Routing ringtones to bluetooth - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Any software that can play ringtones through my headset? This would be very useful at work when I want to know who is calling without looking at my phone.

IIRC the feature is headset dependent.

Using bluetooth headset to hear media

hi,

Listening to media files on BT headset
If you are using a simple mono BT set of the type attached to one ear, the answer is usually no, you can't. You need a stereo BT headset (Jabra BT620 or similiar from HP, Nokia etc.) supporting the Advanced Audio protocol A2DP. Then you can listen to music and when receiving incoming calls, the music will mute until the call is finished. Works perfectly on the Trinity.

Zigo
It can be done
See here

thank you. i will try and read this info.
Can someone please answer this
I have read everywhere and see people make apps for some weird things, but still do not see an answer on how to Get a MONO headset to work with WM6 on a trinity. Who has it working and which of the hundreds of bluetooth apps r u using? Video mostly and gps application for headset.

More background? What would be the source and what would be the listening device? If you want to listen to music on the Dream with bluetooth headsets, then yes of course you can. Pair the devices, turn your headset on and press play in whatever music app you want to use.
the source is the g1 the BT is a generic bt I hit play after pairing and it plays out of the phone speaker.

Is it a stereo bluetooth headset (i.e. it has A2DP support)? P sure audio sources will only route to A2DP devices. Could be mistaken though.

That's still actually just a telephone call. Actual mp3s playing on a phone will be treated as media audio (as opposed to phone audio) by the Android system.

[Q] using bluetooth headphones/ video

Hey all,
I have HD7 and listen to music when travelling, everything works fine. But just recently I attempted to watch a film and the sound will not play through the Bluetooth headphones, it transfers the sound to the speakers? Anyone know how to change this at all??

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

Hello, do you have the possibility to call a contact with the voice ( voice dialing) by the headset like on the HD1 ( and not on the HD2) ?
Thanks

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

Thank you, goood news because the HD2's bluetooth stack wasn't able to hear the voice dialing by the blutooth headset , and it only works only by the HD2's microphone.
Thank you

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.

Sound through BT?

Just want to confirm if this is "normal": When in music player, I want to listen on my BT headset....however it doesn't "see" my jawbone...it does, however, "see" my Moto S9 headset, and works fine-no problem, since who would listen to music on a BT supposed to be used for phone use. But, when in navigation for example, with my jawbone connected, the sound of the turn by turn only comes out of the phone speaker. I would expect that it would be heard in my BT? Or does A2DP only work with headsets designed to listen to music or something? A little confusing...
Anybody weigh in on this?

Which Jawbone do you have? Only the new ICON supports A2DP. My older Jawbone II did not and would not work when playing media. With my new ICON all of the sounds come out the headset.
I have the Icon

You may need up update the firmware in your ICON to support A2DP. The earlier ones did not have that support included. It is pretty easy to do, just go the their support sight. One word of caution, their update web page will not work with Firefox and noscript enabled. You will need to use IE or temporally disable noscript.

[Q] Captivate ringtones over bluetooth earpiece

Is it a hardware or software issue that I can not hear ringtones over my Samsung A2DP capable earpiece?

I thinks its related to bluetooth hardware...I am not sure...I use blutooth stereo headphones and I can hear notification ringtones but when there is only one default ringtone for calls....
Even my roomies Moto Atrix do same for his bluetooth stereo headphines
My previous smart phone was a AT&T Motorola Q9h. It would play the ringtones over the handset until the bluetooth earpiece was connected then the ringtone would play over it and not the handset. I wish the Captivate would function this way.

The main issue is that the bt stact Samsung uses is crap. I also had a Q9h and loved it but for now this is the best we can do. IT will work if you are using sterio BT headphones but will not work on single ear
