I just spoke to someone at UKPhoneShop who resell T-Mobile contracts and they said they should have the MDA Compact IV from the 30th of June. Therefore from the 30th of June T-mobile will be selling the MDA Compact IV, there's some contracts that are definitely available from UKPhoneShop but the 12month contracts haven't been confirmed by T-mobile yet.
http://www.ukphoneshop.com/T-Mobile/contract/mobile-phones/MDA-Compact%20IV/2255/index.html
Looks good.
Have you seen anyone else selling it? Do you think the will be the first to get the mda compact iv?
Be weary, the features are the diamonds, maybe they jus didnt switch them yet but its says its 11.5mm thick amd 4gig of internal memory those are diamond specs.

According to pdadb, the mda has 4gb too, but you're right the thickness should be 11.3mm.

It could have different back cover as the O2 Xda diamond has.
sounds good if it is going to be the 30th, although i dont think it will be the MDA - as people have said it will be a diamond with a t-mobile contract.
I'm not expecting the actual MDA until end of july
*crosses fingers that it is the 30th*
Before you guys consider going for the T-Mobile version of the Touch Diamond, be aware that it looks completely different and not really in a positive way if you ask me.
Even the O2 version looks slightly different but not by much.
I saw the MDA Compact IV during a presentation and compared to the Touch Diamond, I would even call it UGLY, so buyer beware.
11.5mm... 11.3mm... You'd need a micrometer to tell the difference tbh. We're not talking Diamond vs. Pro here.
Personally I like the Compact IV's hardware looks (of course pink TF3D looks like a duck's behind, but that's why we're here, to get rid of stuff like that), so that doesn't bother me. The more rounded profile vs. square edged Diamond makes up for the loss of the fancy battery cover.
What does bother me is giving up the £5/month discount you get buying from T-Mob direct for the sake of getting it a week earlier. If all I cared about was getting a Diamond a week or two early at the expense of price I would have paid Expansys' 500% markup on a grey import.
Supposedly it'll be on T-Mob's site by the 6th, I think I can wait.
I spoke to the guy on the phone and he was very adoment about how the Mda Compact IV will be better than the diamond because it will be tuned for the network. They're just reselling a Tmobile contract so I'm pretty sure they are getting the MDA Compact IV.
They're not one of the people who sell any phone with any contract, they re-sell the proper Tmob contracts.
mr_Ray, where did you hear Tmob will have it on the 6th?

oh, and we are taliking UK right?
Think it will be worth hanging on for the T-Mobile MDA compact iV. Hopefully early July.
There could quite well be another ROM improvement. Also the Route 66 Sat Nav 7 day trial is worth having before you buy it out right.
I spoke to the shop, they are indeed selling the T-mobile compact iv.
Date wise it depends but it looks like v early july. or perhaps sooner depending in t-mobile themselves.
As for the tariff, I can't see any evidence that the tariffs will be any better directly from retail, especially as you get cash-back from buying online?
1st of july is its supposed release date on the system
Just called the upgrade department again and spoke to someone who didn't sound like he knew anything about the phone, by the fact he tried to push "normal" phones on me He said it still says coming soon
damiantmc, is there any information on pricing yet?
Just called T-Mobile web sales 3 times and got 3 different answers...
1. Lady - clueless - "sorry, i dont know"
2. Man - semi clueless - "we don't get told due dates"
3. Man - switched on - "its on our internal system as coming soon, i cant give you an exact date but i'd guess at about the end of next month"

LOL I got the same answers
I guess July is the month, but knowing t-mobile it will be September/October just like the MDA Compact III
If the Diamond is retailing at £420+ what will the HTC Touch Pro cost?
The expected date for release of the T-mobile Compact iv on the ukphoneshop website seems to have gone.
The date is now 07/07
i work for tmobile l+r and it is indeed early july although no confirmed date yet, dieing to get one tho looks nice

