Hi.
I've bought a MTEOR and the TomTom package "TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 - Software & Maps of Western Europe on memory card + GPS receiver ", Transferred the contents of the MiniSD to my 2G micro SD. Then I try to start with the "start.exe" but nothing happens. Have anyone successfully used TT6 with a MTEOR or another Breeze?

Hi according to what I know TT6 it's not supported on smartphones. However I did manage to install it on my MTeoR and runs, but I was not able to select street name etc... to move in the selection windows was not possible so I gave up after a while.
Had the same thing with TT6 on my MTeoR. It seems like TT is recognising the device as a Pocket PC with a touch screen. TT5 works fine
Hello,
Anyone know when Tomtom 6 for Smartphone will be released?
Needed application is out there, but accessible only to limited circle...
Sound funny, but I've seen it working...
Would be very important for me too!
Just bought MTeor and TT6 seperately; I've seen it sold in bundles, so i never thought about problems with it.
But: Same problem for me with selecting street names etc.
Funny is, that the stick works in all directions in the other menus, but if selecting the navigate to something options the stick up and down doesnt let me to select, but just chnages the volume up and down. same for the left jogdial:-(
Bundle is sold here: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=142114
Interesting forum entry: http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?i=138054&thread=25
Any ideas? What would you do? Buy an old TomTom Mobile 5 an sell out the new one? Will the old one work?
Sh..!
The old one works better, but has some issues. Mainly that the speech is interrupted. I'll wait for Tomtom mobile 6 (if it comes) before I buy.

Mmmm...what are the needed app you're reffering to? Original, beta or a "enhanced" tt6?
/Starg4ze
It works
It works on an unlocked HTC Mteor (i have it running)
Only installation is a problem because of not having a touch screen.
U can navigate in the menu's trought the number keys on your phone, 1=first menuitem, 2= second menuitem etc etc
And for installation you have to use something like Soti PocketControler to emulate a touch screen on your PC/Laptop.
But it's true that there is no (not yet) Navigator 6 for Smartphone, Navigator 6 is only for Pocket PC (touchscreen)
But this solution works......

I've got it running too, but can't navigate to any target, cause I can't select the street/city etc, cause up/down changes volume instead of let me scrolling through the names.
Is that true for your solution too?
Oliver.
Hi
I tried it and it is not usable on my Device - I have the latest WWE Rom installed.

Yes it's true that thats a problem, but if you type the adres and press the joystick on your MTeor, you select the top adres in the list.
It's true that you can't browse down, so you have to keep typing until the adres you want is the top one.
I am wondering, why the little Tool "MobileKeybdUtil.exe" is not allready known in this forum.
You start it as launcher on your Mteor. So TomTom is automatically started.
With this tool TomTom 6 works fine enough for me.
-You can use the "Back" Button to delete to the left.
-To select an item in the selction-lists, for example to select a destination City etc. , you have to press the *-Key and after a little sound, you can select the line by number. (5 for fifth entry etc.)
Except browsing over a map by joystick, everything is working and can be reached.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for this MobileKeybdUtil.exe. ive looked on search engines and forums and cant see anything.
thanks for any help
any updates
i have the same problem as that which opened this thread... mteor with ttn6 on a microsd... clicking start.exe does nothing... any ideas... somehow you all got this working but are holding back... are you using the hacked or legit version of the software... any ideas why this is happening.

