I'm looking for some GPS software with turn based route planning for use mainly in Cyprus, but also in the UK.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks,
Mark.
Yes two for Cyprus
Destinator 7 and Pocket navigator 7.
Research them here and elsewhere.
Dears,
i am using software IGO My way 2006 but i don't have Dubai map, can anyone help me to get it or if there is another software with Dubai map to be installed as i am going to dubai soon and i need the map to be with me ti be able to navigate.
Thanks
AFAIK, only garmin has the Middle East maps. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=138&pID=11413 SKU: 010-11034-21
Do you have a full version of the software
You can get the full version at the link provided.
I know you're not asking for a "Free" copy as this forum doesn't allow WAREZ!
Trust me, I have been in Dubai, unless you want to drive around in 6 hours every day trying to find your hotel, you better get a GPS map, or your trip will be wasted. You might want to try the TomTom maps, they should also have a map for Dubai I think

Hi all
i need a gps application for my omnia II, so i can get speed, position with out using maps (no need to using GPRS), because i search on my phone and don't get any application, in past I have Nokia N82 that has a GPS data that you can get position and save it and speed and distance trip
Thanks
Install Garmin Mobile XT.. you don't need to have GPRS connection to use it.. it directly connects to satelite..
Omnia i8000 has no GPS software provided by Samsung..
thanks for answer but Garmin Mobile XT free or not because in my country can not pay by visa or any other way
you also can use nonigpsplot
you will find it easely with google.
English version is available
I second the Garmin XT. Fantastic program. But yes it costs about 70 bucks.
If you get your Omnia II from Singapore, there's a GPS app provided in the microSD that comes with the phone. Omnia II doesn't come with one pre-installed by itself, however.
google maps 4.0 on my i920 works ridiculously well. i get satellite lock indoors in under one minute.

Not free BUT... If you really like to have all the stats from your trip. Wait til Run.GSP is stable on the i8000, its working on my i8000 but only on fresh memory (as in a soft reset) otherwise it doesnt load. You can download free maps from opensource maps or just not have maps at all. I record my bike ride to work and it tellls where i paused, how long, total distance, a lot of stats.
Trackypro is pretty good too. but both are not free.
Same as levytv I have googlemaps 4 on my i920 and it is free. Locks onto the satilite in under a minute to within 10to 20 meters and that is in the house. You can also go to freewarepocketpc.net, they have a large selection of free gpps apps.
look for gps dashboard.
pretty small, free, and do just wath you wanna.

gps on omnia II
well i have used both garmin xt and igo8 on my omnia II both are doing well and satellite connection is pretty fast than on my omnia i900. however, i prefer igo 8 than garmin xt maybe because i was using igo8 for the past 2 years with my i900. i prefer the features in igo 8 than garmin. only one problem though with igo8, the screen in landscape mode doens't fill the screen of my omnia II. i am using a different version on omnia II because the older version doesn't support higher resolution screens.
I use Garmin XT too, when it comes to Windows Mobile, there is almost always a way around paying for the software, Google enough and you'll find
In internet enabled apps, Google maps works best. Fixes are almost instant. For offline maps, Garmin Mobile XT works wonderfully well, atleast in my country, India.
Cheers!

My phone I bought used had Singapore and West Malaysia maps on it on the Samsung 1 gb sd card. Can Magellan map files work with that app? (the one that comes with Singapore phones) What carrier are they from? (for unlock purposes).
I'm still waiting for the battery or I'd know more...
thanks for the suggestion man !!
Superb Thread
Short+Sweet+Informative, this should be a GPS sticky, in my humble opinion.
I'm using CoPilot live v8 .
It's working very well with my Omnia II .
It was on promotion at 20$ with North America maps during the last Christmas.

Hi ayongkot,
I'm trying to load igo8 on my omnia II but it starts in landscape mode (only half of the screen is visible) and it stops working shortly after starting. I think this is because of the resolution. Which version of igo8 you are using? Can you load it somewhere and share the link, or point me to a thread which has the links?
Thx
