Yesterday I flashed my Tilt and installed the RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.03.405.0 ROM. Everything was working just fine. My fiancee liked the new layout and functionality, so I flashed her phone tonight, with the same ROM and everything.
However, from the moment she called my phone from hers to test the new ROM, neither of our phones has played any sound whatsoever. No ringtones, no media files, we can't even here or talk to other people when we make calls. I've also noticed that for whatever reason, inside the alarms menu when I try to set an alarm sound, the drop down menu forces the selection to "Default". Even if I try scroling with the keypad or the wheel, the selection shifts up or down one, then immediately returns to "Default". I'm guessing these two problems are somehow connected, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what the problem is or why it would suddenly afflict both phones, even though I hadn't done anything to mine except answer her call.
I've tried resetting the phone and going through all sorts of options, but nothing seems to make a difference. I can still send and recieve text messages, and the vibrate works just fine. I can even connect to calls, but I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me.
I've looked around online and in this forum, and I only found one instance of someone else complaining about this problem (on a blog with a top 10 list of fixes for Tilt problems), but his plea went unanswered there.
As it is, I couldn't call 911 if I needed to right now, so this is a pretty big problem.
Any ideas? Do I just need to re-flash both phones?

ouch... this is a pretty easy one and has been answered MANY times... check the thread called "no sound or camera problems... change your radio" so yeah... change your radio.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, but I've searched the exact string you posted, I've tried "No sound" (with and without quotes, and several other combination, and I can't find the thread you're talking about. I'm sorry if this question pops up a lot, I really did spend an hour and a half trying to find the answer before asking. Can you please provide a link or show me why my searches aren't finding the right results?
For what it's worth, I think the poster above was directing me to this thread:

but I'm not %100 sure.

oops... they must have changed the title... it used to be "sound and camera issues: Change your radio" admittadly this new title is more confusing let me know if changing you radio to the recommended one fixes your problem(ignore spelling errors, too tired to care)
Wow.. I've been at this for a while now. I'm starting to understand the whole Radio thing, but I'm having the damnedest time figuring out which radio I should be installing. I've found pages and pages of numbers and names, but what I haven't seen is recommendations or hints towards the HTC 3.03.405.0 ROM's compatibility with the various radios. I've tried changing the radio once so far, but it didn't change any of the issues I"m having.. I'll keep trying (So not looking forward to work tomorrow)

listen, you dont have to try every radio individually.... I dont know if your rom is 6.0 or 6.1 but that should start to narrow it down... but worse comes to worse you only have to try 4 different radios... the first 3 numbers are the important ones... after that try the others starting with those numbers to find the best reception/gps fix etc... so try one of each of the
1.27 (if you have 6.0)
or
1.58
1.64
1.65 (if you have 6.1) (which is more likely if this is a new rom)
whatever you do do NOT flash to 1.65.17.10
try those 4 starting with 1.65
Thanks so much for your help and patience with me.
Ok.. this is slowly coming together in my head.
I'm flashing 1.64.08.21 right now, and I'm running WM6.1 on an AT&T Tilt.
And... grr.. still no luck.
Guess I'll have to go without my phone for tomorrow, cause if I don't get some sleep now, I'll probably kill a customer at work.

