You should post this in the Diamond Forum it might get a better response
i work for telus and our htc rep told us that the planed launch date is august 14th. the look is a bit different and the battery has grown to 1440 mAh
my question to all of you xda pros is this: will the current roms and apps work for the cdma device just as they do for the gsm version.
i can't wait to start flashing and find out for myself
Apparently the Telus version also has more RAM (256 instead of 192). So between the and it being CDMA I am also really interested if the current ROMs will be compatible.
sure its the diamond and not the pro?
I've seen a couple reports, like the one here that list the Telus verion as having expanded RAM. They may or may not still be accurate, but most of them reference Telus press releases.
Here you go here are the specs for the TELUS CDMA:

When we told you that the CDMA Diamond was going to hit Telus in Canada, our greatest fear is that it would drop WiFi support like the original Touch did. Glory be, that's not the case, WiFi stays. Telus has finally posted up the specs on the their version of the Touch Diamond and we are well pleased:
101mm x 51mm x 14mm
EVDO Rev A
WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0
Qualcomm MSM 7510A Processor running at 528MHz
256 ROM, 256 RAM, 4 Gigs internal (no expansion)
Includes Telus Navigator software and Opera 9.5 for the broswer
Camera is still 3.2mp, screen is still 640x480
The battery gets a big bump: it's 1340 mAh
All in all, the processor and RAM look like they're hefty enough to handle TouchFLO 3D, EVDO REV A + WiFi look like this thing will be speedtastic, and the battery is big enough to handle it all. Sprint, Verizon: get this on your network ASAP. Telus: ditto.
To whom it may concern....
Touch Diamond is coming to Sprint this month

Hey guys,
I just have a quick question. I've been looking for a while as I'm moving to the US in the next few months. I have the HTC Touch right now with Telus in Canada and we just got the HTC Diamond BUT as I'm moving down south I didnt upgrade. I'm wondering what carriers have or WILL have the HTC Diamond or even better the Touch Pro by Christmas time.
Does anyone know?
Thanks!
Aaron
Sprint is getting the CDMA Diamond here in a few weeks (Sept 14th is the release) and the Pro is supposed to follow roughly one month later.
I have not heard any definite plans for AT&T or T-Mobile regarding the Diamond, but a user on this forum has a pre-release of the Pro from AT&T.
