During an incoming call the display shows only "unknown" for about 3 seconds before the name appears.
Any one else experienced this?
I'm not experienced this..
Maybe, its related by wrong number format.. Change all contacts number to int. format..

Maybe you have attached a large size photo to your contact and it is the time i needs to be loaded.
All numbers are in INT format already and I have no images attached?
This also happened on a earlier ROM
I have the same problem - I have to wait for a few seconds before I know who's calling - a little suprising considdering the processing power the Diamond has?
So - having said that - I'm also not convinced that this thread belongs in the Rom Development space - could we move it to the standard Diamond board please?
I only realised this problem occur today - it's never happend before.. maybe it's an on-off thing.

Me to, bloody annoying problem, never had this issue on any other smart/PDA phone
Same here for me. Numbers are all entered in the correct format in my address book (+316xxxxxxx), and the caller's number is displayed exactly the same. Even so, it takes the TD a few seconds to identify the caller. No picture added to the person.
Very annoying... Makes me think the TD is sluggish.

I think is something related to Windows and the time needed to identify the contact. I have about 300 contacts...it could be due to this reason (therefrore the contact lookup is slow)? The others that have tha same problem...do you also have many contacts? Or it makes the same even with 20 contacts,...

I've got 103 contacts, some of them with multiple phone numbers. I doubt whether the number really matters. In my last WM5 phone it was no problem.
Move along boys, there isnt such issue with the DIamond its an awsome phone.
p.s: I am having the same issue with my Diamond

the flashing light comes on almost instantly, but, the ring and contact name delays ~3secs. sometimes, i saw it is unknown caller, then, converted to the contact name.

Don't think the number of contacts has anything to do with it. i have about 5 (just installed the new rom and no free time ) And I have the same problem. It's iritating, because it already takes a lot of time before the ringtone goes of (2 sec.) and then I have to take it out of my jeans and out of its pouch.
Just a old tip I remembered from my BB time which had somewhat similar issue.
Go to Contacts, menu -> Properties.
Check that Area Code is set correctly. (without + or 00).
Might be nothing, but worth a try.
I did have this problem but noticed it does not happen anymore after I flashed to bElite ROM

Is there a way how the screen can stay off during the calendar reminder (appointment, task notification)? I have tried Diamond Tweak and other apps, but I haven't seen such an option.

yeah, I was acctually also searching for this. The problem is quite similar to the one accidentally answering the call due to the touchscreen sensitivity.
If anyone has a solution for this (maybe a registry hack?), please post.

I'd be interested in the solution as well.
Have you guys tried installing s2u2? Its like a sliding unlocker program like the iphone and it shuts down the screen and locks the screen on its own.....evn when a reminder is on. I've tried this on my touch and it works for me. The phone will wake up....sound the alarm for like 5 mins and then the screen shuts down....and the phone's locked again.
The phone should stay off, as can be done with new SMS notifications. Is there really no way?
I have the same freaking issue! It looks like a simple to solve problem, but i can't find anything! The sms notification hack works perfectly, there has to be someone who can find something! Please somebody with PPC knowledge take a look!

It seems so simple. I've searched a lot but cannot find anything. Isn't there a registry entry which allows processes to wakeup the phone or something?

I'm a victim of weird problem that occurs on my SE Xperia X1 phone and affects the clock.
Generally, after going into standby mode something is happening with system clock and after switching the phone on the clock is late - sometimes just few minutes, sometimes few hours.
This bug appears only sometimes and the soft restart seems to solve the problem for a while (the clock updates itself to correct time), still it is very unfortunate bug, especially when you use a phone as a alarm every morning
Did someone had such problems with X1? and perhaps know the way to solve this problem?

my x1 seems to freeze about once per day when docked. usually the only way that i notice is when the clock is stuck (i.e it's still stuck at 15:30 when it's 16:15). the other thing that happens is that for some reason the default theme is applied when i open the start menu (i.e the start menu colour is the same as the genric windows theme colour) ...
a reboot fixes this issue. so far this has only happened to me when i've been docked (as far as i'm aware) so it may have something to do with activesync ... ?
hardreset is the fastest way to solve "strange" problems.
do it and check without installing anything. if it happens again your xperia has something bad, if it happens again after installing software, then there's some program causing it.