I cannot find this anywhere. Anyone got any pointer?
our device supports GPS???the first time i heared
I have attempted to flash Touch-IT 3 to my WING and it failed. I tried this twice the first time it disconnected somewhere in the middle of flashing and the second time it gave me a sector "error" (Can't remember exactly what it said). Now the lucky part is that I have be able to restart the device and it does function partially. Problem is that most of the functions of WM6 are now missing and I would like to have some opinions as to what would be a good way of building a usable device from this.
Things I need
Office
Transcriber (I am one of the few that use this)
Internet Sharing
A text messaging app. (I can receive them but cannot reply-to or find them after I dismiss it).
What to tweak to improve sound quality.
Network Name (like it says T-mobile not GET MORE.......)
WiFi to connect without having to select the network and press connect
Bluetooth Functionality (Bluetooth Sharing, A2DP)
A fix for this memory leak
Current State
32.98MB Storage Free
26.19MB Program Free (After Soft Reset)
No Programs Installed (Under Remove Programs)
Touchflo with Cube (Installed From Flash)
HTC Audio Manager (Links but no program)
MS Word (found a link that works but seems to be decompressing from someplace)
HTC Album (Does seem to function)
Total Commander
Calendar
Camera
Contacts (Has references in menus to PocketCM but it is not there)
Windows Media (Touch-It Skinned)
Tasks and Voice Recorder (Work)
Help (Has contents and most help files it seems)
HTC Home (Functions but no options)
That covers just about everything. If anyone has any ideas I'll be glad to hear them. The things in the list are the only stuff I have no idea how to put on without cooking them into a ROM and some of the stuff I have never even tried before.
Thanks
Look at either the HyperCore kitchen or the EasyBakeOven. The hypercore has more options, but the easy bake oven... well, it's easy. These will help you create a ROM.
As far as the errors, make sure the phone has its phone features turned off when you do start updating. If someone tries to call mid-update, it will break the update.
Hi, has anyone managed to install this, and get it to work? It doesn't install properly on my Diamond and I can only see settings for it, nothing under programmes.
I get an error along the lines of "programme not installed correctly" or something like that ... can't stand Voice Commander pre-installed.
Thanks, M.
same happend to me, but just ignore the mesage. it is installed anyway. afaik the icon for voice command always was under settings it never had one in programs.
i just installed it and it works fine, allthough it seems that the recognition is not as good as it was on my tytn. will see if it improves over time...
cheers

Interesting. I set the button to be key 1 (same as where voice commander normally resides) and yet when I press it I just get a single tone beep response, not the normal multi-tone initiating voice command one.
Haven't tried it with my bluetooth headset yet as the charge has run out on it!
Also, has anyone figured out how to remove the installed Voice Commander?
Thanks, M.
works for me!
vc1.6 i installed it 5 times and did not work after i assigned my only f))king button it just one beep not like used to 3 beeps so i create a icon in programs dir and then link button to that it works perfect. perfect recognition if anything better and faster than any of my previos pda's
MS VC 1.7 freezes Daimond to hard reset
I Posted in another thread, but it should indeed belong here :
Hope to see a working solution for MSVC soon , an official fix from MS would even do fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2323586&postcount=109
I flashed to Eslite 1.0, so i might give it another try now
I have MSVC 1.6 OK on my Diamond. It is true, that the installation tells me error when I install, but now it is OK. You can configure MSVC in Settings/Voice Command. Then:
1) you have to create link to voicecmd.exe (for example voicebtn.lnk), copy this link into \windows\star menu\programs
2) in settings/button assignment, you have to reassign long press of phone button to this new link voicebtn.lnk and now is MSVC functional

i even did not get so far.
I tried to install 1.6 build 17913 on TLR Rom, though it gave this "unrecoverable error" again.
Rebooting resulted in a brick when tapping "settings" which forced a hard reset again damned
Will stick a while to Cyberon Voice command, though I liked MSVC better.
I have used MSVC_US_PPC 1.6.19209.bengalih.cab from pda4x.
No problem after setting Button1 to MSVC.

