Camera won't save photos - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Good morning Forum, I have a problem for the Pro's in here! Searched the forum already with no luck so far. I'm using the T-Mobile MDA IV Compact with HTC German Rom RUU_Diamond_HTC_GER_1.93.407.1 and Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool v3.2. Well, whenever I take a picture (doesn't matter if it is Standard, GPS or Sportmode), the busy animation comes up for two minutes (the rotating ball). After that, the camera returns to it's "home screen". It seems like the device was "searching" for something and finally gave up. The picture was not saved, I searched the whole device, internal and external memory. OK, I checked the registry to see what save folders have been selected under HTC/Software/Camera/Image. It was "Eigene Bilder", "My Pictures" in English. So I created this folder in root of internal and external memory. No luck. What could be wrong?? Thanks in advance guys!!

was the camera ever working? and if it was, what are the changes you have made since?

Many things can be changes with schapps config tool.
If you didnt succeed figuring it out yet, I would suggest a hard reset of the device, making everything default.
If the camera doesnt work then, you will probably need to have it returned for warranty repair.
After hard reset, dont restore any backup. Since that would restore any faulty registry keys/entries.

Well, it was working just fine with the original T-Mobile Rom. I changed for the HTC Rom, the device works allot faster now and without problems so far. After I installed the Advanced Configuration Tool the camera was not willing to save anymore. I was hoping that could be fixed easily by renaming the save folders, right? I hate hard resets....

Same problem with 1.93 italian rom....

So, seems like it could be some language incompatibility with the tweak-up program.
In that case, a hard reset should make the phone back to normal.
You could try to then reinstall the tweaker and make notes of what happenes step by step.
This way you, and others can get an insight to what would make this error.

I changed all the paths to the save folder for every camera option.
Here is an export of my setting taken from my registry:
As you can see I changed all the paths for P1 til P10
Savefolder to internal storage\my documents\my pictures is \intern geheugen\mijn documenten\mijn afbeeldingen

Solution
it was the same for me
as i remember the BURST or Sport mode drove my diamond crayz...
i used one of the tweaking apps in order to activate the mentioned tweaks...
after that i experinced the same.
backup the registry, but a reset could be better

Hm, that issue sucks. I renamed everything as suggested by MRE-net (thanks for the input by the way!) with no success. Then I restored all settings of Schap's Advanced Config, but hey! Again no luck. Can't tell you how much I hate hard-resets.... Have a great sunday everybody!

I've got exactly the same problem...its so frustrating!
All i did was upgrade to the 1.93 WWE AFK ROM, the camera defnitely stopped working with the same errosa as you after that. I also get the loading/spinning WM icon, sometimes it goes back to the homescreen and other times i have to manually stop the process as it never stops spinning. I did also install advanced config 3.1 since the upgrade, but i hadn't used it yet, so i don't think that's the problem.
Have you done a hard reset yet, did it come right?

I have the same problem

guys, did you used "Encode photos in portrait mode" in Advanced Config? this is is doing mess with taking pictures with Camera (for me on Touch Pro).

YES, that did work very well! Thanks a bunch, dude!!! You saved me from a hard reset, have a beer on my tab anytime! OK, back to the news. That did indeed work beautiful, strange thing is that pictures get saved into a folder that I never selected (in the registry). I selected:
\Internal Memory\DCIM, and now it's \Internal Memory\My Documents.
Well, I'm happy, so be it! I don't mind as long as it works!!!

Is this a tutoral? no, just an emulator to run on desktop. Yes in all available languages. But does your answer tell us how to get xxxxxxxx.dll.XXXX.mui, registry settings and whatelse out of the emulator into the ROM???

RealVGA? Himalaya is QVGA. Does this work on our device?
is the reset hard or soft?

this is working on himalaya, and it's a soft reset.
but this taking 4-5 Mo of storage :-(

Abi Himalaya dediğimiz XDAII , MDA2 , Qtec2020 , Imate Pocket PC cihazlardır.Senin cihaza bu sistem uymaz.Sakın deneme kurulmaz zaten ama kurulursa da makinan iptal olur muhtemelen

ca ne marche pas avec mon spv m1000 (himalaya- qtek 2020) mahlesef calisiyor ama ismini hatirlayamdigim iki dosyanin acilamadigi uyarisiyla. Ha birde bazi bolumlerde yine english devam etti. ben birsey anlamadim. Yine ingilizce bir rom yuklemek zorunda kaldim.

Teşekkür ederim arkadaşım.Hermes için şuan Türkçe çalışma yapan kimse yok.Ben hazırlayabilirim ama Hermes cihazım olmadığı için hataları tespit edemem.Bu yüzden eğer anlarsan nasıl rom düzenleyeceğini sitemde anlattım.Oradan rom dosyalarını alıp Türkçe paketide oradan inrdirip kendin de hazırlayabilirsin.Çok zor değil.Seninde bayramın kutlu olsun.
