. Please don't encourage mtty commands unless you know what you are doing. His SPL 1.93 might not be compatible as well. It's best to just wait for GSLEON3 to inform him/her on the next step.
Text at the bootloader screen:
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
Serial
-------------------
When this first happened I was able to use mtty to boot to the OS. Now when I plug it up to my PC it changes from "Serial" to "USB" however I get the warning that Windows does not recognize the USB device.
Occasionally the device will boot to the OS but when I attempt to insert my SIM card (I've removed it so I can continue to use my service) the device reboots and goes straight to the bootloader screen. When it boots to the OS and I don't insert my SIM card ActiveSync doesn't recognize it.
I had been using Dutty's Duttys_Diamond_Rom_Ruu_Signed_5.2.1588_1.65.16.25_V1 ROM at this point. I then tried to flash the Official AT&T ROM found in this thread. Didn't help. I've tried flashing HardSPL 3.56. Didn't help.
Can I still save this thing? What else can I do? Am I missing something obvious here?
My phone ran into the same issue in the last 24hrs. Leaving the battery out for an hour "fixed" it, only to have it reoccur overnight.
Bump. I could really use some help on this issue.
Have you tried reflashing the rom using a microsd card? What spl version are you running?

Multiple times. I've tried reflashing the Duttys ROM I was using (see original post) and the official AT&T ROM, which is what is now installed on the device. I am/was running HardSPL 1.0 and I tried flashing HardSPL 3.56 from my micro SD card but the text at the bootloader screen is still:
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
Which leads me to believe that I am still running HardSPL 1.0
Just now the device attempted to boot to the OS but froze at the green WM6.1 screen. I then tried a soft reset and it went back to the bootloader screen. It seems that leaving the battery out for some time will allow the device to boot to the OS. Next time I attempt to boot it up I'll insert my SIM card and see if I get anywhere with that.
Here's a thought. When I bought my Tilt AT&T sent me a new SIM card but I never bothered to have my old SIM card transferred to the new one. I've been using my old Cingular SIM card. Could this an issue? I had read that some older versions of HardSPL may have trouble with older SIM cards...
So I took out the battery and let it sit for a while, put my SIM card and the battery back in and it booted to the OS. Sweet. However, the screen is unresponsive to touch and does not shift from portrait to landscape when I slide the screen. Also, Activesync did not recognize the device.
I removed my SIM card and it booted to the bootloader but Windows did not give me the error that it didn't recognize the USB device so I opened MTTY and was able to connect.

I'm going to toss in my unregistered SIM and force boot to the OS... at least I can charge the damn battery now.
EDIT: I inserted my unregistered SIM and tried to force boot to the OS using MTTY but the screen went black and I've got a red light. Removed the battery and rebooted to the bootloader. Now Windows no longer recognizes the device. But I'm confident I'll be able to boot to the OS later. But I've gotta get ready for work now. Frustration!

tri-color phone screen
hey, i had the same problem and i fixed it. i took the battery out and saw the 4 golden tabs behind the battery. there was two tabs that u could pull out. i lightly pulled them out a little bit. the problem was that the tabs wouldnt hit the battery to charge it. thats why it put the tri colored screen on the front. also my charger fit into the charging hole in the phone, but it had to be moved around to much that it did not fit exactly. I have been rough with the charger so it moved the inside of my phone around. i put the charger in the phone and moved it around gently around untill the light lit up on the front at the top by the word at&t. after it was completly charged, i turned it on and it worked perfectly. i hope this helps in whoever may have this problem because i know it sucks!
Thanks
One of my superiors wanted me to dispose of his old v1615/Kaiser, saying "...this isn't working. Dispose of it properly." Ever the fiddler, I wanted to know if it could be used again, and in so doing I found xda-dev!
I've been searching around, and reading up - Wikis and forum posts - but I've yet to find a solution to my problem: the Kaiser hangs at the Vodafone logo. I found the MTTY instructions threads etc., so to clarify the situation here is a MTTY dump (first two carriage returns and commands included...):
Cmd>
Cmd>set 16 0
Cmd>boot
InitDisplay: Display_Chip=1
Fill RSVD information for block 288 to 309
Storage start sector=0x9040, total sector=0x12280
Storage start block=598, total block=1162
Total Bad Block in CE: 0
Erase physical block from 886 to 2032
formatstorage Bad block found: 1201
formatstorage Bad block found: 1795
si backup: Erase physical block from 2032 to 2048
No card inserted
OSSIPreLoad ++
At this point it hangs, and drops the USB connection - presumably while the device is reseting the device tree - rendering MTTY useless.
Has anyone come across this issue?
I've not experienced that but I do recall reading similar posts. What happens when you attempt to hard reset using the soft keys and stylus method (as described in the users manual and wiki)? You need to walk before running and this should be the first step before going anywhere near the device with mtty or similar tools. Make sure it's been charging for a few hours so the battery is full or nearly so and ensure you know which buttons to press and are careful just to press the soft keys only. This operation can be fiddly and a few times my attempts at a soft key induced hard reset have failed because my big fat fingers have also ended up pressing other buttons at the same time.
Before finding xda-developers.com I tried a soft reset, which didn't have any effect whatsoever. I've tried soft resetting four times - probably out of frustration.
After those failed, I did a hard reset, which also had no effect. In fact, the MTTY dump on the original post is what happened directly after the first hard reset.
The device is still functional, but it seems unusable for now.
could be a corrupt rom, try flashing another rom
just remembered it isn't hardspl'