How did you make that link? Sorry neub

How to open websites in opera using voice command
I'm running a german version of MSVC v1.60.46220 and it's running very smooth. I read the tutorials and configured it to meet my needs. Now I want to open websites with opera using a simple command like "Start xda-developers". To do this I created a link (.url) in a subfolder of programs. This works with Pocket IE. To open the site in opera I changed the file association for the extension .url to \windows\OperaL.exe "%1%. Now opera starts but the home screen appears instead of the site that is linked. help appreciated
I cant get the talking ringtone to work on my diamond.
I adjusted the settings so it should work without an headset.
Do you have to adjust the ringtone somewhere?

to create the link mentionned by rxdoctor in post #4 :
1 - from your PC, go to \program files\voice comand on your pda (via Active Sync connection), create a shortcut here (like you would do for a file on your PC)
2- move this shortcut to \Windows\start menu\Programs on the pda
Then the name of this shortcut appears in the drop down list of programs you can assign to the button.
Now I have MS voice command working fine
I have a stereo Jabra BT headset.
When I klik on the button on the headset he starts WMPlayer.
Does anybody know if there is a setting the turn this off?
Now its have a conflict with PocketMusic (v5.04)
Configurable Avrcp_MPplugin.dll interface??
Responsible for the opening is a DLL called Avrcp_MPplugin.dll
where this functionality is hardcoded.
I had a standard HTC Touch that mapped the BT Headset button on my sony HBH-200 to the OK Button. With Mort Player and Pocket Player i was therefore able to pause/play.
Question to community:
1. Is it possible to replace the DLL with the one from HTC Touch on the diamond?
2. if YES can anyone send me the DLL or explain how to do it. Patch Rom Install Update or cook a new Rom?
to: ratzefumm at gmx.net
Need: Avrcp_MPplugin.dll, bta2dp.dll, sbc.dll
(see http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=112637)
3. does a version exist that is configurable? with button mapping or button learning function.
think: BT Command comes via AVRCP from HS so it should be possible to map this commands on demand.

I'm trying to copy the files off my Mogul for you, to see if that works, but it's apparently a protected file. I can't copy it. I wonder if that's because it's loaded and running? Maybe these files can be extracted from a cooked ROM. Any ideas? I'm very interested in getting this working because I want a Touch Pro. I'm waiting until it comes out for sale through Sprint though. Currently I have a HTC Mogul. One problem I can see right now is if I can't even copy it off the Mogul, how are we going to write over it on the Diamond/Pro? I'm thinking a ROM would have to be cooked up, no?
Okay I tried messing around with my Mogul to see if it was possible to substitute the DLLs on it. I figured if it was, it might be possible to do it on the Touch Diamond/Pro. Unfortunately, I couldn't write over those files or copy them off the device. It is definitely in the ROM and read-only. I even got rid of all the registry entries that referred to it, to make sure it wasn't just file-locked.
The next thing I tried was copying the Tornado Avrcp_MPplugin.dll using a different name. No problem. I called it Avrcp_MPplugin_tor.dll. I then changed the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7AAC2B28-5DD1-4052-81DD-E17114EE96B6}\InProcServer32 default value to the new name. Soft reset. This worked. However, again, I only have a Mogul right now, so the best I was hoping for was just not breaking my phone. I can't test to see if this makes a difference for intercepting the AVRCP commands on a Diamond/Pro where the AVRCP is funky.
Can anybody out there with a Diamond/Pro give these steps a shot? Also, this is "hacking" territory, so be sure you know what you are doing so you don't completely brick your phone.
If replacing this DLL doesn't work, there's still the bta2dp.dll and bthutil.dll which have changable registry entries.
EDIT: Don't forget to run Tor_A2DP_cert.cab since the new DLLs are signed by a different CA than the originals.
I am trying to stop my HTC headset using the Touch Flow player on my Pro as it cant cope with the number of files I have. Any ideas on this?

I can confirm this doesn't work with avrcp_mplugin.dll
I downloaded the Tornado A2DP cab from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263735
I ran the cert cab and copied the renamed avrcp_mplugin.dll into my windows directory, changed the registry key, and soft-reset. No luck with pocket player. WMP still popped up. There are no other instances of that dll in the registry. I will have to try the other dlls at a later time, but it seems unlikely that the dlls that are the issue-- AVRCP works perfectly for me when I use the HTC player within TouchFlo3D.
FYI, I'm on a Sprint CDMA Diamond.
-R
sketchy9 - thanks for trying that out. My hope was that the hard-wired code was in a higher level DLL -- possibly even a semi-unrelated DLL (such as a A2DP DLL isntead of the AVRCP DLL), but it may possibly be deeper in the BT stack. From what I've read, there are at least several other people looking into the deeper BT stack, so since I have very little expertise in that area, I'll leave that to them. Meanwhile, I'm attempting to talk to somebody at HTC directly about this issue, hoping to hear from the horse's mouth exactly where the hardwired WMP code exists and if there's a way to work around it.

