Best WM6.1 ROM WITH TOUCH-FLO. - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

Hey, i have a himalaya with WM2003 and I want to update but I would like to have touch flo. Which rom do you recommend me?
Thanks

Hi Humano, welcome to the thread.
I am not sure if any of the roms come with TouchFlo already installed, though you can certainly download it separately from the forum and install it on whichever ROM you like.
Choosing which ROM you like us up to your research and taste, I currently use C_Shekhar's WM6.1 ROM on my device, as it is very stable and very fast, with a few extras thrown in.
However, all the ROMs have good feedback, so research what you want.

List's everything that's in it...
What do different ROM's do?
Tom
Different ROM's can do a million different things.
It all depends on what the creator put in them. Dutty's ROM is probably the most popular at the minute, because it contains all the software people are after.
Remember, a ROM is basically the OS with a collection of Software in it. In Dutty's case, it's also got a number of registry tweaks which improve performance.

There's now "best" ROM to install. Each ROM has their advantages based on what the person making it wants. Dutty's ROMs are pretty good - he has lite ROMs and full blown ROMs and ROMs with the touchflo/cube. There are other ROMs : Alex's, Quentin, CUSTEL, etc.
Read about each ROM to see if they include what you want and try it out. You will have to make the decision on which ROM is best for you. If you want to make your own try using Alex's ROM Kitchen (link in my sig).
Good luck.

[REQUEST] I ask all cookers to share lite/Xtralite Version WM6.1&WM6.5

Please Please Please,
After the Onkolog's departure, I don't find light or xtralight rom on xda. I think that some people are interested in this study. I ask the cookers to share light version of your ROM (WM6.1 or WM6.5) (without the program) and customizable.
Thank you all for your excellent work.

I have changed the title of your thread as its misleading to tothers. You only put [ROM][Light] if you are providing a lite rom. Your thread is a request, so should only state [REQUEST]
Rick
I look forward to this as well
I think I might be able to help in this case.
Would it be a totally naked version of WM or with some apps included? Im thinking about doing one without any application, just windows..
I would want JUST windows releases as well... For creating a manilla like total replacement program.

Ok can do a windows-only release.
Also, take a look here in the wiki for list of most/all roms (still being developed through this thread). It lists a lot of lite roms which may be useful
Rick
Uploading a ultralite version of the WM6.5 21869 build. Has NOTHING, no APPS included at all
EDIT: Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?3myfmzemhjd
u heard of vanilla??? from kwbr only barebone bits included someone described it as DAMN SMALL WINDOWS in comparison to damn small linux lol.
have a look on the link
http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=675&highlight=vanilla
heres kwbrs roms on celogeek not sure which one it is there though.

try it out, why are you interested in the light roms?
@polarrys Nice thread. For WM6.1 you can use Onkologs 21xxx versions. They were the last builds. But more interesting are WM6.5 builds over 23016 with native WM6.5 core. Hope also there'll be some alternatives to Onkologs Lite Roms. Less is sometimes more.
Bump!
I'd certainly be interested!
The versatility of a Lite/Super Lite ROMs I feel makes it appealing to a wider target audience for the simple reason of personal customization.
I can freely admit that I’m still using Onkolog’s WWE WM6.1 21051 1.6.4 Lite ROM which was posted all the way back in June. Very stable, very clean, very fast.
I would also like a "Windows only" ROM. Since most apps are available as cabs it would be possible to have ONLY the apps you need installed.
Any Clean Windows Chefs out there ?

Check my post earlier on...
This is a great idea but is it possible to install the latest version of Manila as a .cab onto an ultralite ROM?
Edit: I checked other parts of the forum and now realise this is not possible, as Manila is too deeply integrated with Windows to make it a standalone installer.

Not exactly what I (we?) am looking for... This is not "no APPS included at all". Maybe from a ROM-cook point of view as in nothing has been added. But from my point of view.. This contains:
Office
Internet Sharing,
Games
MSN Money
Windows Live
etc.
Personally I'm looking for a rom, with only the bear necessities (of life? ) (which means: Windows, File Explorer, stuff like that)
But thanks for giving us a light ROM though
Cheers,
Lennard
Ok give me a list of what you want removed and I will cook it for you.