try 1.65.20.29... I bet that'll get everything running
hi i believe this is the rom u updated to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365047
you may find somthing on there to help. it says on there that the radio to use is 1.64.06.04 but if you alredi tried a 1.64 radio and it didnt work try the 1.65 as sugested. If you still have no luck then try a different rom that should fix the no sound issue straight away.
try duttys diamond rom with the 1.65.16.25 radio
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398271
download links are on the page. let us know how it goes.
I tried your suggestions, and althoughth 1.65 radio didn't work, I flashed Dutty's rom and everything is smooth sailing. Thanks SOOOOO much for working with me to figure this out, this really is a fantastic community!
Glad everything worked out for you my friend, everyone here is very helpful if you have any more problems just shout and someone will answer.
Hey everybody, problem is as follows:
Installation works without problems, and after disabling HTC Home it starts properly. Everything seems to work fine, but after a few minutes of navigation it crashes! Screen freezes and no input is possible. Only way to get out is a soft reset.
does anybody have an idea how to solve the issue? would be thankfull for every suggestion!
by the way, I use Dutty's latest ROM [Jun 07] (Dutty's Diamond V1 Build 19588)
greetings!
ok... it's even worse now!
i uninstalled and reinstalled IGO8. and now it doesn't even start up anymore. well it tries to. the starting screen shows up, and it starts processing. but at some point the whole device (kaiser) just collapses and starts up completely new!
please! someone tell me whats going on!
First: Search in rom tread
Secound: Post rom related question in rom tread (yes this is rom related)
This issue been discussed in about every new build tread since Duttys april 29 hybrid. You will find youre answer in V1 tread, and before you flip. Its normal, youre kaiser isnt dying
Just desactivate AGPS :
Edit the registry HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/
Set 0 to EnableAGPS key.
Restart your kaiser, relaunch IGO8 and enjoy
DrQ is half-right...
You also need to disable HTC-Home if you're under WM6.1 AFAIK.
thanks for your answers...
even though I'm quite new to all of this, I found out myself that aGPS and HTC have to be disabled. I did both, but the problem exists. that's why I posted.
raiisak, thanks for your comment! I think you're also talking bout the aGPS and HTC-home disabling "fix" ... cause I looked over the Dutty V1 thread more than once without finding an other post concerning this problem...
I guess I will just do what Dutty did: going back to his APR 29th build. That one was stable and everything worked without problems. also I share his opinion that 6.1 sucks.
regards!
No.. iGO8 crashes like *crazy* on my stock ATT Tilt (shipped ROM/Radio/etc). If it doesn't crash it locks it up and I have to poke the reset hole.
I'll try disabling AGPS to see if that helps.. I don't have HTC Home installed, although I did a while back.

AT&T Stock with Bloat? Cause th bloat really makes the Tilt suck.
As long as HTC Home isn't running. Igo and HTC Home share a file. But like twin brothers they don't share it well.
You need to dump dutty
I wasted hours of my life getting iGo8 to work with my Kaiser. Unfortunately it's a bigger problem than just uninstalling HTC Home (if you can) and disabling A-GPS.
In the end I dumped Dutty and flashed L26_Kaiser_Diamond_V8_light release by Laurentius26. This solved all the problems. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400118
Only thing that doesn't work with this ROM are custom keyboards (SIP), such as PCM Keyboard. Apart from that iGo8 works a treat

I run IGO8 with Dutty's Diamond V1 without problems (if I disable HTC Home, that is). The reboots have something with either the legality of your IGO8 release, or with the fact that you dumped to many POI files in the POI directory (i.e. all available countries). In Dutty's Hybrid V2 this was not an issue, and it must have something to do with memory management in the Diamond ROM.
@mb: different ROMs work best for different people, no need to be a fanboy.

As mentioned in this thread, AGPS fixes it. Very odd. iGO has some quirky bugs.. This one I would consider a MAJOR bug, but oh well.. Another bug I noticed (and is on their website in the FAQS) is that their timezone/system time from GPS functionality is hosed.. Always wind up with the time on the PDA being GMT. Have to fiddle to get it to set the time right then disable that functionality or disable it and fix it in WM.
Otherwise, it seems to work well enough.. Wish I had 3d/buildings here to look at, but otherwise the maps look pretty nice with parks and such outlined. Still looking into how to add my own POI's without some silly .net gui in Windows to do it.

Just to be pedantic; AGPS is a problem in WM6.0 as well. WM6.1 may require the additional step of disabling HTC Home.

