is this english and chinese or just chinese?
It is just Chinese and as I may mention it is also CHT (Traditional Chinese) like CHT from Hong Kong.
I don't know who came up with the TW=Taiwanese suggestion (probably the guys from Mainland China), but Taiwanese would be still written in traditional Chinese characters, however, the language of this ROM is CHT, not TW. The reason for the TW instead of the CHT might be that than some terms are different between HK-Chinese, TW-Chinese and even Mainland-Chinese, TW however in this case doesn't mean Taiwanese aka Minnanhua. It is still refering to Mandarin with maybe some terms which are only used in Taiwan. Compare it to AE and BE or Spanish from Spain and Latin America.
Edit: Wiki updated, seperated the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan Roms into their own sections respectively.
Dennis, happy to have found his Original Stock ROM and eager to start flashing now.
I bought my SGS I9000 in the USA and it came with a firmware without Brazilian Portuguese language.
I have some applications that have Brazilian language, but as I don't have a firmware with this language, these applications run only in English.
Is there a firmware with Brazilian Portuguese language ?
Thanks a lot.
Try a search for the Brazil post probably have the answer .

Has it a Brazilian language ?
Why don't you use one with european portuguese?
The differences are minimal.
I know that, but all apps that has Brazilian language run in English language, even in European Portuguese.

Didn't knew that. I use Darky's 9.5 and it has many languages, but not brazilian portuguese.
Maybe you can ask in AndroidPT forum, there are some Brazilian members there. You have to search because I am not allowed to post links.
I opened a topic there too.
Thanks a lot.

Localization is an important part of today's apps. I felt it while developing my app. A lot of users requested the app to be translated into their language and I was well surprised to see so many willing to help me with the translation. I would never have done it without them. Therefore I propose the following:
Let's create a list of translation volunteers and the language they are willing to help translate into and make it public so any app developer can contact them regarding translation into a specific language.
I also propose developing a standardised way of communication and translation process that we can put up together.
For instance lets all agree on a versioning solution (e.g. Github) that both developers and translation volunteers can use to maintain translation xml files. This way, developer can always update the file on the versioning platform and then translation volunteer can see what has changed and translate the new content.
NOTE - If you reply and volunteer yourself pelase specify what language(s) are you able to help with by selecting it/them from the list below

Perhaps building a table or database of available translators for each language would be a good start. Also, a list of the actually known and supported languages from Android itself would help in building such list. In the listwe, should include name, email, actual country, and available language/dialects from this translator.
For myself, I could help in translating for French. I am Canadian, and so I usually translate for the "fr_CA" language code, but this does not stop me from translating for general French. Of course, we have our own local words for terms such as email, spam, etc..... but those are usually well understood by other "dialects" of French.
I'm Dutch. So if I were contacted for translations I could do NL_nl.
Hi, I can translate to Arabic. I previously translated an app "Tic Tac Toe" to arabic, and everything went perfectly.
