Buying from UK, which store?

Hi,
I want to buy the Kaiser from UK to the NL.
Anyone can recommend me a good online store that does not need complicated process?
I dont like when they ask me to make a copy and fax a whole lot of documents (passport, credit card, electricity bill, birth certificate, and whatnot!).
PS: No expansys.* please.
PSS: or if anyone know NL online store that has Kaiser in stock now? (I searched but found none).
Thanks!
Hey,
I've ordered mine with www.devicewire.co.uk to Belgium.
Spoke with a guy named Richard, he is very prompt to help me.
Paid with an international Credit Card, had to show my passport and that's it.
The device Arrived today already VIA Ups.
Have fun,
NADAVI.
Hmm, I went to their purchase page, but the online form only has UK as the country destination.
Did you fill in the order online?

Yes, I closed a deal with clove. Nice people there!
I have to buy this phone pretty quick (my Universal has literally died today)
Should i swallow the £470, or do you think i might be able to get it cheaper if i buy it from the US? (i have friends who can send it over, so i can avoid import tax)
SOOOOOOOOOOO want this phone, screw the Omni
I recommend Clove. Ordered mine this morning (Wednesday) to ship to Florida. It was probably 2pm UK time. It was in DHL's hands within 2 1/2 hours and I expect to receive it Friday. They generally ship same day. Bought my TyTN from them last year, I also received it in 2 days. Very fast and friendly service.
bersca did u need to give them any special info or just norm CC and add? like did they need passport ect. also are you having to pay import fees at all? Im in CA and was looking at ordering it from them but if I need passport and other crap might just get the ATT one when it comes out or ebay one.
Here's a site in Holland.

You have 2 options:
1. give the authorization code of the transaction
OR
2. give copy of certain documents (e.g. cc statement, etc.).
for option 1, call your cc service, and ask about your transaction with Clove. Then ask what is the authorization code for this transaction. The cc service should inform you a number.
Then call Clove, inform that number.
Done
no need to copy and send any document!

Loving the phone so far!

TomTom Maps Got One Now What?

So I have gotten my one free TomTom map and now I need some more maps. The only option seems to be purchasing the full $149 DVD version by mail? That is terrible, they should make city maps available for purchase and download at a reasonable price, like $10.00 per city or something. So is my only option to spend $149 and wait for them to ship me a DVD?
I just ordered, from Amazon, the US & Canada DVD for $92 plus shipping. Mind you it's used, but it's rated at very good by the seller who is an Amazon subsidiary. Unless the DVD is scratched, it should work fine. I'll take my chances and see.
That's another option for you.
Where did you guys get the software for TomTom? I looked on Amazon and it was $143 for the software plus maps.
He mentioned that he got it used from Amazon. If you look at product pages many times they also list sellers selling used items as well for various one-off prices.

I guess I was speaking more specifically regrading this post "gotten my one free TomTom map" -- I just wondered where they even got the one free map? It seems to insinuate that they got the software for free???

The kaiser comes with an applications CD with a 'taster' version of TomTom 6. Taster means a full version of the software and the right to download one city map. The other maps you have to pay for. They can be downloaded from the TomTom site. Some have reported that it is easy. I made a trial run - not having yet received my kaiser - and I found it to be doable but not staightforward.
I'll have to find out why I don't have my CD - thanks

Check out the unboxing video if you haven't already seen it.
http://mobilitysite.com/2007/09/htc-kaisertytn-ii-video-unboxing/
It shows all of the things that come in the 'official' retail package. Ours should all be like this one as as far as I can tell they are all coming from the UK right now.
I should be getting mine on Thursday and it is a wonder i have any fingernails or hair left ;-)
Maps only DVD
Guys, here's a link to maps only DVD on Amazon.
Hope this is what you're looking for.

WizCode bad company?

I thought this would be of some interest to many of use who rely on purchasing programs from some companies.
To date, I have sent no less than 3 e-mails to WizCode for my registration number for their program: Pocket Mechanic. And to date, they have not responded. Anyone else have any experience with this company? This was a direct purchase from WizCode.

HTC Diamond from Expansys

I got my Diamond delivered yesterday from Expansys, the unit arrived almost a week early which was fantastic, however it appears Expansys are selling grey imports, see: http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=110164
a. What is a grey import?
b. Why does the HTC website not acknowledge the serial number?
c. Should I sent the unit back and wait until the 'UK Official Stock' arrives?
Thanks.
A grey import, to my knowledge, means that its not the white (i.e legal) market, but not the black (i.e. illegal) market, but inbetween. So, was imported legally, but youre not meant to sell it to UK residents. Which in this case means no UK warranty and as you have seen, a serial not recognised by HTC UK's website.
As other people have suggested, wait until the other stores are shipping real UK stock, i.e devicewire, clove etc, and then call them and complain, that way, you dont have to wait until they get official stock in.
Rory
a. Rory's right. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_market
"The grey market is the trade of something legal through unofficial, unauthorized, unintended distribution channels."
So basically, they're importing the Touch Diamond and selling it before they should. Nothing particularly illegal, but HTC are going to be really angry with Expansys.
b. I have no idea. Perhaps you could get in contact with HTC and see what they say you should do.
c. I would refer you to my answer for b.
If your in the UK you're covered by distance selling regulations. You can send it back within 7 days
http://www.oft.gov.uk/advice_and_resources/resource_base/legal/distance-selling-regulations/
Also you are perfectly entitled to send it back because it is not as described - which of course its not if its a grey import.
If expansys give you grief you can use trading standards, or even have your credit card company retract the payment and deal with it for you
Expansys usually tell you all the details of each handset before you buy it such as language and warranty coverage, depending on which Expansys site you are ordering from (I've found alarming price differences for the same Touch Diamond depending on where you order it from) so you need to strike a balance assuming you have no import restrictions.
I just realised something... Remember when Lik-Sang imported PSP's to the UK and Europe, and even to the SCEE President, and Sony sued them at the High court and got them closed down, stating that the power adapters weren't safe, could HTC do the same? Would serve Expansys right for
A) misleading and
B) overpricing.
Rory
I dont get this guys, HTC.com are partners with Expansys, and HTC are selling direct online through Expansys.
HTC´s online store;
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc.aspx
Powered by Expansys!
If you can register the Diamond on HTC's website then I figure it is ok and the warranty stands. However, if you cannot then I would be starting to think about returning it and asking Expansys to pick up all related costs...

Uk shipping to india - advice please

Hi
I need to ship an item (Touch HD) to India but don't know where to start with regards looking for a shipper.
Has anyone else advice they can share?
Thanks
Andrew
I bought a Tilt from USA, it was shipped through USPS to Pakistan via priority mail international and reached here on 15th day.
so you use the Royal post or something similar.
DHL or FedEx should not take more than a week! 15 days is too much..
Some known intl couriers like DHL, Fedex would do the needful, if you are careful about money go for Royal shipping. BTW which state you want to ship to. You should be careful about the state as it depends on that as well how much time is that gonna take. Good Luck.
I'm pretty certain Royal Mail won't insure mobile phones sent abroad, certainly to India anyway.
Do be very careful on choice of carrier, and insure that they do specifically cover postage of Mobile phones as many do exclude them.
Also, if your taking payment by paypal, ensure it can be electronically tracked as you'll need electronic proof of delivery in the event that the buyer claims non-receipt.
*Thread moved*
The market place is for selling / buying and trading only.
Advice will have to be sought in the off-topic forum.
Thanks
Dave
OK Thanks Dave, and thanks guys for your suggestions too