It has been 16 years since my last confession.
For the last few days I put my sim card in 2g iphone. I know I know, what about the Tilt. It just wasn't doing it for me anymore, I had grown bored, it was such a routine opening and closing it.
Then there right in front of me was a 8gb iphone. It was so sexy, smooth, touchable. I could feel my heart race as I stocked it's face, I knew I had to have one. I contacted hell and asked them to order me a new bigger 16gb black 3g iphone for me.
After hours of pleasure touching the 2g phone, I started to become bored. I started to realize how my Tilt did this better, and my Tilt does that better. Where is my file explorer, why must I listed to music via a cord, how come I can't copy text from craigslist.org add into a note, why can't I send a mms, why is it going soooooo slow, where are all the settings, why must it insist on using itunes (which I HATE). Soon I found myself having a crisis. Could I go back to the Tilt after all that I had done? Would it accept me back? Could I overlook a some of its shortcomings?
We'll see. But I will tell you this father (while holding up the Tilt), I put my sim card back where it belongs.
The new 16gb iphone will be here in about a week or so, I still have the 8gb version that I will sell on ebay. does anybody know if I can accept the 16gb iphone, activated it and then sell it right away? I know I will be locked into my contract, but the 16gb iphones are going for 900-1300.00 US dollars on ebay. I paid AT&T 321.00 with tax for it. that is a lot of money to be made if I am able to sell it, if they will let me.
Did you know that if you buy a used locked (AT&T) Iphone, you must activate it through Itunes before you can use it? (after a hard reset).
Jeff
EDIT:UPDATE: I called AT&T today and they said that I can sell the 16gb Iphone immediately after receiving it. I just have to activate it (36 dollars) and then call them and deactivate it and reactivate whatever phone I will be using. In this case it will be my tilt. BUT I will be in a new 2year contract, if I refuse the new phone when it arrives, I will go back to only having 1 year left on my contract.
Iphone plans are a little more than usual so you need to do some calculations and actually see how much you will be gaining... Remember 2 years contract..
The Tilt will not judge you. Welcome back.
One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble.. One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble.. One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble.. One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble.. One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble.. One of us one of us, gooble goble gooble goble..
Well, Son. If you intentions are good, you will be forgiven. The Tilt-sus will always be waiting for you open arms.
Just remember what you've told me, and you shall try to never put yourself in this situation again.

I was about to make the same mistake, but I suddently remembered how much I hated itune. The fact that the iphone cannot act as modem is also a major show stopper for me.
Btw, I now have the best of every world! A TyTN II with an iphone data plan (in switzerland it is quite a good deal imho).

Indeed, I must admit I was positively surprised when they announced the prices. I read the tables 3 times to be sure I hadn't missed an asterisk
How did you get the Orange iphone plan? Bought an iphone with contract and sold the phone? Or do they unofficially offer you the plan without iphone too?
And where the hell does one set the country flag / provider in the profile?! Looked for it numerous times but never found

I could have the iphone plan without having to buy any iphone; I just called the hotline and asked for it. The guy was a little surprised but 15 minutes later it was enabled.
I could use my kaiser as a modem and surf with my laptop (what iphone can't) without any issue.
I also looked for a while before I found where I could set my country on my profile, but right now I have no idea where it is.

Personally I'm with Sunrise and have the 3.50CHF / day of use with unlimited access plan. Happy with it, as I don't need to have mobile net access often, but then when I do I know I can do whatever I want and download heavily with the laptop
First of all as a newbie, and second as a physician in real life, i must say that i am disappointed. I hope you at least wore protection when u put the sim wher it did not belong. there are many free clinics that you can go to to get things sorted out. Get that shot of PCN soon
You know... I bought my TyTN 2 months ago, but I managed to brick it. To make a long story short, I also managed to unbrick it with the help of Jocky.
Anyway, I was thinking (while it was still bricked) of buying a touch pro for my job sim, and another phone for my personal sim (my years old SE k790i is... worn out).
Since I got my TyTYN 2 back from the dead, I thought of having an iPhone 3G as my sexyeh personal phone.
But Gowd... how I HATE iTunes. Then I decided (well, for now at least) to buy the raphael and stick with the TyTN 2.
Best of both worlds that became the best of one world
i too am trying to defect.. i'm actually not a PDA/high tech phone type of guy. just wanted to try it out and see if i liked, and i while i was into it at first.. i just lost interest.