Guys after the R2AA10 update the clock problem is still there. No programs install for 2 days, and today suddenly, clock has gone 1 hour back...
What is going on?
This happens only in 2nd and 4th panel. The clock is normal in the 1st panel, and in the panel with the fish...
What should i do? I tried soft, hard reset, everything!

I think it might be due to some bug in a power saving feature...

I have a part solution
it happens on the SPB panel for me, its the 4th panel for me also.
if yours it the 4th panel too then try moving the panel to another place.
if that doesnt work then i know this deffo works as iv used it, goto the today panel, leave it there for a few minutes (10-20) then go back to the panel which has got the bug, you will notice the time will be in sync and the problem goes away. It happens from time to time, sometimes weeks apart so as much as its a pain, i can live with it. I dont know if it affects the alarm when the time stops.
I have the same problem with the clock. Was looking for a solution here and found this topic. Funny thing is, I have also the spb mobile shell panel and it is on the 2nd place. I will try the trick of safdl and hope that the problem will solved. And about the alarm, freezing of the clock doesn't effect the alarm.

My Touch Diamond had the same problem : the clock was never right. so I downloaded the advanced configuration tool and turned on every single power management option and it seems to have fixed it. hope it will work for you too.

Hi all.
I have discovered a problem with an X1.
When recieving a SMS, It will not display I have a new text message...or sms icon on the top title bar.
However, If I go into the messaging.. I will find.. that i have indeed had a new text.
sometimes.. i can check my phone front screen many times..and then only if i go into messaging, will i see the text has actually come ages ago..but no notifications on homescreen or titlebar...but once into messaging... it will show...in blue.. one new sms.
It the stock r3a rom..and no hardspl/anything else installed or on.
I have hard reset, and tried it with zero apps installed...however, it still does it.
Anyone else come across this issue? or more so.. a fix?

I also experienced the same problem. So, if i received a message, but i don't wake my phone, it wont give any sound or any notification. But if i wake it up, there will be a notification about it, although it was sent an hour ago.

I had a problem a while ago in which the the notifier in Xperia panel would say I have new messages but when I open the message-inbox there's nothing there. So I only recieved texts 10% of the time, very very annoying and I had T-Mobile send it back because it wouldn't work properly even after using SE update service.

Stock Rom
nothing installed at all. It has just been to SE for repair on Keyboard sticking issue... keys would re-repeat..and have to really depress the space bar.
This is now resolved...but the SMS notification issue still exists.
I wondered if those others suffering also... had A T-Mobile sim.?
Mine is a Generic_UK device and was purchased outright for £500 from expansys...and has not been flashed in anyway except official upgrades. (work device... my personal device is flashed more times than i would care to admit.)
For what it's worth, my boyfriend has the same problem, and he's on AT&T.

Why is it we are having multiple problems with this issue... and no one really has ever addressed it?
Seems to be an issue that is fundamental to a phone nowadays..
I once had the problem that indeed the notification popped up but the message was not stored in the sms directory. Anyway, installing a new rilphone and radio solved that problem for me. Why don't you try different rilphones or radio if you did not already?

After I boot the diamond (GSM) the phone starts behaving in an erractic manner. The task drop down list in the upper right corner keeps getting triggered automatically without any input. Any applications which I open get automatically closed after a few minutes. It appears that the close button which appears in the right hand corner is being pressed automatically.
I thought that this was something to do with the ROM so I reflashed it with a new ROM. I was on Don Salari ROM earlier and now have Gen.Y R5.5 but still the issue reoccurs. Recently changed the battery to a high capacity compatible one, thought that it might be the issue but the behavior persists even when using the old battery. I've also recalibrated the screen but the issue persists.
I've uploaded a video of the odd behavior to youtube but can't the post the outside link in the forum yet. If required please PM me and I'll pass on the link.
Any one has experienced similar behavior? Any troubleshooting guidance and solutions are welcome.
