hello guys, i hope someone out there can help me
I got an HTC Touch Diamond from my friend, he gave it to me and told me that it didnt work for several weeks, and that he wants to get rid of it and sold it to me for some bucks.
It never fell down, is in great physical condition etc, so i thought the problem has to be due to the rom/software.
the device behaves really strange.
- Sometimes, when i turn it on, the screen keeps black, but the rom loads, and when it's loaded, it shows the homescreen, but without backlight.
- Sometimes, after this happens, i try to do a hard-reset (voldown, center, reset) but this doesnt work at all! I know how a hard reset works and how it looks like, but it wont work on this device
- Sometimes, everything works well, the device loads his content, the backlight is on and i can flow through the tabs. That's the point when i try to flash the rom. But i cannot manage a proper active-sync connection.
When i plug it on my pc, the device manager appears (vista) and tries to sync etc.
syncing works, but the connection only last for a few minutes (3 to 5) then it shuts the conection down.
also i should say that the light of the keypad behaves very strange too. Sometimes, there is no light at all, even not when the device is off and plugged in for charging. sometimes, all 4 buttons are lighting, but the center is not. and the last case was, that only the phone-button (left down corner) was lighting, screen was black.
I really dont know what to do. I cannot manage to do a hard reset, it just doesnt work. I push the voldown and the center button, then push the reset....but the display doesnt show me what i want to see (the white screen with the warning message...)
Also, when i try to format the internal memory in the options, the phone can't do it, the rom freezes and the touchscreen doesnt work anymore.
Also updating the rom/hardspl and radio wont work right now, because i cant manage to get a connection with my pc that last long enough
Please help guys! :'( Thanks in advance!
I think you can flash the rom from the Internal Storage. Try to search for it on the ROM section. In this way you won't be dependant on the active sync connection. The only problem with this is getting it on your internal storage in the first place. You could disable the active sync and use the other option (device drive or something like that).
hi you should try this... it works for me. the problem is not the same but i think it may work for you to

I have buy used xperia x1 with WM 6.1 and when i turn on on the screen appeared one MSG autorun.exe with red X but after 1 week, phone is restarting every 3 seconds so i dont know what should i do with it, this is my 1st phone with WM.
Ive read lot of post iee find nothing....
thanks in advance for help...
try removing the microsd card. then turn the x1 on.
if it works, delete the 2577 folder from the microsd card using your pc.
x1 restarted every 3 second
i dont have micro sd card...
Turn off your X1 (take the battery out for a second to make sure it is off). Lay it on a table. Press the two silver buttons left and right below the screen with one hand and keep them pressed. With the other hand, turn the phone on, but keep the other two buttons pressed for some seconds.
Now you will see a grey screen with blue text. Follow the instructions (press R on the keyboard) and try if it works now.
All your personal data will be erased in this process, but you said you just bought the phone so that will not be a problem.
are you sure you don't have a microSD Card ?
most x1 comes with one
it's you have to open to the battery to find it
if you got a dir in root called Storage Card thats mean you got a sdcard
hey
pyth27 and ruedagar,
thnx for your help, ive flash the phone with sd of my x1 before you typed that procedure for repair so thnx anyway i will try another time, and ruedagar ive bought a used one xperia and doesnt have a sd card so i used one just for flashing and everything is working perfect....
I'm running a custom firmware on my G1 (don't know which one at this moment, I'll post it when I know) but it failes to start my phone.
This is what I did:
Ik took my sim-card out of the phone and placed it in another phone. After half an hour I placed the sim back into the G1. I placed the battery but forgot to turn the phone on. After about 30 minutes I started the phone, everything seems to work fine. The android logo appears and "moved" and when it dissapeared I only got a black screen but further nothing. The backlight seems te be on and the four buttons on the bottom are "on".
I tried with no sim-card, on the charger, another sim-card, without a micro-sd card. But everytime the same problem appears. It goes well until the android logo should dissapear and the phone should start to display the OS.
Can anyone please help me, there are some important information on it what I need to save (sms and a list made with a yellow-paper/notes kind of program)
Wipe everything
and flash a new ROM
This is my first time installing a rom on my Htc vogue from sprint I run "Haret" it goes to the black Linux screen then gets stuck at "attempted to kill init" then says rebooting in 3 seconds but doesn't reboot.
I tried the unlocker and things like that.
If it helps I do not have service on my phone right now (not sure if that has anything to do with the problem)
Also after the unlocker finished and such my lock button no longer works well locks or fall asleep then I cannot "wake it up" without taking out the battery and starting all over again.
Thanks for viewing I really hope you can help me.=[
ps, this is also the first time I ever owned a wm device lol..
-Abyy
-sigh- I just tried the "NAND" method and got stuck at the linux boot screen again so I held the power button and camera button and used the sylus thing and now im stuck and the three colored screen thing..
I really need you guys help =[

extract it to your computer then...
while on the 3 color screen connect your phone to your computer and it should say "usb" at the bottom.
now the folder you extracted open it and double click the ruu file. agree to everything and it will install windows.(that was a random windows rom) this is just to get your phone working
All figured out! Thanks a lot android runs wonderfully.<3
Hi guys yesterday i manage to remove the sdcard from my phone cause i was having trouble with the device having it get stuck on the htc green letters white screen and i saw that if you remove the sdcard your phone would work, so that's what i did, but now my phone doesnt do anything, when a press the power button the phone vibrates but the screen stays black and you can see a little light on the device but nothing more, and when i put back the sdcard on the phone, it gets very hot.

To me, it seems you may have knocked something lose inside. Did you hear a clicking sound, when you inserted the SD card? If not, you may have not fully inserted the SD card.