This is not good news. The Sprint Music player sucks. The UI is horrid and since it has control of the AVRCP it's the music player I'm forced to use as I use a stereo bluetooth headset all the time and listen to tunes much more than make phone calls. Not being able to touch the pause button on the headset and having to instead dig out the phone, unlock it, get over to a music player like Pocket Player and hit the pause button only to say "Huh? I sorry I was listening to music. What did you say?" is totally unacceptable.
Are you sure that when you copied avrcp_mplugin.dll into the Windows directory it actually replaced the file? Because I can't even copy it out much less rename it without a permissions or sharing violation. How can you overwrite it?
I believe the HTC Player is using Windows Media Components or something like that. Is there any way to disable the HTC Player (on my Sprint phone this is called Sprint Music) such that it doesn't grab hold of the AVRCP away from another media player like Pocket Player.
Oh and note I have had some times where the HTC Player does not respond to a Play/Pause through AVRCP. I don't know how it happens but the HTC Player loses control of AVRCP. Instead I fired up Pocket Player and to my delight it responded to Play/Pause through AVRCP. However, to my horrid that broke before my own ears about an hour or two later and control reverted back to Sprint Music.
Are there any HTC forums specifically about their Touch Flow 3D interface?

Can you please explain how you did that in more details. How exactly did you map BT Headset button to the OK button and how do you choose which one to map (for example HBH-DS220 has stop, play and call button). I opened buttons dialog from the settings and only button I can see is button1(hold).
Pocket Player did it
At this URL you can see comments on the related topic - apparently Pocket Player has solved this issue. I'm not a fan of their player usually - a little heavy and a little slow. But in this case, I must say that they are the only ones who solved it. I tried it myself and it works.

