None of the links here are currently good for the WM 6.1 cooked ROMs. Can someone PM me that has it handy? I'm looking for the "normal" ROM, not the lite one.
I got WM6.1 from here.

hope it helps you
Hi all...
This is AT&T rom. ¿nobody have a Vodafone rom?.
I think you are going to cook it yourself. most of the time people cook roms to remove operator branding. not put it back in.
this is a fairly plain ROM. I am not sure what you mean by it being AT&T.
700w
will the 6.1 work on treo 700w?

Hi vertex,
i would suggest you take a look at the following link before choosing a ROM as it lists different builds and explains what each one offers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569715
If you want something close to your stock 6.5 version, then you may want to consider Miri's or Dutty's ROMs (although Dutty has now stopped developing ROMs for the Touch HD i believe) if you want more of a customized version. For more information, check this link for a list of Miri's, Dutty's, and other cooks ROMs:
http://htcpedia.com/soft/htc-blackstone-rom.html
Else if you want some raw performance boost, choose Topix ROM especially the vanilla ones.
Fact is, choosing the best ROM is a matter of preferences. Taste of yours may vary from thousand others with the same device. Hence, before choosing a custom cooked ROM, forget the positive reviews people give on the ROM and instead, test them yourself personally. Probably have each of the ROM running in your device for atleast one day to analyze which one performs better and finally choose the best one for your taste.
But I’m pretty sure by the time you find the best ROM, a new cooked ROM emerges, hence the testing continues. You get addicted
I am also looking for a 6.5 rom , but a "naked" one
No Manilla, no apps, just the wm 6.5 as small and as fast as possible.
I downloaded the Miri WM 6.5 21885 :: Premium without Manila :: V 33.0 for testing
If anyone else knows any other rom that fits my requirements, please tell me!

Hi Braveheart1980,
try visiting HTCpedia.com as there are many ROMs listed here which also explain what each one offers and some versions that do not have Manilla:

Regards.
I just flashed WinMo 6.5 to my opal, but it has lots of bugs. Is there a way I can reflash WinMo 6.1 to my opal? The 6.5 version that I flashed is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606750. Thanks for any help, and also for reading this.
Just realized that I asked kinda a silly question. WinMo 6.5 is buggy, full of useless (according to me) stuff and very heavy (not lite). I've found the links to WinMo 6.1 but damn Rapidshare.
Was it that bad? Maybe you chose an old ROM. Anyway I guess I'll stick for a while like you with the original 6.1 till we get a stable 6.5 release
6.5 is not stable and lite
I agree guys, i have tried 3 versions of 6.5 ROMs cooked by different moderators of this site but all of them have some bugs, the battery life is reduced to 5 hours only. I am need of an original Viva 6.1 pro ROM, please help.... Right now i am having 6.1 ROM but that too has some bugs.... Thanx for any help in advance.... Till then, we have to wait for a Stable 6.5 pro ROM.....
Searching everywhere i could not find a single thread dedicated for
blackstone windows mobile 6.1 ROMS
in different threads around i found out that a lot of people still prefer 6.1 versions of blackstone roms for its speed and reliability and I did try several ROMs for different cookers using 6.5 and 6.1 and i have to admit that microsoft windows mobile 6.5 is a great disappointment for a lot of people including myself ... its not the cookers its that windows mobile OS 6.5 sucks ...
therefore i have decided to create this thread to be the place to find the latest 6.1 ROM for our beloved blackstone and i hope we can find new ones here ... cookers stopped developing 6.1 for months now they say it is becoming something of the past and 6.5 is getting more and more builds everyday and trying each one requires flashing several times and it takes time so there is no more time for cooking 6.1 ROMs 6.1 that our blackstone was designed for ! and runs it so smoothly and faster than any ROM around ... looking at the benchmark you will find the first 20 to 25 fastest ROMs are running 6.1 !!
the latest 6.1 ROM i found is Topix 3.1.2 Oct.28.2009 not even in a thread of its own to separate it from 6.5 discussions it is a perfect ROM but I would love to run a 6.1 from NRG or Miri created in 2010 !
+1 support.specialy l26 ultimate v4 rom maybe with 6.1..

