AFAIK, only garmin has the Middle East maps. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=138&pID=11413 SKU: 010-11034-21
Do you have a full version of the software
You can get the full version at the link provided.
I know you're not asking for a "Free" copy as this forum doesn't allow WAREZ!
Trust me, I have been in Dubai, unless you want to drive around in 6 hours every day trying to find your hotel, you better get a GPS map, or your trip will be wasted. You might want to try the TomTom maps, they should also have a map for Dubai I think

Dear all,
Hope to get help from you guys...how to use GPS in HTC Tytn / tilt? i bought it from US and use in Malaysia. But somehow cannot manage to find how to use GPS as i'm a newbie in this. currently my HTC Tytn / tilt doesn't have built in GPS device as said. But i have heard that GPS could be use without any devices??? Thx alot for information!!!
You just bought a tilt but it doesn't have built in gps?? You sure you bought a tilt? Every tilt or kaiser has built in gps. Try google maps mobile for starters to get your feet wet with gps. http://www.google.com/mobile/default/maps/index.html
The AT&T Tilt / Kaiser has built-in GPS. I think your question is more towards what GPS software to use because most standard ROMs for Kaiser don't have any GPS Mapping software built-in.
You'll have to install a GPS Mapping software and maps to make use of the GPS hardware.
Since you're in Malaysia, the 2 most popular GPS software for that area is Garmin MobileXT and MapKing G10 / 2007.
To find out more about these software and get the free Malaysia maps, please go to www.malsingmaps.com
ok ok...i'll try and see whether it works or not. But why there is an external GPS slot behind my HTC Tytn if it's built in????? i really do not understand. i have read the specification of the phone and it does not stated that GPS is already built in. but anyway thanks guys..i'll try.
like this?
http://pocketables.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/01/28/noreve_tilt_fit7.jpg
that's only a connector for an external gps antenna, not gps device
Anyone has tried TomTom Navigator with the raphael?
How did u success?
I've installed it once, but had some problems that made it kinda useless, very bad gps lag and the signal level indicator was missing (IE. saying no signal).
EDIT: First post in this area, yay
TomTom installed just fine and worked fine yesterday, but now it can't find any satelite signals. I had the same problem on the Tilt. Guess I am giving up on TomTom.

HTC TP TomTom works just fine
Hi
Yes I'm using TomTom almost every day to/from work and it works just fine. TomTom had a major update a few weeks ago and after the update it works perfect. I bought the map-version on their website and had some struggle to install it on my phone, but after activate my SD-micro card like TomTom explained on their support site, it works just fine. It has fix on at least 5 satellites in less than 30 sec every time. But it's important to have a radio that gives you that the possibilities to have just that. There is good information to find the best radio in Raphael WiKi forum. TomTom has included traffic information as well, so I use any suggestion in order to avoid blocked streets.
Sincerely
Morten from Oslo, Norway

What version is it? I'm still using one the binary I found here in the forums as I thought there wasn't an official one working yet. (i.e. you have to use application binaries from phones with it preinstalled.)
Mine works fine as well though, but it's always nice to go "official" when you have bought the maps anyway....

After I added the tweaks for TT (mentioned on XDA) TT works much better. Better responce and accuracy. (on MDA Compact IV original T-mobile NL rom)

Mind to show us the way to that tweak? Mine TT7 on my CDMA TP works just fine (it finds satellite quite quickly) but there is some noticible lags.

I ment this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427888
Thanks GVR! Seems like that solved the lagging problem on my CDMA TP! Now TT7 is much faster in terms of updating my location.
And that was my only issue with the GPS here, I was able to get a fix with 9 satellites INSIDE a highrise in downtown in less then 5 seconds.
Awesome! I'm going to save that and hope someone can create a cab for those edits.
Hi guys
I have recently purchased HTC Touch PRO (Raphael) and tried to install TomTom Navigator 7.450 (9028) for Windows Mobile with Tomtom Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_810_1940 but can not do it.
I mean I have installed TOMTOM all fine but it shows me that maps are not supported by this device
Can some one help me and point me in the right direction on how to install these maps ?
Cheers and many thanks

After a major update true TomTom Home 2.4 I've got version 7.910 (9185). That is the official version and I'm using maps for western and central Europe bought from TomTom. I started with the TomTom CAB application found here in the forum, since there wasn't any to download. But last week the program (CAB) in my HTC TP was updated automatically using Home 2.4. Even my maps are now automatically update once TomTom relizes updates.
I have a signed CAB version in my PC and HTC TP from TomTom now, that came with the update, but I do not know if it can be used by others. Maybe it is signed to be used only with my TomTom maps?
The CAB file is named navcore_7.910.9185_TT_SIGNED.htc_raphael.CAB
I will not upload anything until someone tells me wheter I am aloud to do so and that it will not be a violation in this forum.

