Hello everybody,
I have a question, maybe somebody can help me here?
I am using an Artemis and consider to buy a TYTN2. Is it worth to change? I know, this is a strange question but maybe somebody had a Artemis before and is now using a TYTN2.
I guess iGO will work on the TYTN2 as well, is somebody using this SW?
Thanx in advance,
Ralf
If you look at GPS, yes, unnlike the P3600 Trinity, you are ok with the Tytn II GPS: it has a working quick GPS program. According to GPSPassion.com, the GPS quality is significantly improved, equivalent to the SirfIII (which you have in Artemis). The unit is slightly fatter and heavier though. You also have no FM radio. I like the one-hand navigation possible through the jog wheel on the side and the ok button on the side, which opens the windows menu when pressed. The tilt is nice when you keep the unit on your office linked to the PC, because it's not lying flat on the desk, you can see on it very well. Also when you use it as an alarm clock near your bed. Last but not least: WM6 without overclocking...
funny that you visit a Kaiser/TyTN II forum and ask that question
iGO do work on the device ... it's basically the OS that you should referred to when dealing with SW
I use it without any problem ... infact, I preferred it over TomTom !!!
yes i know, sorry for that
i think i will go for the tytn2, i was just looking for opinions and for the confirmation that iGO is working without problems. i need iGO for eastern europe, tomtom is here not very strong in map availability
thanx to all
ralf
If the weight is not an issue for you
If you can survive to the lack of VGA screen for surfing...
Then go and buy one
It's all great !
I have tried both Garmin XT and TOMTOM 7 on the Diamond. Both work great, the only reason I prefer TOMTOM is the map is the entire US and not just an area like Garmin. TOMTOM is fast and works great.
Has anyone gotten this to work? The tomtom site shows it works for the tytn but not our tytn2 aka kaiser/tilt. I've seen lots of results with the DUN cab and other 6/6.1 devices so I refuse to believe the one xl is not compatible. Has anyone a clue,a lead or resolution so we all can enjoy our traffic updates through this decent gps receiver?
I have a Kaiser AT&T Tilt; downloaded the TomTom Taster v 6; with it I can take the map from my Tom Tom One and use it in my Tilt, no problem.
Hi
Has anyone managed to install any decent truck sat nav software on their PDA? (not just alpine but any PDA).
Ive looked at TomTom Truck but not sure if it only works with latest dedicated all-in-ones like go700 etc?
Ive also looked at Truck Navigator 8 but dont have a copy to try it.
Anyone using anything good?
Thanks
TomTom Maps Of Western And Central Europe TRUCK v8.15.2112 Retail is out and about if you look in the right places BUT chances of it working on a PDA is minimal to say the least navcore 7 has only just recently been released to PDA's and I don't think that will run a version 8 map
Hello everyone! I wanted to ask because I tried everything but failed and came to the question of whether pro HTC Touch pro has integirsan GPS in it? I ask because I failed to set any Garmin or igo8?
both integrated and assisted ...
in igo8 leave the gps-settings on "auto" (it should find gps at port 4, baud 38400)
cheers
Means there is still an integrated GPS module in your phone? When I installed iGO8 does not recognize the GPS device, but I'll try with these settings. Thanks buddy!
Some Phones needs to have Bluetooth Active when using GPS.
Why I don't know just read it some were and on my Diamond Touch GPS only works when Bluetooth is active.
Good luck hope you get it working.
