Sono Arrivato 1!!!!!! Extrom Unlocked

Found how to reveal Extrom in Trinity!!!!!
Just edit the registry and............. (follows)
Here it is:
More or less the concept is the same of the others.
The HTC put also in this ROM an allocate partition to allow the various customers to put their own cab installers and custom the device. You can evidence this from the unvonted installation of programs after the "hardreset".
How to reveal:
with an regeditor for ppc ( I used PHM RegEdit)
HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\EXT_FLASHDRV
Bootphase =2 (0x000002)
DrivePath =Drivers/builtIn/EXT_FLASHDRv
LoadFlags = 1 (0x000001)
Order = 1 (0x000001)
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV
DefaultFileSystem = FATFS
Folder = Extend_ROM
MountHidden = (00000000)
Name
PartitionDriver
That's all!
I've just been able to reveal EXTROM....
Now I'll try to make Extrom writable too.....
Just let me work on it.....
Or post some suggests

forgive my ignorence, but what does this enable you to do? what is the EXTROM?
as said above ....

Hi ferret! Great work on posting the registry edit!
Managed to show it and my extrom is 9.94MB. My device is showing (under "Memory") 58.68MB for Storage and 49.10MB for Program. But under "Device Information", I should have 64MB RAM & 128MB Flash. Where have the rest of the memory gone?
Is there a way to unlock more memory?

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Actual memory is (64+64)mb=128mb
not 64+128 mb!
Does this mean that the memory specs advertised by HTC are false/misleading?
ROM: 128 MB
RAM: 64 MB SDRAM
Hey!
Here I am,
I've been busy with other things and now I'M back!
OK Let's Work On It!
.........or at least ......let's try ;-)!!!

Nope, it only means that if you actualy knew how a WM5 device's architecture was laid out, then you would know half the ROM gets eaten up by the operating system...
No need for the sarcasm. I do have some idea about the memory usage, my point was that specs published by manufacturers should give a more clear indication about the available memory to the user such as after a hard reset.
You've got a point there...
And i should have added a smilie...
No problem...settled then!
Hi Ferret ! Mi daresti un aiutino ? Bit Long Sorry
I have installed IBE RegEditor on my Trinity (your editor apparently does not work with my device). Prima la descrizione, poi il problema (first desription then the problem).
First, I have made a backup of the registry file (named: Oldreg) and placed in a different directory.
Then, I have opened the registry. This is what it looks like (I indicate only the files and keys that you suggest to tweak to expose Extended Rom):
..................................................................................................
(Name) = (Data) == (Type)
HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\EXT_FLASHDRV
Bootphase = 2 == REG_DWORD
DrivePath =
LoadFlags =
Order = Drivers\BuiltIn\EXT_FLASHDRV == REG_SZ
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV
DefaultFileSystem =
Folder = Extend_ROM == REG_SZ
MountHidden = 1 == REG_DWORD
Name
PartitionDriver= FATS == REG_SZ
....................................................................................................
Now, adesso, how can I modify the entries above to obtain exposition of Extended Rom ? Shall I use your indications or you suggest different ones ?
Thank you very much, Buon Natale

WM6: Make WM keep CAB files around after installing

The 'old' way (1: HKLM\Software\apps\Microsoft Application Installer\nDynamicDelete = 0 or 2: HKCR\cabfile\Shell\open\command = 'wceload.exe "%1" /nodelete' ) of keeping cab files after installing isn't working anymore? Does anybody knows how to disable deleting cab files after installing for WM6? I'm working with the clean WM6 rom son no PDAviet 1/2/3 or 4
thanks in advanced.
da Heufster
i made a thread about this months ago.. "keep cabs" search for it
It still works this way. I use it this way on my own cooked WM6 Rom. I integrate this setting directly in the cooked rom, but setting this value with a Reg Editor should also work without problems.
And yes....I also use the Clean version.
Molski
I find that using the DynamicDelete key will not work. The /nodelete option works. Just give it some time before you shutdown and restart.
you can also change your cabs to "Read Only" and this will prevent them from being deleted also... you can do this on your desktop before copying over, or use an app like Total Commander
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\cabfile\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\\Windows\\wceload.exe \"%1\" /nodelete"
Believe me.....this works!
Thanks will try it again, could be I did something wrong.