Is it just me or is that really high? Or is that just what they go for over there? (I paid not even half that amount for mine)
Plus if someone is reading the Kaiser forum isn't it safe to assume they already have a Kaiser?
Brand new TyTN II's retail for around £450! I paid £460 for mine in Feb, then the price jumped to around £500 now its back to £450. The Touch Pro I want to upgrade to costs £500 at the moment.
I see you are a smart Alec but do you realise many people check this forum for info before they buy their devices just like I did and there are also many people with broken Kaisers that may want a replacement. I find your comments a bit uninformed for a senior member.
Honestly that is a little pricy! check gumtree to have an idea of price (just an idea) some may be fake, but i think its just a little over the top..#

Seriously man, you got ripped off.
That is not what they cost.
I did a little price checking and I couldn't find any online that are close to that expensive.
You can buy them brand new for cheaper than you are selling yours used for.
And yes, of course, there will be a couple people here that might possibly be interested in buying a Kaiser, buy the fact is that percentage of the total users here will be very small, and you will have more luck posting almost anywhere else.
Well I must admit the price is in the top for a used Tytn II... However saying that £300 is a price that is more than a new Tytn II just isn't true!
In Denmark the TYTN II costed about £ 520 when it was released around a year ago...
Now I'm not sure if you guys that say the price is to high have thought about that the £300 is without any contract? And saying that I actually find it very strange that many people in here buy their phone cheap but commits them selves to an expensive contract for 2 years knowing many of you will look after a new phonemodel after 6 months... ;-)
I would like to know what the total price is for a £150 TYTN II after the contract is over? If it's under the £300 then you're right the price is to high - if not then it must be ok... (saying that though the price for a used TYTN II is about £200 - £300 depending about the quality and extra stuff)
For reference my used Kaiser cost me $190USD which is about £120. So less than half of what you are asking.
£300 is over $600CAD. Yes I absolutely CAN buy a NEW Kaiser for less than that (no contract)
Maybe the pricing is different in the stores over there, but online that is what they go for.
In the UK, a Kaiser brand new offline definately costs £350 plus. If you buy off ebay they will around £200 depending on condition and if you buy/upgrade with a 12 month contract you can get it free but it may be a Vario3 etc.
So £300 is at the top end but depending on condition you might be able to sell for close to that on ebay. Especially if it is non branded and sim unlocked and includes your satnav software.
Maybe you checked some online stores in Kabul but if you look at the reputable and hTc recommeded sites I have listed below you will find out the cheapest one costs £435.

Got a new from ebay for £299 about a year ago. Lost it in a taxi last week, got another new one from ebay for £217 a couple of days ago. You can get a new touch pro for around £400 on ebay now.
Hey m8 dont wana ruin ur chances of selling but im from east london as well and bought a tytn2 off a mate for just under 150. writing this on it now and it also isnt scratched etc.
300 is high imho 200 is a reasonable amount maybe pushing 250 with ur co pilot stuff
I think that the OP understands the opinions on prices, but this is not a set market, and he can choose to sell it at what ever HE feels is fair.

No one was hating, I was just asking if that was really what they go for over there. Apparently it is. But then again I have sold phones for well over market value a few times as well.
$580USD for a used one is crazy. You should buy them from over here and sell them there you would make a killing. You could easily make $200-$300 profit on each one.
Indeed, European prices are ripoffs... Here a new Kaiser at retail price without contract is still $900 now! You can go down to about $450 with a 2-year contract.
However it's interesting to see that the used market prices are very low, no way you'd sell one at the price the OP sold it for, they usually go for under $400.
There are already concurrent offers (some guy sells refurbished/as new ones for about $280 with 1GB card and in large quantities...) or people get them off ebay.
This thread is madness!
I don't know anyone that would pay 300 quid for a used Kaiser.
I got mine over a year ago (the week they were released in the UK) free from T-mobile!
They were selling it then for 350 without contract!
You must have found a complete muppet to pay that much, good on you!
Seriously, just have a look on ebay right now - the most expensive one (out of 53) is 230 pounds!
300 euros for used?
kaiser can be easily found new for less than 400$ (~277euro)

Clove will have stock Thursday 11/3. Unlocked mobile will send its second shipment early next week. First shipment sold out and sent 10/28.

