Hey Guys,
I am pretty much all set up. Thanks to all the help and information i was able to Flash it to Helimis Big Storage Dynamic version, added some programs. All works great. Only outstanding items:
E-mail -When i set up gmail pop connection it doesnt seem to connect to gather the messaages on 3g/Edge serivce. However, i did a test and turned on the wireless connection in the comm manager. As soon as i have done this Gmail POP3 works like a charm. As soon as i disconnect the problem persists. I have 39.99 3g data plan. Should the mail work through this data plan? or do i need to always switch to wireless in order to recieve mail? (HIGHly doubt it)
GPS- I have yet to put tomtom on, but i tried my google maps. It "worked" great at one point, I ran Quick GPS and it was able to triangulate my location (get a lock signal -7-8 satelaties), but now it doesnt work. I know i read somewhere not to mess with external GPS, but i switched to COM port 2 but i never un-checked the "auto-config GPS". Do you know what could be causing it not lock in onto my location now. I think it actually did work after i changed to COM2.
COMmanager - i updated my comm manager to duttythroy 10 button version. It has a 3g button to disable it since it drains a lot of battery power. However, how do i disable the GPRS/EDGE doesnt it drain power as well? i see in the Kaiser section there is also duttythroy_data_disconnection+_hspda-switch.cab (what will this exactly doo?)
Thanks all.
Other than these my TILT is amazing.. loving it.. Thanks to everyone who posted and helped.
Dmitriy
e-mail: Does web browsing work? If so, then you might have a server setup problem. If not, call AT&T's support and ask for the PDA help group.
GPS: In my case the GPS is COM4: and 4800 baud. You can set this in "Start", "Settings", "External GPS", then let Google use the "Use Windows Settings" checkbox.
COMmanager: Use Bandswitch instead. Works much better. Latest is 2.4.2, and much be purchased, but worth every penny. (30 day trial I think tho)

GPS: - do you put this under Program or Hardware tab? Or do i put com 4 port in both places
E-mail - internet works.. So i guess Server setup problem?
COMmanager- I just took a quick glance at Bandswitch. It seems that it can do everything that ComManager + Kaiser Tweak (kaiser can set time to termination of data connection. My question is.. in the com manager- you can terminate 3g, but GPRS turns on.. does GPRS drain battery? should there be another button to turn off GPRS too?
contact importer
Also anyone know whats a good contact importer. I have a CSV file with 138 entries similar to this one.
Type FirstName Last Name Mobile Home Office -1 IVAN Peters 16462366421
Email: For gmail, i put "recent:" in front of my email addy so it would be recent:[email protected] That should make it work.

I would love to know the answer to that one. I can only get Opera to run if I click the Java link, then copy/paste my links over. Quite tedious.
I would also like a 1-click way to start Opera....

download the opera mini and selector link...copy and save the opera mini link to windows/start menu/programs folder then copy the selector file to windows/Appdb folder then you'll be able to set the Interenet explorer button in button settings to opera...this is also assuming you are using jbed java midlet...i'm not sure if it works on other java midlet managers...cheers...

Opera issues
Hey guys, i dont know what happened, but now all the sudden when i use Opera EVERY link i click on i end up loosing Medianet connection and it trys to re-establish it. It ultimatelly suceeds and loads the page... but this does not happen with Internet Explorer (everything works fine there). I also have KaiserTweak set to disconnect internet after 1 min of inactive use.. but its definatelly not that.. since i am active during my "test" browsing period. (which i did)
Any ideas.. i mean ITS Extremelly SLOW (sometimes 4 attempts to re-establish connection) and annoying.. It is also weird that it does actually make the 3g connection but then it breaks for no reason (tested in various locations)
Thanks for previous help - all those problems been solved - Except linking opera to all links (i click on) -> I am reading the trade posted in this thread about it.
- Question though.. i dont need to place a link into windows folder i guess since when i click explorer softkey it automatically opens Java Midlet. Or do i still need to perform that step?

I'm not sure whats causing your disconnect i never have that issue...but about your question...with the opera shortcut in your start menu it skips the step of opening your midlet manager then clicking on opera...then when you put that selector file in your windows folder its never asks for permission to remember your session and whatnot...it just goes straight to the home page in opera...