Im afraid to say you will not get much help because these are maps that werent purchased or obtained legally, hence it falls under the Warez category. I kindly advice you to stop asking instead before you get banned. Have a nice day
I installed TT7 and ran a test 2 days ago. The result was GPS show me 500 ft ahead
Can I please get a link to this program?
Link to TT7
you can find it in this forum

I think it's Xtreme XL post.
FYI ... TT7 is backward compatible with the 6.75 maps.
Hi, I wasted an entire weekend trying to get TT VERSION 7 to work. I have downloaded TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-vga-black and I have a Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map.
After installation, TT goes through the process of choosing lang, speaker etc.It then asks me to download a free map, Southern Africa is not located in the list.
Can somebody please please assist and tell me what I am doing wrong and How can I activate the Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map.
Is there a way where I can just use the Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map and not download any others? Another issue, How do I activate my GPS unit?
Thanks in advance

you have to place your Southern Afrika map in the folder My Documents @ your memory card, otherwise Tomtom will not see the the map
Hi all... Just wondering if there was a way to get a gps program that stores the maps on my phone, so it doesnt have to keep downloading them off the phone internet... (oh, for australian maps too...)
many applications exist: tomtom, garmin, igo... most of them are for-pay of course
Try TomTom

I bought this hd7 a week ago from ebay seller. It is a t-mobile unlocked device.
My location services are turned on , but whenever i goto bing maps and search for my location, it keeps on searching but never shows me my location.
I have already done with following solutions i got from internet and htc call center.
1) Already flashed htc asia rom
2) Tried to search without sim card inserted
3)Tried to find my location in open skies
4)already turned on the location services
5)when i try other gps app like gmaps, it searches and gives error "The GPS data isn't available now". My 3g is also on, so there is no problem of downloading the maps.
I want to tell that i live in india, and i am using hotmail account with country : United states in order to use marketplace on my phone.
So, considering all above things, What could be the problem?

hi,
Download an app in the market place named GPS (its free).. And run it.. it initializes the GPS signal.
I am using the HD7 T9292 T-mobile unlocked at Vietnam and i am doing fine with TA Maps, Bingle Maps, even Bing Maps works fine without info about roads at Vietnam .
Try to flash back to T-mobile 7004 rom and then get the update
By the way, you can unlock the phone after you flash back to 7004, and then search for the HTC GPS Test Tool Xap somewhere in xda forum to test your GPS.

same problem
Hello,
Was there a solution found for this problem. I am having the same problem on a brand new unlocked HD7 that I bought. Any solution would be very much appreciated
I'm not sure if this helps, but I had some issues with GPS on my HD7S (AT&T) and I calibrated the compass. It made a huge difference.
I would occasionally get the no data when trying to use GPS. I haven't had a problem since.
It usually takes some time for the GPS to start working, sometimes I need to use the GPS with a clear sky (no buildings around) to make it work properly.
Yea , I have the same problem
I am also outside US , with a T-Mobile HD7 (Egypt) ,also have the settings USA for Marketplace.
I managed to get A-GPS to work though , I'm not sure what I really did , but I think I installed the HTC Compass app , that made things work I guess
But A-GPS is totally inaccurate , hundreds of meters of error-margin !
If anyone had anyluck with that , please tell us
UPDATE: The above method made my GPS working , the problem was in the area I was trying the GPS in. once I got out of the buildings area , the GPS recieved the data nicely (not 100% uptime , but at down times it switches to A-GPS)
To find out in which GPS mode are you in ( full or A-GPS ) you will need to download a free tool called "GPSInfo" from the marketplace
The HD7 gps just seems to suck, or maybe we have bad luck.
Mine takes forever to search, and when it does search it is WAAAY OFF.
hopefully mango can fix my problems
Ok i'll jump on the band wagon.... I've had this issue forever really. The gps is a few blocks off in certain areas. In my house it was pretty decent one day (I was shocked!!) but normally it's off from day to day. It could be 3 blocks, 2 blocks... Right now in Manhattan, it's showing me 4 blocks off from where I am. I honestly just don't get it. Is it the hardware? Tried the compass, tried the GPS app.
Honestly, I just feel something has to be reset in the system
Ok weird. I figured out my problem. When I'm connected to WiFi and try to use the GPS its off by a few blocks. It jumps between two spots and never gets the right location. WiFi off and it pin points it exactly.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
THE SOULTION IS SIMPLE IF GPS ON YOUR HD7 IS NOT WORKING AT ALL.
- Go to Settings
- Go to Region & Language
- Change Region format to Language (your Country's name)
- Change System locale to Language (your Country's name)
I am in India and the GPS on my HD7 (O2 UK) did not work for 1 month. I tried many things but this worked at last.
I also downloaded 'Drive On' navigation app later and it provides Voice Navigation for free and works very accurately. Bing Maps and Gmaps are fast but have no voice.
