I've searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer to this question.
I find it annoying that start menu's programs panel stays open after launching a program. After I exit the program I'm back to the programs panel instead of the today screen.
Is there a program that stays in the background and kills Programs panel after a program is launched?

Hey guys. I've got Ultimate Launch and I want to be able to see what programs are running on the today screen. Maybe an icon row at the bottom. ANy ideas?

try spb ilauncher. do a search on it.
Wisebar Advanced will show you what programs are running in the top bar of the today screen. Check it out HERE.
Magic Button is on title bar but does not cover any standard info. Only 80 KB executable file. Makes close button really close applications. Can be found here :

doesnt regular taskmanager that comes with tilt show you what applications are running..and you can close them...why use another one?
wktask is a my favourite.
You can alter the size of the tabs, hide system applications and LOADS of other options. Oh and it's free. It is one of the most reliable and light applications of this type and is cooked into a lot of XDA dev ROMs. Get the latest version HERE
I'm looking for a task manager that I can launch with a hard button with the help of AEButton,
in which I can scroll though my open programs using the scroller not the touch screen and close each in turn or close all.
I've tried a lot and they all either;
- They dont have the facility to use the buttons as a scroller, touch only.
- They cant be launched to open using a hardware button, as in the program launches but all I get is the little cross, dot button appear in the top right of my today screen, not actually open the task manager.
- Or they dont have the facility to close all apps.
there must be a simple little program that does this, and im starting to feel like i've tried them all...
I can distantly remember using a version on RomEOS 1.2.1 but cant find any reference to it, it allowied me to 'check' each program and close them, and launched as an actual program, rather than enabling a cross on my today screen. And it wasn;t HTC Taskmanager.
Any suggestions you lovely people? I think one handed PPC use is they way to go and this is frustraiting me.
Install SPB Pocket Plus
Soft reset
Go to Settings-Buttons
Assign "Alt-Tab" on any button you want.
Press button, see all open prg's and scroll with the wheel to the one you want, press wheel and you are there.
Hi,
ever tried WkTask (freeware) ?
Quickmenu does the trick for me. Much better than WKTask. Also freeware. X button closes the app, gives a PC feel to menus and you don't ever have to use stylus.
Thanks for the replies
tried both WKTask and Quickmenu, but evenually settles on HandySwitcher, turned out to be a bonus that you can customise the colours, since i have a white background and couldn't read the white text on the menu.
Success!
Why wouldn't you use the task switching part of phoneAlarm?
You can set the default function to the switcher and be managing open tesks with 2 button pushes.
I second Quickmenu. Once you click the exe once it'll auto start after soft resets. Goto the settings and customize the startmenu the way you want. I set mine up to have Running programs first and that set to be shown as submenu and then it allows you the close one or close all feature, quickmenu popout second, then a break and then program, settings, and office folders all set to submenus and then my regular programs as links below. I can control it all with my finger or with the jog dial. Retains your windows TSK theme and if you set it to replace windows start menu it is like the other never existed. Excellent program and very lightweight. To fix the text issue I use UI Tweaker. Also helps me match the color to my TSK better. Just my personal preference.
Somehow I have managed to get rid of the Task manager icon on the upper right corner Cant get it back Can anyone help Was quite handy in closing applications
What ROM do u use ?
If u're using ROMeOSĀ² v1.40.1, u can find task manager here.
(In applications list)
Well I have standard issue english version. What is strange that before it was there and even when restarting then during touch flo startup I have the icon in the upper corner but then it just vanishes Thou have now used wk task and that works quite well also. Maybe it has something to do with the vertical scrollbar that I made wider. Thou why I can not see taskmanager in Home screen where there is now scrollbar.

Click to collapse
Happens to me all the time... here is how to fix it.
Start->settings->task manager.
Buttons Tab at bottom.
Put a check mark in "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen"
Thanks but unfortunately I have this checked and still no taskmanager on the corner. I have now got used to the Wk tasks that works quite fine but the solution intrests me principally. Why is it missing. Also on the home screen earlier the calendar showed upcoming appointments but not any more even I have somewhere checked the buttons for upcoming and so on appointments.
Strange Seems that I have messed up somewhere.
Do you by any chance use SPB Pocket Plus?
Dont know but at least dont remember seeing any program under that name SPB pocket plus.
same problem with task manager shortcut button
i have the same problem - basically i was messing around between the SE panels and SPB Home, finally settled for SPB home, but the task manager button doesn't appear despite checking the box in task manager settings.
i'm using the xperia x1, haven't messed with the winMo6.1 installation other than installing/uninstalling R3A panel manager and SPB home (and finally installing SPB home).
This is the Raphael aka HTC Touch Pro aka Fuze forums, not the Xperia X1.
Post this topic at the Xperia forum.
Is there any software that can map panel button to function similar than alt+tab on pc?
Sometimes when i have lots of apps open in background it would be nice to quickly switch with few taps of a button.
HTC task manager is ok for closing apps, but not for quickly switching because its sometimes taking ages for menu to appear.
Hi,
A lot of the time I switch between applications, but I have 2 with which I can't seem to do this. Worst of all run.gps (I really would like to be able to get to my pocketplayer to change station/playlist/number...), but I see the same behavior when running iGo8.
I have spb mobile shell and a shortcut to the task manager in home screen, this is how I switch between programs, pressing the home button, opening task manager, clicking the program I want on foreground.
When I have run.gps (or iGo8, same thing) open and press the home button, it seems to want to go to the home screen, the start button and upper bar appear for a moment, but it jumps back to run.gps (or iGo8) on the foreground.
Any ideas on why this happens? Somewhere a registry edit or something to change this behavior?
TIA
I'm having the same problem with iGo. I'd also love to know if there was some way to get around this....
Could be interesting to know what ROM and iGO versions you are running!
I can switch between apps with iGO or google maps open as long as I don't try to use Opera10 which refuses to start OR is getting closed if I have it open and start iGO.
hi,
try to click minimize instead of exit (beside exit key on touch screen)
best regards