Thanks. I will try that.. Would be much better.
Anyone can help me as far as the constant disconnects?
OK, this method was tried with a WVC54GC v1.1 with firmware V1.21.
We will have to see if video stream is same for earlier versions!!
Have TCPMP installed. (latest version)
Connect your WVC54GC cam to your network with open view access in setup (that is NO PASSWORDS) for basic view, not tried peer to peer yet cause its late and kn..tired).
Make a WiFi connection from your phone to the same network.
Open TCPMP, select 'File' 'Open file' and type into the top field http://the.cam.ip.add/img/video.asf where 'the.cam.ip.add' is the network address of the camera (of course )
I saved my links in a directory called Cam Links (as 'whatever.cam instaed of .txt) using Activesync then used Resco explorer to link them to a TCPMP ( IE open these with!!) upload for automatic viewing!
Hope it works but expecting lots of queries...
OH BTW, there is about a 10 second delay on my setup but HEY, who cares cause the vid quality is great?
One other thing...
Make sure you hit the pause button before you shut down TCPMP as it tries to open the camera on next load.
OK, here is a method to connect it peer-to-peer (direct connect with no hub)
Get it up and working as in the first method.
Change your camera wireless settings (New SSID, fixed IP (Ex 192.168.1.115 subnet 255.255.255.0) and Ad-Hoc (peer to peer).
You will have to also edit the security settings for wireless as this camera can only use WEP in Ad hoc.
Select 128bit encryption and enter a 5 character passphrase, hit generate and make a note of this long hex string and select shared key.
On your phone, go to 'Settings' 'Connections' 'WiFi' and on the Network adapters tab, select WiFi and set for 'Use specific IP address and enter something close to your camera (Ex 192.168.1.110 subnet 255.255.255.0) click OK, then under the Wireless Tab 'Networks to access' select 'Only computer to computer' you should then see your camera.
Click connect and enter the hex string you made a note of from the camera encryption, be sure to select 'Shared' and it should connect.
Follow the instructions for TCPMP as in first post and you should have a fully portable WiFi camera (apart from the mains adapter!) to take around with you.
If you need to go back to Standard WiFi use, you only have to re-select 'All available' under Networks to use and under Network adapters re-select 'Use server assigned IP'
Enjoy.
This method should work for all Linksys cameras and just about any camera if you can identify the jpeg or mjpeg video output stream (ie. http://the.cam.ip.add/img/video.asf in first post)
Anyone tried this yet?
it works for me
It work for me. i use orb too.
Can someone please talk me through installing and setting-up blackberry connect for BIS (Thats if it is possible to use it under BIS). I can't for the life of me manage to do it.
I'm in desperate need! Help!
Cheers
I will make a donation to anyone who can solve this ASAP, as it is quite urgent.
Cheers
Alright dude, this info is all over the place, but I'm gonna help you anyways.
BBC will work with BIS, I've been using it for two years.
It works better with some roms than others, & some I have found not at all.
There are several important steps in getting it to work.
First, BBC is an important app for those that use it. Nothing more important than getting my business emails. Follw these steps & let me know.
1. BBC is AKU & device specific for certain carriers. As such BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT, open your registry editor & make the following change:
Navigate to HKLM/System/Version/AKU. Change the value of the AKU key to DWORD of 0.4.4
2. Use KaiserTweak & set your user agent string to your device. For me that is an AT&T Tilt, so mine gets changed from TYTN_II to HTC-8900.
3. Use Connection Settup to make sure device is provisioned for the correct connection, i.e Medianet...
4. Soft Reset Device.
5. Install BBC. After installed, go to setting, system, BBC. It will set everything up & soft reset device again automatically.
6. Make sure you have downloaded the BBC desktop software from here: http://www.america.htc.com/connect/Tilt
It must be installed on a PC connected to you work network, with access to your outlook & BIS server.
5. Open the BBC settings menu via the tray app tab on the today screen or via setting, system, bbc. Once open, select Utility, then push the "register with Network" button.
6. You should recieve a message in you "System" messaging box stating "The device has been registered with the network". Once you recieve this message, connect device to PC, Open the BBC setting again then go into your PC & open the BBC Desktop Connect software. Select "Configure my wireless device". Once done it will tell you provisioning was successful. Now you are done.
Otherwise you will have to ensure that you are setup & that IT has issued you a authentication password & do it using the Activation menu in the BBC app on your device. But it is much easier doing it from a networked PC with the desktop connect tool.
ALSO, make sure you installed BBC to your device. Do not install to SD Card.
Kaiser - Blackberry Connect Activation
HI,
I followed your instruction and then got everything working "apparently".
But noway to send nor to recieved over wireless.
I already wrote this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417568
Is the registery modification mandatory on Kaiser ? is it specific to the operator
Can it be done now or I have to desinstall and reinstall BBC ?
Thanks a lot.

...Found some strange bug with my TyTn2 (WM 6.1 21042)
Device can't resolve any hostnames anymore
I don't know how it happened, but now i have working only Opera Mini
(that i install right after reFlash, and that works throu it's own server, and query it with IP,but not the hostname)
Weather update not working, Quick GPS can't get update (only with AS connected), can't download any file from NET....
I installed TaskManagerEx , and try to use it builtin func. to test DNS
(Ping + DNS lookup) but it says "ErrorCode: 10022".
SKtools cant resolve hostnames too... "Invalid target" - only that it says...
I searched all across registry, but can't find anything , that might couse this problem
Maybe someone know what can fix this problem,'cause i really don't want to do HR?
I have the tilt with AT&T. I just installed M2D. Everything works except the internet browser. When I scroll over to internet and try to launch the browser nothing happens. The internet will work if I launch the browser either through the start menu or the soft keys. Any ideas ? ( sky fire is my default browser )
Is Opera installed? Because I've only ever been able to use Opera from M2D.

No I don't have Opera installed. I only have internet explorer and skyfire
Stylez, thanks for the feedback. I went to the internet tab and it shows " all bookmarks " in the lower left corner and " browser " in the lower right corner, but when I try to click on either one it doesn't do anything. I'm guessing that the " browser " is supposed to bring up a menu to choose the exe that you want to use ? I tried to uninstall M2D and reinstall it and still same issue
Thanks Stylez. My bad. I didn't have M2DC installed. You was on the money . I found the setting and got the internet tab working. Big Props.!! thanks again
Otherwise try copying skyfire.exe to windows folder and rename it to operal.exe.