Higher up front cost and lower monthly here - http://www.onecompare.com/phone?hs=...=30&contract=&gift=&extra=1&cashback=&sortby=
The Note has only been announced as being available on O2 in the UK so far based on Samsung's London event last week, the launch date was originally due to be tomorrow but has been moved to 03/11, however this device is not showing on the o2 coming soon page. It is however showing on internal stock checking system with no release date..
Phones4U only have Orange on their website, however it has a deliver date of 23 Nov...
I'd love to hear about contract versions of this phone and when all of the information will be released. It seems strange that with the phone's imminent release that none of the stores appear to have any information and all of the company websites don't appear to be showing any dates.
For such a powerful/expensive/flagship handset the PR and marketing for the masses is terrible in the UK. No store is advertising it at all :/
yeah i've been to high st shops today in London. carphonewarehouse , phone4u , o2 , vodafone but non of them know what galaxy note is ,,, lol oh well,
ps. on carphonewarehouse website the galaxy note is on comingsoon page.
I've met samsung representative on 25 Oct (Friday) in Carephone warehouse with galaxy note in his hands.
When I asked him about availability he told me that it's going to be in on Monday 28th Oct, which didn't seem right. Been there again today and they still are waiting for the stock.
Hopefully it'll be in on Thursday so I'll finally judge whether to pull the trigger and take it.
I'm waiting to see if the GNote will be made available on the 3 network, to make the most of the "all you can eat" data plans.
I'll wait until I see it in the flesh too - having read some of the posts on here, I would imagine Shaq would struggle to hold it!

It's a shame that the only options for "real" unlimited data plan is either 3 network or giffgaff (you'll need o2 locked or unlocked phone for this one tho) :/.
It's so easy to exceed more than 1 GB bandwidth, especially with downloading apps, wallpapers or watch some videos on youtube.
on buymobilephones.net can preorder contract Expected on 19/11/2011 , on vodafone, Tmobile ,orange and o2 network.

This is at the top end of high end phones and is brand new with limited stock at the moment. SIM free in the UK it is at least £540 unless you look to import it from abroad. Whichever way you cut it to have this phone and airtime is going to cost.
£100 + £31 x 24 = £844.
You must be getting a lot of minutes/texts/data for that price. There are contract deals for a hair over £700 over two years, but that's £210 up front and then ~£20 per month. If I wanted a contract that's the way I'd go, but instead I've bought SIM free from amazon.de (£486 for the phone) and will be using giffgaff to run the phone. Worst case for me is that I pay £10 per month to giffgaff for a goody bag, but in practice I don't need much mobile data and can get by with even less cost by paying as I go. It's also worth considering buying SIM free and then looking at 12 month SIM only contracts, which can net out to around £8 per month with cash back. Check out http://www.hotukdeals.com/mobiles/deals/hot to seek out some good offers. Example - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/t-mobile-300-minutes-300-texts-choose-your-booster-1050776
My last branded phone (Orange San Francisco) was so riddled with network operator crud that it had to be rooted and modded to remove the toot. Orange have never released a ROM upgrade for it in over 12 months so I'd still be stuck on 2.1 Eclair if I'd played by their rules. Now I'm running CM7 on it and all is good. It would need to be a persuasive contract deal to make me want to put up with that crap ever again.
For anyone wanting to go the contract route you can use cash back websites to take a little of the sting out of the deal. I use TopCashBack and Quidco. Probable savings are a minimum of £30 and possibly over £100, although the cash back is not guaranteed.
Just to elaborate on the last post...
Amazon.de is cheap... £470 for the note...
Since my T-Mobile contract is up...my £15mnth contract can go down to £9 automatically...if I haggle..then much less.
£9 x 24 (New Galaxy Contracts are 24mnths) = £216
+
£470 for the phone
= £686
Most retailers in the UK are selling the Note for £570-650 so £686 with a contract is a bargain. So it is better to buy the phone sim free and find a cheap contract.
The Note contracts are £35 minimum for 24 months plus they make you pay for the phone. 35 x 24 = £840 !! plus £30-£120 for the phone = EXPENSIVE..
Thing is will there be a difference between the German (EU) version and the UK version in terms of the look/feel of the software and the updates?

