Hey guys.
I Tried searching for the problem but I wasn't sure what terms to look under so read some threads on general Opera issues but i couldnt find the answer to my problem.
I hope you can help.
I've just installed opera 8.65 and when it loads. i'm missing some parts of the bottom menu bar. I've attached a pic to better explain things. I'm not 100% sure if that is the way its supposed to be or if its Opera or WM6 to blame. I've soft resetted after installing also.
Thankyou.
I'm using Dutty's wm6.1 build 19700 if that helps.
All Sorted now. Been flicking through the forum for possible fixes but couldnt find anything so I began fiddling about with the setting and still no luck. I decided to uninstall and download the .cab file again from opera and low and behold, its all fine now. I have the full menu bar.

No this actually happens because of Opera 9.5.

Really????? any fix???
Umm I don't recall. I read somewhere that a guy had to write a script to change the Reg Keys back every time he shut down Opera.
Otherwise you would just need to uninstall Opera, for now.
I can't seem to find the thread I saw this in though.

No. But remember that even if it's a pretty serious problem this release is a BETA, which is by design not meant to be used in everyday life but only for volunteer users to find/report issues.
If you want bug-free software, either use an earlier stable version or wait for the final product
Other than that yes, a temporary manual fix is to set your notifications as you want them, export the related registry key to a file with a reg editor, and import it again everytime you exit opera to restore the settings. There are more details on the Opera Mobile forum.
Opera 9.5 beta 1 is the prob, until next beta is out, the temporary solution that works 100% is here:

Please don't flame. I have searched for an hour, and cannot find the correct search strings to give me my solution. I know it is here....oh where oh where has my little fix gone.....
When using opera 9.5, the screen sometimes stays stuck in landscape mode. Please point a brother....
Pine
PS: tried opera landscape fix, opera screen rotate, opera 9.5 problem and several more..

Naw, I swear I saw a fix...perhaps in a ROM thread. But be damned if I can find it again. Maybe someone will run across this thread and show the way to the solution.

I've seen the keyboard popping up fix but not the other fix...i would be interested too
I don't ever remember seeing a fix for this...maybe I missed it though.

this is not a fix but you could go into settings>system>screen>portrait instead of soft reset each time.
Yes fjc3, this is what I have been doing...except HTC home has a shortcut in the frequent programs tab (4th tab).
Still a little frustrating, especially if you flip open your slider every time you want to input text. I prefer to browse with it closed.
Goes landscape then fails to return to portrait
Running 6.1 as of last night. Open keyboard, goes to landscape properly but then screen fonts and HTC new default with HTC Home gets 'bigger' so that I can't see the entire screen. If I un-check HTC Home on the Today screen, open Today and then re-check HTC Home, it comes back correctly.
Any clues??
Had the same problem with Opera 9.5 tried a few different versions and got this one to work OBX-Opera_9[1].5.Build1957.WWE
If you go to this post download the Extended Cabs RAR file and unzip the cab is in there.

I've had the same problem with just about every opera released on this forum. I tried the beta 2 from the opera website and it did not have the screen rotation problems on exit. Problem was, it didn't have many of the features from the later versions.
Download the latest version from www.opera.com. The latest build for beta 2 posted on their website without the screen rotation bug is 9.51 beta build 2723
Hi. This has probably been said somewhere, but I can't find it...
I called Telus (Canada) and they told me, believe it or not, I was the first to complain about this, yet they tried it on several units themselves and they all did it:
When I try to rotate the phone in Opera, unless I am EXACTLY perpendicular to the ground, it will crash and boot me out of Opera - minimize it that is. I updated the phone with the G-Sensor app to make it better, but it didn't help.
Is this something we know how to fix by any chance??
Thanks

Opera issue...
Try updating to a newer version of Opera. There are a number of different versions in this forum, one of them should solve the issue... search away
opera
the landscape mode is bugged, say's so on the opera website.
If you download the latest beta for touchscreens, the documentatoin states that landscape has been disabled. get it anyway, its way fast and shares bandwidth with wifi
Sweet, thanks guys!
Don't know what telus did, but the rom update also fixed this problem. Opera no longer crashes when switching.
Not sure if I'm in the right forum for this. I was wondering if my 6.1 software will work on my Touch Pro with a 6.5 ROM. I've had some problems with TFDetacher so I lost it and a slight problem with WKTask, though it's functional and it's only an aesthetic problem. Was wondering if anyone knows about this or if you can post any program you've found that doesn't work. Maybe make a list. Searched but found nothing on this. Thanks for any info.

I havent faced any problems with any programs till now. I would say go ahead and install the apps and if there is any issue check the forums or raise a question. But i think you should be fine.
I know WKTask (or one of the task managers) has issues with WM6.5.
I've installed all of the same programs I used on WM6.1 and haven't had a problem with any of them.
Some apps don't use the WM6.5 native scrolling, so if something requires TouchFlo to scroll, the scrolling might not work, but the app should still work.
Trial and error it is. I've had some problems with WKTask, too. Black box in the upper right hand corner and I think it was causing my start menu not work. This thread can be closed. Thanks for the info.
Hey, I am new to flashing, so I am not fully up to date on every aspect, so sorry if this has been answered.
I recently flashed to itje's v12 Touchit rom, and i would rather have hardware keyboard than push support for the Opera Browser.
Would anyone be able to tell me how to get this? Do i just get the standard Opera Mobile cab from one of the threads and install it? Do i need to uninstall the one i have now first or will it just "update" it?
Or other options could be a registry fix? or does 9.7 beta work? Sorry i have been searching a long time and can't seem to find the answer.
thank you
in 9.7 it worx for me
u can have the versions both on ur device
9.7 Works just fine
Thank you for the responses Just installed 9.7 beta, will see how that goes!
edit: Just installed it, 9.7b works perfectly. But i would rather have the globe launch this one rather than the old one. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction of getting this to work. I can't seem to uninstall the one that came with it, it just isn't in the list. I have also read that you go to application data/manila and change a reg in there to change the default, but first of all i don't seem to have the key and second what is the exe name for the beta?
Thanks!
