The navigation is cool. IT's just another (paying) alternative to the hog media player. Video is kinda choppy. Just tried it from my movie on the card.
Video needs work, but it is great for music.
Also supports podcasts
I like folder browsing over ID3, not because it's really better, but because I don't have every song's ID3 properly filled. When it is filled... How do you guys come to prefer those interfaces, do you input ID3 tags by hand ?

Still doesn't support many codecs. I haven't tried it yet, but Core Player will play many more file types, and word on this forum is that it is also the best performer for video. To compare performance, you could try the freeware version. The UI looks a bit dated, but I think it uses many of the same codecs and should provide a good preview of what to expect performance wise when buying core Player.

I just use this to correct info. Sometimes the artist names have a difference I need to strip out (The Rolling Stones vs. Rolling Stones)

Kaiser wont be the best phoen with that crappy Speaker phone .. essential on a phone
speaker phone of the kaiser comes bugged.... HTC says its a hardware fault (i readed that in some post in here)

Anyone here tried Smartgear? It wicked fast, but on the Kaiser has some horrible noise for some reason and I can't figure out how to stop it.

thanks for the zip! it's the only one i've been able to find since morphgear's website(s) appears down.
i installed it on my tilt/kaiser and it works good, but afer 5 minutes it stops and promps for activation on the (nes) module, so my question is:
how do i get activation codes if their site is gone?

Better than what? Morphgear?
If it wasn't for the sound issue, I would say Smartgear is by far the best. It's ridiculously fast, so fast in fact you have to artificially restrict the frame rate.
Another bonus, the author of Smartgear is still making updates and is trying to fix the sound issue.
If that issue gets fixed, that's $20 I'll be happy to part with (or whatever it costs)

in fact you can find "a lot" of things there

so far no, it runs really nice. i havnt got the keyboard to work tho, but it doesnt really matter. all i need is the touchscreen, and 1 button to hold down for the right mouse click button.

Some tips and info: The game takes a few seconds to startup, so don't click the executable twice. It WILL run twice... at the same time (duh). lol
For me, the mail key is the one you hold down for right click.

yea i edited the shortcut in my start menu so it says "Warcraft II (Wait for load)" incase anyone else is ever playing on my phone and wants to play warcraft.

I've been playing this game from time to time since my first wm device (hermes) and I can confirm, that this port is tha bomb.
...but one thing have crossed my mind. did anyone consider at some stage to port Diablo? Diablo II would need to much resources, but 1 should run just fine. that would be something...
btw: I was trying to play diablo on psx emu, but... You know. it's not working well on kaiser. about 14 fps at most

Warcraft 2 does indeed very smooth, have it running on my kaiser for some months aswell and I have no complaints.
For those interested in this type of game, I also suggest Age of Empire port for PPC, which manages to be even better then Warcraft, specially graphics wise (at least it's my opinion).

Under QVGA (which is the kaiser's res), there is Xscale, arm, and Full Release. Download the Full Release.

Isn't the Kaiser more of a do-it-all and the Touch Diamond more of a show piece?
Silly comparison. They're both slow if you look the GLBenchmarks compared to most Nokias, iPhones, and SonyEricssons.
HTC+Qualcomm == dredging the bottom of the barrel.

GLbenchmarks mean nothing if you use your phone for a true multidevice. Lets see Iphone let me use it as a cellular modem, give me full customization of its OS, VNC/SSH into my servers, remotely administer my clients networks via VPN access, ...... this list can go on forever. Bottom of the barrel you say???? Hrmmmmmm.
As far as Slow goes.......... dual cores handling the OS and radio systems isnt what i consider slow...............

Dual Core sounds nice BUT, all phones have 2 chips, 1 to wake the other, and in Kaiser 1 is used solely to process call information, and if you look at the actual UI speed... not what I call Fast. Doesn't matter how many processors power Kaiser, it's slow as it stands now.

Why do you say it has less functionality? I'm not contradicting you, I am really asking, because I thought the Diamond would have the same capabilities as the Kaiser. After hearing the rumors that AT&T will get the Touch Pro, I was so excited to get one, but now I'm worried it may not be as functional as the Tilt.
Along the same lines, I was wondering, does the VGA screen pose a problem? What I mean is as far as compatibility with most games, programs etc?

flash memory / expandability (card slot)? QWERTY? in these, the Kaiser is way better
I suppose it's pretty individual issue. Diamond has faster CPU, VGA screen, sexy interface with 4Gb internal memory without expansion slot, so as a result this is rather alternative to iPhone with limited advantage of using loads of free or hacked WM software limited by those 4Gb only.
Keiser is solid QWERTY-featured 100% WM device with all its outcome. For instance I had been using HTC Blue Angel (wich is actually direct ancestor of Keiser) for 4 years and done to it almost everything except direct sexual intercourse.
The choice of XDA veteran.

Does the Diamond have Drivers? Maybe its because the CPU isnt getting its ass beat by drawing the screen all day long.
Could be another benefit to getting working drivers on the kaiser.

Toshiba G810 better even they are using MSM7200 400Mhz which is same as TYTN 2.
Look at the video , the drawing speed is much much smoother and faster than our TYTN2 .... HTC , you really need to DO SOMETHING.

OMG, I just found that in Russia they were and are real big on the Spectrum and there is an emulator that even works full screen with the keyboard its called UnrealSpeccy PPC.
I could even map all the A-Z keys and play the Hobbit on it. Supports Qvga and VGA as well. Got 50fps on my TyTn II and even had a go at jetpack and it works real good.

Anyway Menneisyys, are there some news on any emulator that could make some use of the new KaiserGL drivers or the Omnia ones ?
I've tried many emulators (Morphgear, PocketSNES, etc.. and FPSECE) but none seem to make use of the drivers (I mean no fps increase with the Omnia for 2D or KaiserGL for 3D).

Unfortunately some games like North&South didn't start . I will give it a try on Kaiser and see how it works but this reqire digging my long lost CDs with Amiga programs .