Registry resets after soft reset

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my Diamond (Bepe rom 0.95 installed).
If I set Hide Sim Contacts to Value 0 in Registry it will reset to default (1) after a reboot or soft reset.
Tryed it with Advanced Config 2.1 and with Resco Registry
Can someone help me?
Thx
jlove
P.S: I already searched the forum and also read the whole Diamond Tweaks Sticky. There are some people where the regvalue stays how it should and some say it doesnt work.

help with speed tweaks?? cant get anything

ok im completely new to winmo. but jsut got the htc touch pro for sprint.
I have NO clue how to put custom roms on it and ive read numerous tuts. But I like the default layout and I want everything to still work. I want sprintv and gps and bluetooth etc.. to all work.
So since i didnt wanna change to much but just get better performance and speed
-I wanted to install Advanced Config Tool but everytime i isntall the .cab on phone when I run it i get an error about needing a newer version of microsoft framework or something?
-and their are alot of tweaks I like here and wanna do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413562
but once again i am CLUELESS.
Thanks
You need net framework 3.5 to use adv config. Google it.
I have it, already did that. I downloaded net framework on pc and all.
and then I put the advanced config cab on phone, installed and ran
anyone?
also its a sprint phone
Just open adv. config, and set the cache values as high as they go and see how you like it (actually, I think I set the filter cache to 4012). Are you still having problems opening AC? If so, you need to change the reg values for HKLM\Software\Microsoft\NetFramework (or whatever it is) from 1->0 for 2.0 and from 0->1 for 3.5.
You can always change the values manually with a registry editor. AC inserts an xml file into \windows (I think), and you can find the keys in there.
thanks, yeah when I install AC on my touch pro it says some error like that, but how do i go ahead and edit it like you said?
Get total commander to edit the registry.
Edit: Here's a copy of the .xml file for AC that has all of the reg entries that you can tweak. You can do all this stuff manually with Total Commander if you follow the registry path (Plugins/Registry/....) and change the values to what you want to try out. Google 'Ghisler total commander' to find TC.
These are the reg entries you want to tweak; I'm leaving stuff out to save space, but have my own settings in there which work well for me.
Code:

</setting>
<setting key="[COLOR="Red"]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS[/COLOR]" name="[COLOR="red"]CacheSize[/COLOR]" type="integer">

The #'s that appear in blue are what you want to enter in as values in total commander. You have to soft reset after making the changes. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is 'HKLM' under the registry directory of total commander. Look in the xml for other possible settings. It's hard to see, but the first setting ("enablecache") is 1, in case the stock setting has it as 0 (i.e. cache not enabled).
2nd Edit: If you just want to try out the settings I use, install the cab that I attached and soft reset. You won't have to mess with your registry then.

New App Unlock/Hard SPL Unlock ?

i thought this was interesting. maybe a FREE way to hard spl? i have not tried this out. have no idea if it works. iam not a dev i dont know if this can even be called hard spl. or just a reg edit.
Regedit STG
This is a signed version which is needed to unlock the phone (a little easier to unlock than a IPhone). Cut & paste from Robert Peloschek’s blog:
1.Simply put the *.zip file with the regeditSTG.exe in it with ActiveSync into a folder on your phone (but not onto the memory card).
2.Unzip the file with the *.zip program that comes with your phone.
3.Now start regeditSTG.exe and change the following Registry Keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 2
-> Change the value data from 2 to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16
-> Change the value data from 16 to 40
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 128 (mine 36)
-> Change the value data from 128 to 144
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies
-> Add new value “0000101b”: Dword = 1
After you have done all these steps close Regedit STG with the task manager (TaskMan) of your phone and reboot. That’s it. Your phone is now totally application unlocked.
nah, application unlock is not CID unlock.
by the way, if you are a personal user, Hard-SPL is free for you, if you got any issues with using the Hard-SPL, you can always ask in the Hard-SPL thread.
this is like something SIM unlock ? or w