^ Seems like a decent contract to me (suits my needs...) 24 * 25.54 = £612.96 + £129.99 for phone = £742.95 .. £56.95 for expensive but it saves me £470 upfront costs... but I will ring the T-Mobile upgrade number to haggle...I don't want to pay for the phone...

What about this one - 18 * 25.54 = £459.72, plus £179.99 for the phone = £639.71
That's pretty good... only downside is its 300 / 300 ... I can live with that... but in case you do ever need to use more the charges will rack up.
Right now for £9.32 a month I get 600mins, 500 texts, Unlimited Internet (1GB) , Unlimited Landline Booster... Usual cost of this contract excluding landline booster is £25+ ... and they only give you 500mb instead of the 1gb I currently enjoy.
so it works out better for me to buy the note sim free from Germany.
May be when O2 / carphone warehouse etc reveal there tariffs we will have a better idea of what to do.
It seems that you can now pre-order this phone SIM free from Unlocked Mobiles for a 3rd October delivery, which is sooner than what some are expecting.
I am not aloud to post links on this forum yet it would seem, so go to Unlocked-Mobiles dot co dot uk and then select the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the Model drop down box at the top of the page.
Seems exspensive, about 1000 USD after tax or 750 EUR.

They listed it right after the announcement so I suspect both the price and the release date are subject to change.

Media Markt / Saturn in Germany - can be ordered now for 700 €. In stock on November 1st.
Still too expensive. I counted up to 650 at most.
Price will drop a bit till then. 650 still a lot (for not-iPleople )
I paid £630 for my Note 3 on release last year... 5 weeks later people were picking it up for £580 or so, price will drop it always does.. I'm toying with it.. Not a major Samsung lover these days though. So will be a tough decision.
I found some prognosis of the price searcher. It says Note 4 will drop significantly in first 3 months, like previous ones:

Yeah it will be 40% cheaper after Xmas.
After my N3 experience I am reluctant to spent that kind of money again on Samsung.
N4 is only worth £350-400 at most.

Well UK Samsung store availability is 9th October only if you pre order.
850 euros in France
First shops are showing a price of 850 euros. Doubt that a lot of people will pay that price. Samsung is playing the game of Apple!
Should be around 600 euros to be a success. Note 4 does not bring enough plus compare to Note 3 and has lost USB 3 which does not make sense to me! That was of a big help mainly with huge SD Card it can support and huge video files you can capture...
I predict the price will drop faster this year thanks to the iphone 6 plus

This is all very conflicting. The UK launch is set for the 10th of October, I know that the Experience Stores often do a special opening the day before which ties in obviously with the 9th but this information along with pre-ordering isn't anywhere on their websites. at £599 it appears to be more expensive than many other price quotes too.

£629 same price as Note 3 at launch last year. If you want it cheaper wait 3 months.

I am talking about the OP quoting a £599 price. Where did you get your £629 price from? I realise waiting 3 months will be cheaper obviously! But Clove Technology for example, are quoting a £575 price Inc VAT which again is all conflicting.

£629 is the price you need to pay from the Samsung UK Experience stores when you go to preorder in store.

I also noticed that only the Samsung pre-order allows purchase of the gold/bronze version (the one I ordered). Other sites such as Clove and Amazon Germany only offer the black/grey and white options.
I still find it bizarre that the price of the Note drops everywhere but Canada after launch. The Note 3 has stayed at $750 since launch here. Good for early adopters at least.

Thanks. That makes it clearer. Though why Samsung can't offer better deals to pre-orders I don't know. I think it might be better to wait a few days and save a lot of money.
Good to see you by the way, it was all about the K Zoom I believe last time we spoke??