Xperia X1 - WM6.5 Pure, Clean only WM6.5 ROM

Hello,
I'm looking for latest ROM (Ex. Build 23542) but I don't want any addins or customiztions like HTC, TF3D etc. etc...
I see people regulary post roms, and they mark it as "pure, clean etc." but in real there are always customizations and they are not clean at all..
How does this system work? Where do they find the initial state of the ROM and they add their customizations?
I want the initial state only but the latest rom to flash with storage card method?
Thanks,
Tarik
Try this: http://wcxxperia-nce.com/
I'm using WildChilds pure WM6.5 rom for a month and I'm very happy with it. Great battery and ram performance and you can install what you want on a clean fast rom.
Just register and have fun.

The two I've found most stable are Christian's ROM and gtrab's PURE Series ROM
Really not worth a whole new thread on this! Nearly every week someone asks what the best clean 6.5 ROM is... its largely subjective. Some people prefer one cooked ROM, other will swear by another.
The only way to really know is to look at the available ROMs and try them out.
Once the X2 is released and the chefs manage to get a download of the released ROM that will probably yield the best ongoing solution... but for now, experiment!

i just have one doubt...a ROM is the OS rite??
See, even Touch HD 2(or anyother phone) has WinMO 6.5
BUT HOW do we know what interface it has?? As in even a Touch HD has 6.5 and so does X2..but i wil obviously wont flash my X1 with a Touch HD ROM...??
So how can we decide what ROM is or for what phone????
PS: Im stil looking for a X2 ROM...and as someone mentioned above, till it isnt released, we can get a hold on to it..so i guess i am gonna wait..hehe
CIRCLEOFMEGA: once u read the chef's description of the rom, you will know the interface, this is why many people here say read read read
and only the roms for the x1 will be in the x1 rom forum, so i insist, read read read

Hello all,
I due to take delivery of my Blackstone tomorrow which I am assuming will have Orange firmware on it. I don't want my initial impression of the Blackstone to be tarnished so will want to get rid off it.
Can you guys point me toward a fast and more importantly stable 6.1 rom with manila 2.1.
Thanks in advance...

All the latest wm6.1 manila 2.1 roms would be fast and stable with little or no bugs. I suggest you try some of the latest roms created by the most used chefs including Miri, PhamQuang, NRG, Throy, Laurentius etc. All of these chefs have produced fast reliable wm6.1 manila 2.1 roms. You could also check out this thread on benchmarks, which is good starting point for comparing roms. All available roms can be downloaded either in the rom development forum, in the wiki here or HTCPedia

i just ordered this phone QUESTIONS

and im totally helpless, there's so much to install and things you can do with this mobile. i ordered a used one, wich already got flashed with another rom and stuff. is this bad? can i recover the original files? is it a good choice to do so, if its possible?
whats the "best" and by that i mean the best working firmware for this mobile?
or the most up to date?
why sould i use the android system if i could use the htc one?
pros/cons?
i have absolutly no idea whats good and whats not.
are there any comparsions online, any newbie threads to read?
there are so many tweaks and roms and fixxed and all the stuff i have no odea what its for.
can anyone help me?
Well, you cant go wrong with the official Sony Ericsson rom which came with the phone R3A is the latest one. But if you want Windows Mobile 6.5 then flash a custom rom, there are many to choose from in the custom rom section. I cant comment on android on the device because i havent tried it but i'm sure there are a few issues and bugs.
Personally i tried many custom roms but all of them had mini problems which made them bad so the one that worked best for me was the stock one which you can find in the rom section also
I would flash the May 6 ROM from Williyung as a good starting point. It's a completely stable and bug-less 6.5.5 ROM, about as updates as you can get.
826x.blogspot.com
Scroll down to the May 6 ROM
thank you both for the very useful answers.
i think ill wait until i can see the official one,
and after that ill choose if i stay with the regular one or the Williyung version.

What you're going to want to do if you want a STABLE device (free of eye candy) is make sure and stay with a 6.1 rom (official or otherwise).
6.5 has no real advantages that SPB Mobile Shell cant add while keeping your device stable.
(that being said I'm currently running an Energy Rom with 6.5)
826x clean 6.5.5 ROMs by Williyung are 100% stable. I have NEVER had to reset. There are bugless.