to begin with, i want to tell you all how glad i am to have found and be a part of this community which taught and showed me a lot of things on how to configure and set up a decent working version of Windows Mobile. this is my first winmob phone, after having a dozen java/symbian/s60 operated phones.
i chose the HTC over the iPhone mainly because of the huge possibilities of tweaking, but for an inexperienced (WinMobile) user like me, to kick it off in the right way might prove to be harder than at first expected. so i decided to create this topic not only to ask for your help but hopefully to lay down some basic guidelines for all users new to this forum and to WinMob.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
my ROM version is 1.37.401.3 and my Radio version is 1.00.25.03 - that's how i bought it from store.
1. i installed the advanced confing utility but some options there don't work for me (e.g. Show SIM contacts - disable[doesn't work] or X button - close app [same]). why is that ?
2. is it in anyway possible to modify my start menu app list cause it laggs for about 2-3 seconds before opening the huge list i have there
3. what does the Radio version mean ? from what i've read on these forums, i'm thinking it has to do more than with the basic radio app, right ? what exactly does the higher version (.05) improve ?
4. the ROM version - correct me if i'm wrong .. are there official ROM versions from HTC that can be downloaded from their site that work regardless of the tweakings done to the phone? and how are user made ROMs better ? is there anything consistently better than my current version in terms of battery life and performance ?
5. i've read the manual and it says that the win media player supports .avi files yet mine doesn't open one. anything special i need to know of ?
6. what programs can i install apart from those i've found here? say yahoo messenger, if i don't want to use win messenger. and if that's possible, are there appz especially made for winmobile cause i doubt it that an ordinary PC .exe will work the same
7. is there any way to use the camera from the front of the phone for photos?
8. is there no other possibility of turning the phone ON from sleep mode other than the power button ? if not, where's the timer that sets how many seconds pass before entering sleep mode?
9. if i got it right, tomtom7 is a gps navigation program, right? does it work stand-alone? i mean, no external receiver? and does it connect to the internet while in usage ? what about google maps?
10. any other useful programs to recommend other than the ones found within this section of the forum ? i've read about users using Total Comander.. where can i find that ? or is it the normal PC program ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
i know these are a lot of questions but honestly these were the first things that popped in my mind after using this phone for nearly 5 days now i'll be grateful for whatever answers, advice and solutions you'll be kind enough to provide.
8. Take out the stylus - wakes it up. Just got mine today and found this out by accident. After all - why read the manual??
9. TomTom 6 is the version I bought for my Trinity, and it works just fine on my Diamond. I just chose Com Port 4 for 'other bluetooth receiver' and it works without the need for an external bluetooth GPS receiver. Curiously it turns bluetooth on while TT is running - then turns it off when stopping TT. Does it really need to connect to itself via bluetooth? Any readers got an idea?
domnu' iliescu,
a. go to:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Diamond
and learn a few basics and in special a few therms some "slang"
b. go to:
http://modmydiamond.info/index.php and learn how to hardspl and flash a new ROM.
the "cooked" ROMs are by far better than the original one (the one u have for example). is like buying a car and using a kit to tune it, make it the way you like it. you tweak the motor and you''l get less consumption (more memory and longer battery life), more speed (faster and smoother diamond) and so on. escuse my car analogy but the thing i love even more than my diamond is my car (i wonder, is it really in this order?).
now, my answers to yr question. i might be wrong on some of the answers but there are enough ppl here hapy to correct me..lol
1. there is a high probability that flashing a new ROM will change that (see a.)
2. for sure flashing will solve it.
3. in simple words, the radio is the function that allows you to make calls, use bluetooth or yr gps. connectivity. see my a. for more info.
4. see the beginning of my replay namely, point b.
5. don't know why, again maybe a new ROM will solve this (strange ..)
6. live it to later. there is somewhere here a post regarding applications and programs supported by diamond. first flash new ROM and new radio, get familiar with the device and forget about applications. there are a few "must have" but again, l a t e r .
7. the camera is for video calls. why do u need to used when u have a better (much better) one dedicated to taking pictures?
8. pull out the stylus is my favorite.
regarding "the timer":
- go to settings/system/power/backlight for adjusting the backlight and go to settings/system/power/advanced for what u call "sleep mode". btw, it is in diamond's manual!
9. the diamond has an internal GPS. no need for external (see yr manual again). you can choose between lots of navigation programs. tomtom, igo8 and google maps (never used google maps, maybe somebody else is going to help you). i am using igo8.
10. total commander is somewhere as a cab file in the thread of one of the many ROMs here. i'll look for it or i'll upload mine somewhere.
important!!
read diamond's manual, keep reading in the forum, ask only after you are certain that the answer is not somewhere here (use search function) and read again some more! "invatzatzi! invatzatzi! invatzatzi!
good luck! Noroc!
On point 8, has anyone managed to wake the phone up/bring the screen light back on without pressing the power button or removing the stylus? Pushing the central button or even the home button would be better.

You should install diamond tweak, you'll find it on the forum, for easyier twaeking, it got 40 tweaks incl, and you can easy just disable or enable there.
if you hide sim contacs, it will be reset to show again after a soft reset i think.
4. the ROM version - correct me if i'm wrong .. are there official ROM versions from HTC that can be downloaded from their site that work regardless of the tweakings done to the phone? and how are user made ROMs better ? is there anything consistently better than my current version in terms of battery life and performance ?
Yes there is a new rom out, 1.93, you can download it from htc.com, htc e club, register there, and then register your product when you are logged on, and you should be able to install it.
5. i've read the manual and it says that the win media player supports .avi files yet mine doesn't open one. anything special i need to know of ?
Install TCPMP/core player, .avi, .mpeg etc. works there, best player for movies imo.
