Hi,
Im having troubels with the landscape mode in the browser. Its very hard to get it into landscape mode, I need to do a hard flick to get it turned but it will jump back to normal with only very little movement. When in the camera menu its not a problem at all and it switches very fast and accurate. Is there some way to fix this?
And on a little side note, is landscape mode also supported in remote desktop for WM?
I can confirm that RDP does not work in landscape mode.

playing teeter calibrates the accelerometer??? I don't think so.
Opera gets fairly fast into landscape on my phone... And quite naturally, as I turn the phone.
try playing teeter and seeing if the accelerometer is working fine... if its not id take it back and get a replacement.

Hello,
My arrow keys are mapped wrong. I'm running the latest PDACORNERULTIMATE v20. I've used the tilt keyboard fix cab file. The thing is, they work fine when texting or something. However, when I go to play a game, whether its tomb raider, wolfenstein, morphgear, any game that uses the arrows, they're mapped in the wrong position. left goes up, right goes down, up goes right, down goes left.
Sorry for posting this if it's a common fixable problem. I've looked for a long time now for a solution and haven't found anything. Maybe I'm just looking for the wrong problem description.
Thank you.
i dont think its an issue with the key mapping.
i think its from the switching of the screen orientation from portrait to landscape.........cause when u switch the orentation, up/down becomes left/right. what i do with morphgear is, i slide out the keyboard first (to switch the orientation), then i start morphgear
wolfenstein 3d
Thanks, I'm an idiot, that was it.
Though Wolfenstein 3d starts out in portrait mode even if you go to landscape before loading it. Has anyone found a fix around this? I tried switching back and forth midgame, but it didn't seem to recognize it and it stayed in portrait mode.
since a few days whenever i switch to landscape mode all running applications are minimized, and i get thrown back to HTC's touchflo screen which reverts my orientation back to portrait mode.
only thing i can remember i installed besides a few games is S2U2, however disabling that didn't help either.
this occurs with all apps that don't have native Gsensor-based orientation switching regardless what i use to switch to landscape(happens with both the Gsen app, and when using the windows mobile screen setting)
the exact phone i use is a T-mobile MDA compact IV(operator branded version of touch diamond) with latest rom provided by T-mobile(1.93 i think)
this is quite a problem for me because i got some apps and games that just don't work comfortably in landscape mode.
EDIT: turns out it was just one of windows mobile's random glitchups.
a soft-reset fixed it.
Is there a way to force the phone to always be in landscape mode? I use my phone as GPS on my motorcycle (KLR650) and have it attached the the handlebars sideways. This works out great except whenever I turn or hit a bump the phone goes from landscape to portrait mode several times which lags out my GPS application and causes it to quit logging my route... This is especially when I am off-roading and NEED to keep track of my route in case I need to turn around and make my way back out.
Possible solutions might be:
-Tricking the phone into thinking it is open all the time...
-Editing the parameters on the accelerometers to think the phone is always on its side...
I don't know how to do either... I've looked for apps but I can't find any.

PM Loccy, the guy who does the better browser, and ask him if there is a way to lock the phone into landscape, because he has a setting for the browser to always be locked into landscape.
So I managed to drop my phone the other day. I've noticed that since the drop it wont rotate to portrait mode. I'm 99.9% positive that it is a hardware problem. If I hold the phone upright and open the keyboard about 1/4th of an inch it will rotate. So I'm guessing that its a problem within.
So now for the question. On CM5.0.8T4 Is there a way to disable the rotation when the keyboard is out? Basically giving the accelerometer full control of orientation.
Sorry if this is in another place, I've been searching for days now and haven't found any solution.
Thanks.
Anyone? I'm interested in this as well...
Perhaps this is just a useability thing but I often have my phone sat flat on my desk. From the home page I launch an app (Messaging, Market etc.) without picking the phone up and the app opens in Landscape mode.
I think I worked out what makes this happen:
If I have the phone in my hand (portrait) showing the home screen (which does not rotate) with nothing running in the background and put it down on my desk as I put it down I have actually tilted it so if an auto-rotate app was running it would have gone to landscape. It is as if the accelerometer has sensed the phone in landscape mode and remembered this so next time I launch an app without picking the phone up it starts in landscape. I proved this by holding the phone (portrait) on the home page and putting it down on my desk carefully so it was only tilting in a portrait orientation, then stated a program and it started in portrait.
OK, this is probably considered normal operation but the way I use my phone it's really annoying.
I don't know about anyone else but when I put my phone on the desk I nearly always lay it down long edge first - which puts the accelerometer into landscape mode, causing the "problem".
What would be nice is an app that let you choose the default orientation programs/apps start up in but ONLY if the phone is flat. Hmmm I'd buy it!
EDIT: Or just an app that resets the accelerometer to your preference of landscape or portrait after the screen locks or unlocks and the phone is horizontal
Mark.