I did but i prefer Topix ... it is more stable and facebook doesnt crash manila at all and you do not need to edit registries for it to work
how about Laurentius ROM 3.55? even it's old but seems very promising

making a new 6.1 rom for blackstone or asking cookers to keep developing this version of windows mobile for black stone is a "Blackstone ROM development"
thank you
I for one would also be interested in more WM6.1 development.
I got lost with all this 6.5 and Sense stuff, was going to sell the HD is was so slow and annoying, flashed to Topix 6.1 and WOW, I had forgotten how fast the HD was...
Bring on some more 6.1 development PLEASE
topix wm6.1 is the way to go.
alas, if someone release a better (e.g. more preconfigured ) rom, i bet they would get lots of followers simply because the speed of wm6.1 is awesome
can someone posts an (active) link for a 6.1 ROM without Manila? the only i know is the Superlite by Onkolog but the link is dead...and i don't want thousand useless Manila files(over 40mb) on my HD, better MS3 for me...thanks
+1 for more wm6.1 roms, it seems that this is the OS which will bring the best out of this device.

RS Link to Onkologs Latest SuperLite
Really a question for the Chefs.
Guys,
There maybe a few issues with this.
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think MS has released any updated builds of v6.1 (Could be wrong) that our beloved chefs could get their hands on.
Not that I have any cooking skills but I would think that all our chefs have modded their kitchens to deal with v6.5.xx and may not be willing to take, what they may see, as a step back.
This of course is just my humble opinion but I guess the most likely thing to do would be to ask the chefs themselves.

I'm totally with you on that. I never use Manila when MS3 is so nice.
I do appreciate that cookers want to try and fit in the latest and greatest, but it seems to me the latest and greatest is just going to get slower and slower. The HD is great and all, but speedwise it's not much better than the ancient Blue Angel. Heh, thinking that makes me want to see if I still have an old BA lying around and see how IT handles 6.5!
In any case it seems fairly evident that 6.5 has some speed issues compared to 6.1. Now I have no idea personally why that is, whether it's just Manila or the OS itself. Regardless it'd be nice if 6.1 wasn't forgotten all together.

the latest build is 21055 as shown in the screen shot from topix rom 3.1.2 but this Rom has manila 2.1 ... it works fast as nothing else and the manila version without weather animation is very decent but you are asking for a rom without manila
this is one of the reasons I wanted this thread ! we do not even have a clean version of our favorite os with the latest build only manila versions
More 6.1 roms, 6.5 (sense) roms are not made for Blackstone!
ok, sense is looking cool, but why cant some one make 6.1 rom with colors at the tab. and just make it for speed and everyday use. no fancy stuff! FAST FAST FAST!
roms with 6.5 have 50% rom use. 6.1 roms have 32% rom use.. big differens i think..
i'm new here
any orignal win 6.5 for x1???
i sow a lot off cook wind but didnt see any original
welcome velemajstore
there is no original WM6.5 for X1
If you want original non-cooked WM6.5 then is X2 best solution for you. Or other HTC phone which has official WM6.5
I tried almost all of WM6.5 roms with HTC Sense and all of them is so slow compared to WM6.1
voodoons is right: there is no official 6.5 update for X1, and none planned. However, there are some excellent unofficial 6.5 ROMs that are worth a go, if you are prepared to take the (small) risk of corrupting your phone!
Of particular merit are:
826X-peria ROM - these are my favourite.
Xperia UnOff Series - try either Infinite or 1.5 if you want a ROM closest to the official ROM.
gtrab's SEX1 R3 is getting on for a year old now, so it contains older builds of Windows Mobile, but it is a well-renowned ROM.
Hope that little summary helps. I recommend you have a go, as I have got such a better phone now, thanks to the efforts of these fine chefs!
