There's pretty much nothing you can do about it now.
Plus it's the smallest device in the world having all the functions.
Plus it's the only VGA device at that size.
Plus it's the nicest VGA display amongst all.

Its because its a VGA screen (640x480). I guess before you were using a QVGA screen (320x240).
It looks sharper because there's more pixels per square inch i.e. the screen res is high, but the physical screen is small.
screen shots?
it's the VGA, my friend...
how do i landscape the rdp on the diamond? I just don't get it to display landscape.

Landscape only works with opera and the photo viewer. Wont work with any other application.
Here's a slightly bizarre one which I hope someone can solve. I have TomTom Navigator installed with UK map, but the scale is wrong, in the sense that it won't zoom to less than 1:200, whereas my XDA Orbit with the same maps zoom to 1:100. Also the TomTom symbol onthe opening splash screen is tiny, as are all the icons such as speed cameras, favourites etc. Also the writing and labels for menu shortcuts is small scale. Can anyone suggest where the problem might lie, please? I've tried several re-installs which hasn't changed anything.
Is there a registry tweak which might help?
thanks for any thoughts....
It may be related to this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2397285 - but if so it's very infuriating!
I am having the same problem with a custom VB.NET application that is installed on the HTC Touch Pro...all of the labels and image icons are 1/2 to 1/4 of the size I intend them to be.
On any other PDA running Windows Mobile (Treo, Samsung, Titan, etc...) - this issue does not occur - only on this HTC Touch Pro from Verizon...
Have you gotten any good suggestions about what the problem could be???
Could be something to do with the screen resoulution. the diamond packs 4 times the amount of pixels as the older devices such as the HTCTouch. Have your tried a newer version of tomtom?
Interesting, as I have the same thing. Icons and splash screen used to fill the whole screen on the artemis, but this is what they look like now. I guess it is the higher resolution. I'm using tomtom 6. It might be that tomtom 7 works better. I also have 7, might give it a whirl.
edit: Well, the splash for tomtom navigator 7 is full screen, and default voices icons are normal too. But the celebrity voice photos are still the same cropped size as you can see in my pictures, taken from tomtom 6.
Here we go... A nice program... Just put more than one finger on the screen... it recognize them all!! (it does not create a swirl for each finger, but it takes the average of coordinates and locate the center of swirl there)
It means that diamond screen can recognize more than one point simultaneously... (i wish i am not wrong)
Wasn't that behaviour always the case for single-touch devices?
Yes, that's not multitouch. Average of all touch is the default behavior for many touch devices including touchpads at laptops.
If they had really put a Multi touch Screen into the Diamond so why isn´t it in use????

Not a good argumentation. They've put a lot of HW in the diamond that we'll probably never use (heat-sensitive buttons, accelerated 3d graphic i.e.)
what are you talking about...first of all OS has to support multitouch...its the same as you cannot use HW when you havent SW support = drivers...
....but if its multitouch or not I ll try it in the evening...
Is it NOT Multitouch. It's a simple Resistive Touch Display.
This is how it works... it measures the resistance between two layers, if you connect the two layers at multiple points, the result is a point in the middle of the connection points.
Hi there,
I just got my diamond yesterday and I am very happy with it but some things really annoy me:
- Why did HTC took the green flashing light out of this device? Every HTC Device I used before had it (Himalaya, Magician, Prophet, StrTrk, Hermes). I really loved it, same with the Bluetooth LED...
Now the question: Is it really gone or maybe near the light sensor and can be activated via software ?
- The sensitivity of the Touchscreen is not as good as it was on my hermes. Where can I set this ?
- Why are the symbols in the taskbar for battery, 3G, G, E etc. so ugly ? They looked much better in the QVGA Versions. Any way to change them?
- Why are the ringtones so low on volume in comparison to hermes ? I hardly recognize when it rings in my pocket and I am in my car. Any way to make it louder ?
- The Startmenu is WAY to big, is it possible to make it in the old QVGA style ? Same for the context-menus. I don't like such big "recently used program icons" in my startmenu :-/
In all other manners it is a top device, I love it! Even the small battery is no problem for me because my hermes did not last longer than a day either. That was because of 3G Direct Push.
Any suggestions to my questions ?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards from germany,
T.Sami

I can answer to this question. If you go to Settings, System and TouchFlo you can make it in the old style. I thinks the bigger one is much better because it allow you to use the menu with fingers.
Touch Diamond 2
After the initial couples of days of excitement I set out to change the theme to O2 Blue. This is when I ealised that I am stuck with the current theme. The tf3D doesn't allow you to configure items or alter the theme. I am now using the SPB Mobile shell which heeps better, more flexible and professional looking. Another disappointing discovery is that the screen doesn't flip orientation automatically despite the fact that HTC has a built in G-sensor. The only programs where the screen flips automatically are (opera browser, photo album). Try using MS Excel in portrait and you see what I mean. Hopefully someone will prove me wrong and tell me how I can get my HTC diamond 2 to flip orientation automatically. One can live in hope!! The underlying message? If you haven't bought it yet, don't rush!!! don't judge it by the contact screen (flipping images). Final verdict? Stay away from it!
Change Screen
use Change Screen
its a free app that unlocks your G-Sensor, the best in my opinion