Hello all ..
Please post the store where you bought your zuk z1 . Make sure the store is legit
in Official site http://www.zuk.hk/
I see many Chinese Stores ..It would be good if we got other reliable stores
or if you already have it please share experience with this smartphone ?
( Performance -Battery - Camera - GPS - Wifi - etc ...)
Thanks ..
I don't have it yet, but i bought it officially from ZUK via Amazon.de. (sold bei ZUK, shipped by Amazon).
Bought mine via Amazon UK. Next day delivery. £260. £20 more expensive that if I bought it from China but of course it has Cyanogen OS and there is no long wait or possible import taxes

Mine was ordered on the night from Wednessday to Thursday. So basically ordered Thursday, got shipped today (Friday) and will be delivered by Monday.
Mine from tomtop ordered 19-10 got it on 23-10 no taxes.
Item made on 12-10 11 days later in my hand......
Speedy those Chinese
Where do you see when it was produced? Is it printed on the box?
I bought from Tomtop (France) and delivered in 3 working days to the UK. Paid £221.99 with no custom taxes/duties. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311460148602?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
The phone has received many OTA updates and now is a lot more stable & has gone super speed. There is one tiny bug with the App Drawer. If scrolling realy fast sometimes it's stuck with the large letters A-Z and does not shrink back to regular size until you scroll again.
In the States you can get many decent smartphones at relatively low prices but in Europe prices tend to be a lot higher. This is probably one of the exceptions. I'm delighted to pay only £222 for such a great smartphone.

I ordered at zuk-store.com (because of the two years warranty and european service center)
It was a mistake. They hadn't the grey version in stock, but I bought it anyway (22nd of october) - the devices are announced to arrive at their store on the 30th of october, but no word got out if they have been distributed to the customers.
I should have bought them elsewhere
(I have to add, I'm really not patient when it comes to buying eletronic stuff... )
amazon.it
i bought mine on amazon..
for 299€ i received a gray z1 at home in two days
at the moment i am really highly satisfied.. first of all for the battery !!!
great phone.

Robpollard, I am beginning to think that I made a mistake too. I've ordered via zuk-store.com for the very same reason as you (warranty and european service centre). I ordered on the 26th but at that time, it showed that the stock will come on the 28th but then date changed to 30th next day.
They haven't replied to any of my messages as of yet about when will it get dispatched. Clearly you've been waiting longer than me, and what made matters worse for me is that fact that TomTop on eBay is happy to ship me the phone from its Madrid warehouse to my address in Estonia for €290 delivered.
I am hoping to hear from zuk-store tomorrow. But surely if the stock was to be replenished on Friday, 30th. They should have sent the delivered out the same day, or probably it will be tomorrow, Monday 2nd of November which is annoying because we would be waiting 3-5 days on top of it.
Could you please keep me posted with the progress of your order and I'll do vice versa?
Shall do. Let's hope they'll deliver soon ?

I noticed it this morning too. I am torn here now, where are you thinking ordering from? And where is it that you're getting it delivered?
This is the lowest price I've been able to find, TomTop is one of the official sellers but what happens to warranty related matters?
http:/_/goo.gl/CVUe7c (just fix the url by removing underscore).
p.s. Amazon UK has them for £229.
ZUK says that they will be updating the service centre details later. Does that reassure us that at least for any warranty related matters we won't have to ship the device back to HK or China Mainland given that's how most China based resellers would try to honour warranty?
But then again, if you buy it from ZUK-Store then if ZUK will have service centre in EU that it should mean that we should be able to get them serviced as long as they were purchased from an authorised reseller.
Or am I just being too pedantic, and I shouldn't have high hopes for a budget priced phone? And consider it a pretty much without warranty?
I was on the fence too, but decided to demand a refund (which they will grant, their chat-support works rather well). I think I'll wait one or two days and either re-order again or order it elsewhere. Too bad, I'd love to have it in my hands by now.

I can send a link to you unfortunately. The user "ahappydeal" has offered the mobile phone 300 € with price proposal. He immediately accepted my price proposal of 265 €. You can search times. If you do not find him meld again!
