Hi
I have an XDA mini s which works apart from not being able to send
photos. I also have problems using IE - I can connect but often get
an error message after that.
I was advised to download a software update but am having problems
locating one - all the relevant 02 pages seem not to be working.
Appreciate any help.
thanks
Matthew

XDA IIi - want to upgrade

Hi,
I just got my XDA IIi and have no idea what I am doing re: updating it.
Basically, I am happy with everything currently with the phone except the bluetooth stuff.
My bluetooth headset picks up a lot of static and there is no way that it has a 30 foot range. I have the Plantonics 640 (if that makes any difference)
I have read that I can update my ROM on my phone which will help the bluetooth reception. I can't figure out which on to download, and how to install. I downloaded an update from O2 but I get this country error code.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks, I saw that post already. Which one should I download? Will it help with my bluetooth reception or is it just my headset
thanks

URGENT HELP NEWBIE! CANT HEAR OR BE HEARD ON THE XDA 2S!

I have tried searching everywhere but i cannot find anyone with a similar problem.
I have an o2 XDA 2s which so far has been the best phone PDA i have used.
However, I have one small problem sometimes which happens about once in every ten calls i answer or dial, I cant hear anything the person on the other end is saying and they cant hear me too. However, I am able to make/recieve calls as normal if i do a soft reset which takes about 2 mins, rather irritating. Has anyone had a similar experience? Its just so fustrating when the phone is such a superb phone that this rather small problem happens.
Please can someone advise me on what the best thing to do is, I have tried a hard reset but this has not solved anythinga and the problem remains.
Should i try upgrade using the upgrades provided for the XDA 2S on the o2 site? i understand this flashes the ROM or something. Is this easy to do and is there a chance of doing worse damage when flashing? also my XDA which is an O2 phone is unlocked onto all networks, i.e. orange, tmobile, vodafone, does this mean if i flash the rom that i will lose the unlocked networks and be stuck on O2? I would be very grateful if someone could advise a newby as to how i could rectify this problem on what otherwise is a superb phone.
Thanks
riaz
I use 2 Blue Angels with 2 ROMs 2 versions at the same time, one is WM2003 radio 1.13 and the other is WM5 radio 1.15.Both face the same problems as yours.
After I uninstalled O2 Active user interface from both Blue Angels, that problem was fixed.
If you have O2 Active user interface installed, remove it and see if it is fixed or not.
I've had the same issue on my Orange M2000. Apparently it's bluetooth related and a couple of ROM updates do actually improve it.
Re: XDA 2s
thanks for your response, how do i find if i have O2 Active user interface on my phone? or whether it is installed on my phone? and how do i remove it?
Im sorry i am a newbie so all this is new to me, but where theres a will theres a way!
Thanks
I don't think it's anything to do with the O2 software; the same problem affects Orange devices. Try updating with the official updates, if that doesn't work search the forum for "silent call" and you will hopefully find someone discussing which ROMs are the best for this issue.

Click to collapse
1) What firmware are you using.
2) Do you use bluetooth or wired headset
2) Why is this so URGENT sounds like you've had the problem for a while.
mic/speaker
I permanently keep my bluetooth on which so far is working...
I have an XDA 2s
rom version 1.40.00WWe
Radio Version 1.15.00
I have not flashed or hard reset my phone asi thought it may make things worse!
Update with the O2 D/L...
As you have XDA IIs, and are on O2 why not update with the official update from O2? It'll upgrade your ROM and fix a couple of known issues with the PDA... I used this 'new' ROM for some time before flashing to WM5, and it worked flawlessy. even with the O2 Active installed (which is bloatware anyway!)...
You can find it here
Or you could flash with a base ROM and use a Cooked Ext ROM to get the apps you want, or take the plunge and get WM5!! It's all in the Wiki, and quite simple if you read a little

Xda Stellar & skype?

I recently upgraded from an xda mini-s to a stellar and would like to install skype as I had before. Having searched this forum it was suggested I download Skype for windows Mobile for my stellar - however I've just tried this as an soon as you try and run the .exe I get an error message saying it's nt a valid pocket pc application - can anyone help? I notice anothher message here implies it's not compatible... so I'm a little confused. I'd like skype IM as a minimum on my Stallar if you can help... Thanks lots!
Try connecting PDA to PC, wait till u get a connection via Active Sync then try to install the exe. file from your PC.

Hello - And could you possibly help (Syncing mature newbie)

Hello,
I have been given (kindly) due to a dying SE750i a xdaII
I have set up the docking station and downloaded Activesync from Microsoft however when I plug in my xdaII into the dock the sync window appears with the little window informing me it is retrieving my settings with a spinning green graphic.
It has been doing this for 20 minutes now. Initially I thought it had crashed so I removed the phone and got the message telling me it cannot sync as the phone is off, so I placed the phone on again and it started to sync again.
It is charging fine,
The Activesync I downloaded is Version 4.5 from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmob...ulas/eula_activesync45_1033.mspx?ProductID=76
The xdaII software seems to be ROM version
3.50b.40CS (ROM date 01/13/07)
Can anyone help me get it to connect so I can start to make the phone mine.
Managed to Sync however still think my firmware is out of date, any clues on that?
Also noticed my connection settings for MMS and also mobile web seem to be not there.
Currently using O2 can anyone help on this?
Thank you
Two things:
You have posted you have a XDA II, but this is the forum for the XDA IIi, small difference in name but big difference in what it will do. The IIi, aka Alpine, has WiFi and is stuck on WM2003, the XDA II, aka Himalaya, doesn't and isn't.
If you search on this forum elsewhere you should find a CAB file with the settings for O2, they may even be on the O2 site itself.