Precisely what does that mean - what happened? If absolutely nothing happened and it didn't start the hard reset procedure (with a little progress bar displayed on the screen), then try hard resetting again (making sure you're only pressing the correct buttons at the same time as when you poke the stylus in) because it may have been finger trouble (it's easy to get this wrong).
Hy,
I have a Kaiser that when I power it on it does the following:
1 - black screen with "Smart Mobility" in the middle
2 - some red numbers shown on the bottom right corner
3 - Windows Mobile 6.1 green logo
4 - Windows Mobile 6.1 green logo and "cleaning device memory, please wait" message
It stays this way for about 5 minutes and next it turns itself off.
Can anyone help?
BR
Did u try a hard reset.
If not do it and check it again.
Pls try to take the backup.
Yes I already tried Hard-Reset but it does the same thing.
As for backup... it doesn't matter anymore, I just want to get the phone working!
And I got the phone in Bootmode tried to flash it, the flash bar shows up, but it always stays at 0% and gives "comunication error".

Have you try to flash another rom or reflash your stock...I noticed hardreset is not working..
I Cook roms so I flash about 15 or 20 times a day. I have a problem suddenly where my TP wont flash.
I get into bootloader and GET USB at the bottom
SPL-0.85.Olinex on the top which mean all should be ok but when i flash it gets stuck on 0 persent
I tried a stock rom, I tried Task 29 flash ...all does the same.
I tried flashing via sd card but it gets stuck on Loading
I tried mtty and did task 28/9 set etc etc and that still works but nothing else
Any ideas?
Its a GSM Rhodium 100 By the way

I was doing this while working on my version of the new AT&T ROM and started seeing WIERD issues like it would flash then when it loaded it would say a file was missing. Soft reset and it wouldnt say that but 10 minutes later it would act up again.
I thought I had a brick and was about to call warranty return and flash back to stock. I did the stock flash first (the new one that I was building mine from) and I havent had a problem since. I then put back my modded ROM and have reflashed another 50 times with no problems. That was in Aug.

check if your windows have automatic updates recently? i posted in your romthread and then made a search to try help you out love you are using threaded e-mail and need your updates , i read some had issues back in the blackstone forum that their usb drivers updated and then had same issue as you, so one remotley possible issue could be your usb drivers somehow mysteriously changed.
but i am not sure just trying to help

There is a way to flash the stock SPL via SD card. Check out the HardSPL thread and a search should find it.

HTCST ÚÈÒHTCE
Cmd>task 29
Format BINFS start
CE start start block=321, total block=3775
ERASE block 2778 FAIL !!!

Format BINFS end
Cmd>task 8
Cmd>
I have been trying for hours and hours mtty task 29 and reset and try to load ROM, it still is not working...........
Maybe maybe not
I found a guy close to my office who says he has some flashing software he bought. he reckons he can flash it abck to stock like it came from the factory. Says it will take about 45 minutes cause if it doesnt work he has to open the phone and bridge ic's or something and then flash it. says i can watch him do it. Will charge me 35$ if he gets it right. Will go there in the morning and try and get it sorted. Maybe i can get the software from him somehow. Will let you know

Umm, good luck with that
Yeah, keep us updated on that please...
Right now, mine is stuck on an infinite loop. It wont turn on without being plugged in. When plugged in, I still cant turn it on with the Hardware buttons, but it shows the orange light like its charging. About 5 mins later, it shows the Touch Pro 2 screen, then shuts itself back off. Over and over.