No. IGO8 works with HTC Home in Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid V2. It really depends on the OS version in the specific ROM, be it WM6 or WM6.1.
Tried the rest and went back to the Best. Duttys April 29th Hybrid is staying on my tytn2 now . Dutty will be missed here.

I own the Vodafone version of the HTC Diamond:
Rom 1.37.161.2 WWE
Radio 1.00.25.03
The devise was working very well until I installed Diamond Tweaks and changed the Theme to HTC Black. The devise become very slow and completely unusable and it totally messed my custom city weather, which I can no longer manually select a new city due to "File write protection couldn't removed" error, even after reinstallation.
I have reset the theme to default and removed bloody Diamond tweaks but the devise still feels below par and Weather database still won't load.
I was was considering a hard reset but have a few questions:
Will the reset remove all my apps? (Advanced config, Gsen, Vodafone Satnav etc.)
Will it remove the Vodafone connection ssetting? (Is there a way I can back these up first?)
On another subject, I have been reading about the updated Official Rom's/Radio's and Hard SPL and to be fair don't understand any of it lol.
I would like to put the newest (best working) Rom/Radio on, especially if this meant it would debrand the phone but I would want to retain the Vodafone connection settings and I rather do like the Vodafone Satnav software and I fear this would disappear, is there some where i can download it separately? And is there a tutorial with exact instructions on how to update the Rom and Radio and back up setting?
Sorry for all the questions and I know some one will say search forum but I have read over 73 pages of forum data and didn't find what I want. Thanks in advance.
Welcome
But come on, not finding most of the things in 73 pages? If it removes your programms is stated in the MANUAL. You know that thing that everybody finds scary for some reason. And in the 73 pages you didn't find a link to modmydiamond or something like that? The vodafone setting i dont know. I have a unbranded one
As expected, some helpful advice, have seen Modmydiamond link no help for me and as for reading the manual, there isn't one, have Getting started guie, which does say see chapter 13 of user manual for Hard rest procedures and what it will actually do. But no hard copy or files on installation disc.
how much did you paid for it(if it's not a secret),because i plan to buy htc touch diamond.
is it slow?
how long baterry can handle?
Confusion !

To avoid any misunderstanding (you must be precise) : I think you are talking about Diamond TF3D Config wich is not the same as Diamond Tweak, another app.
Also, you should post it in the appropriate thread...
Thanks to correct that.
Got it free on Vodafone Upgrade, they did want to charge me £140 for it but have a friend who works at Voda and they told me to cancel my contract and wait till they phone me back and surely enough some guy phoned and offered it free to me.
@MonteCristoffOn apologies for putting in wrong place and yes your correct it is the Diamond TF3D Config that messed everything, oh and hello
you are really lucky htc for free!!!
and what about batterry and perfomanse??
Battery is not too good, doesn't last at all, goes to about half battery at the end of the day, would probably last longer if i stopped playing with it . Performance is quite good, once you put Advanced Config on it, which works really well.
Here's a hint:
Just make sure you delete EVERY manila theme file on your \windows directory.
Leaving any of them behind can make your device go bonkers. Happened to me too...
Perhaps your restore on the TF3D config didnt work well...
the problem is i dont understand what is manila theme
Manila is TouchFlo 3D. Please stay on topic.
Have completed re-set the phone now and it's working sweet again I hear that Vodafone are working on updated ROM themselves, which may be out later this year, so will apply there's when it's complete.
After actually having the Original Black Manila for a bit, I decided don't like it and the Voda version is clearer. So will stick that for the time being .
OT anyone know what the time interval is for the Weather updating when automatic update is set and if the value can be changed via reg hack or app?
vodafone knows how to make the HTC Diamond very slow
I went from 1.37 "Vodafone rom" to 1.93 NL without all the Vodafone stuff and now its really fast! I only had to reinstall Tomtom 7 as it was preinstalled on the Vodafone rom.
No problems left except for the battery. I just ordered a spare original battery (35€), problems solved.
(btw i bought it for 95€, 2year Vodafone, 18€ a month.)
Hello all... I seached for more than an hour, but unfortunately no answers found... I just have two questions, hopefully regarding registry tweaks:
- first of all, I would like to boost up (gain) my "headset" volume, as I want to connect my TyTN to the AUX-IN of my BMW. But the sound volume is SO low this way! Does anybody have a good registry tweak to "gain" the volume?
- secondly, for GPS tracking, I would like to know if it is possible to let the GPS running while the screen is switched off... THis will help me in saving batteries, in comparision with having the screen ON all the time, just for enabling (and maintaining) the GPS! I am going to need it to track our route on the highest mountain of Africa: The Kilimanjaro!
Thanks! Your help is SO much appreciated!
Roy.
Oops...
Hey Guys... a short update on this from my side: I tried a lot to get the two above questions functional by changing things in the registry, but still no luck. It even did end up in a hard reset...
Again, I tried to search for these two problems again, but still no luck .... peeps please help me with these issues. I know there are experts who know the answer by heart...
Hope to hear from you
Issue GPS tracking solved
Hi guys... after a very very long search, I have solved one of the issues. I found a small CAB file that is able to switch off the backlight WITHOUT having the GPS to go off. You can find it here: http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/
However, still no solution to gain the volume. All registry tweaks I have found on this forum do not work with a TyTN II! Last call: does anybody have a solution to boost the volume (preferably by a registry tweak) for the "headset output" that will be connected to my AUX of my Bimmer?
Thanks!
Roy.
can you be specific..as to what exactly have you tried with the registry ?
Hi, and thanks for your answer! Well, I have mostly looked in these threads:

Here I found these tweaks, but most are not applicable for a TyTN II, as I simply cannot find the registry keys or folders!
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds
HKEY_Local_Machine -> Software -> HTC -> Audiogain
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring:InitVol
But nothing works!! Who has the solution for the TyTN II? Thanks...

The last one on your list (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring:InitVol) should work cause i tried it myself..what value did you set for InitVol and Speaker...try something between 15-20. Under the SoundCategories section also edit the InitVol value for InCall and change it to 15.
Let me know if this works
Ok! But which one do I need then for the headset output that I connect to the AUX?
Ring? RSDPUnlock? Attenuatuion? IMOverride?
Thanks... I hope you can help me out!
well iam guessing here but the editing the speaker value under ring :Invol should do the trick...but iam not sure
Well... tried all that but nothing works to boost the headphone output...
Also found this suggestion... but also does not really seem to work!

It depends on your ROM version. In my case only second (for reminders) fix is applicable.
Hahaha. Polish HTC can't release the polish ROM version (in fact - WWE ROM with 3rd party localization, and they say bull**** about being tested in microsoft), so they are offering the sound hotfix instead.
edit: oh no, the update is worldwide! So congrats to HTC Poland for pasting the link into their website.
These fixes are not only on PL HTC pages, and I think there are not related with HTC Poland.
I hope some peeps here can make the audio fix work for all ROM's as it won't install on mine
doesn't install on mine either.....
Help
Downloaded the audio fix and when it went to restart, it got to the "Touch Diamond" screen and froze up. Tried three soft resets, did not work, even broke down and tried a hard reset still froze on that screen, tried hooking up to the computer and turning on the phone, same thing.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Fyi the touch diamond screen comes up then I see the gyrator info on the bottom of the screen then nothing, just stays there, going on a half hour now.
Says it's not compatible with my Diamond when I try to install to my official HTC 2.03 (swedish) rom... On the other hand I've never experienced the audio lag issue so maybe that explains it
guess its more a sloppy action from HTC, since the other hotfox works without a flaw.
Espeical since a user already made a cab that works with every rom.

And when a fix for the GPS?
i m using nataly 2.2 ROM, cannot install that fix a well.
