Spritr Backup 6.xx.x? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

can anyone supply a copy of sprite backup?
i flashed my first rom today (i have a fuze) and i lost my sprite backup 6.xx.x
can someone provide? thanks =]

Same boat here. I found a copy but it doesn't have all the same features that the default one had. It will create a backup but it doesn't give me options of what I want to backup or where I want to save the file.
I would really like my old version back but the new ROM is much nicer than the factory one.

Yea I found myself in the same situation. Da_G has posted Sprite Backup from the stock ROM in his Clean Fuze thread, it's bolded in the list on the first post:

Upgrading to NBD 9.0, need to backup contacts

hello all!
Im upgrading to nbd 8.0 today and Ive backed up my pda with spb and spirte. my question to you all is, I need to backup my contacts and all that jazz for the upgrade. what's a good pim backup that will restore after a rom upgrade?
EDIT: I apologize about the title, I submitted without reviewing and had a typo in the title, which I cannot correct. thank you
Thank you all,
Flip
ps. contacts and sms, tasks/appt are the only things I wanna restore on the new rom
First, the title of the thread says NBD 9.0 which doesn't exist. it might not be a big deal but may lead some to read this thread by mistake (maybe that's what you want )
Second, doing a little search wouldn't hurt. http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=4015233 i just used two words (PIM* AND backup)
It's called "PIM Backup" by dotfred (v2.5 by now) and it can be considered a standard application as most cooks include it in their ROMs. It's filled with options, scheduling, etc...

LMAO the title I didnt do on purpose it was an honest mistake.
as for pim backup, I knwo there are plenty and plenty of apps that do pim backup out there. my question really is, can I restore it on nbd 8.0 even though I will no longer be on the official 2m5 cingular rom and all?
Thank you very much
No! Don't use backup programs to backup PIM from WM5 to WM6 (At least for SPB Backup), it doesn't work and the contacts will not show correctly in WM6.
You should use PIM Backup or ActiveSync+Outlook.

BackupTool

What is Installer_Kaiser_BackupTool_5.1.0.b1450_HTC_WWE_20070710.exe ?
I found it in the Application CD ...
Anyone has installed it?
SpiteBackup - works quite well....
R
Then, what is this SpriteBackupEnglishPersonalSetup.exe ?
I found that in the Application CD as well.
That's why I confuse.

from what i can tell they are both the same. i installed sprite, then decided to see wha the backup tool was about so i went to install it. it said sprite backup was already installed and asked to remove it in order to install the backup tool. therefore thay are both the same thing
Is one of them not the Sprite application that runs on your desktop, i.e to schedule backups and the like?
Is it the latest full version of Sprite Backup? v6.x and allows backup to remote desktops, etc?
I think it is full version, but not sure about features ...
Looks like nobody has installed it.
I installed sprite and when I tried to instal the HTC backup the installer asked if I was modifying or uninstaling sprite so I decided they were the same and closed it.
PS in the about menu when u launch sprite on the PPC it says its the authorized HTC version.
The Sprite version is the complete version including the pc agent version 2.0.0.791.
Indeed,
I went installed SpriteBackupEnglishPersonalSetup.exe because it has bigger filesize So, I thought it is more complete
It is working very well and has PC agent (initiate the backup process from PC).
SpriteBackupEnglishPersonalSetup.exe contains the PC app and the PPC "Sprite Backup" app version 5.1.0 Build 1449. Installer_Kaiser_BackupTool_5.1.0.b1450_HTC_WWE_20070710.exe contains only the PPC app, version 5.1.0 Build 1450. Both apps are the "HTC Edition".
So I'd install SpriteBackupEnglishPersonalSetup.exe first, then Installer_Kaiser_BackupTool_5.1.0.b1450_HTC_WWE_20070710.exe to install the updated PPC app.
Good finding, let us know if it works fine.

sprite backup
anyone know where i can find a copy of sprite backup? i have changed roms from at&t tilt to orginial htc. as a result i no longer have sprite backup. another thought, if i could find a copy of the oem htc disc it would be even better!
******
i now see that sprite backup is a stand-a-lone product. i was under the impression that it came with the kaiser.
Did u find Sprite backup?

TomX2.. did you find the Sprite Backup that was included with the Tilt? I have the same need as I flashed one of the custom roms and need Sprite back but couldn't find it anywhere on the forums yet. Unless I wasn't searching hard enough.
Any luck?
aj,
when i posted i was under the impression that sprite was a product that came with or was developed for the kaiser. i since have found out that it is a stand-a-lone product. my ignorance, sorry. as for the product, i've used the demo and it seems to be quite nice. maybe a call to at&t explaining that you lost sprite might be of help?

Need help with file locaton on tilt for my contacts

I just upgraded my OS to wm6.5. Before I did this I did backup my phone with Sprite Backup. I have the file and now that I I need to restore my data it will not let me due to a new OS being installed. I have gotten most of my files that I need back on my New OS but I am having trouble getting my contacts back. I was thinking that I could get my file from my old backup and over write the new one.
So, I need to know where/or name of the file that has my contacts on it (wm6.1) . Thanks guys.

The file is " pim " file explorer/my device/ pim. But you can't restore from the pim file itself and since sprite backup is not compatible with 6.5, you may have to go back to 6.1 backup your contacts with PPC Pim Backup and then reflash 6.5 and then restore your contacts using Pim Backup restore.
Thanks
Thanks for your help.
i will trade my Tytn2 for a HD2 today
Can i just copy the PIM-file from my Tytn and put it into my HD2 later then my contacts will be transfered?.
would be very thankful for a quick answer.
Thanks

Looking for a BU/Restore app that will do a "true restore".

Yes, I searched and couldn't find an answer.
This is what I'd like to do:
1) Back up everything on my phone.
2) Flash and play with different ROMs
3) Flash back the original ROM.
4) Restore the system to what it was..file by file EXACTLY what it was.
Now, before you say "SPB Backup", I'm using that. It works very nicely but it doesn't do a "true restore". It only adds new files and overwrites updated files. It doesn't delete files that aren't in the backup image. So SPB isn't quite what I need.
I wish to find a BU/Restore app that will put the system back *exactly* the way it was. Add new files, overwrite updated files and delete files that aren't in the backup image. IE: A "true restore".
Thanks
I don't think any backup utility will erase files for you; you need to do it yourself. If you want something automated, it's pretty easy to write a set of mortscripts that will delete all of the crap you want to get rid of regularly. It would probably take you an hour or two to get a script that would deleted a hundred or so files.

There is indeed a way to do this and as you said SPB Backup won't do it.
If you want to stick with SPB - then there is SPB Clone.
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/clone/
There is another one that came out recently Sprite Clone
http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/sprite-clone
I've used SPB Clone quite a bit in the past and it's always worked great. I have Sprite Clone but I haven't tried using it yet (no need at this time) - but this one might actually be better because it supports wm 6.5 and I don't think the other does yet.
There is a trial version of the Sprite Clone one here: http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/clone/clone-trial-request
and a trail version of the SPB clone one here:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/clone/download.html
So that's the good news. The bad news is how much it costs - yer lookin at 300 bucks.
I use SPB Backup but just hard reset the phone before using the standalone restorer.
You know, you should try out sk tools backup (comes with sk tools). I've used it a few times recently, and it will remove files that weren't present during the original backup procedure. I've seen it remove links in the startup folder and also remove files from the root of the storage system. I'd say it's pretty close to what you want, and you may already have it.

I will second the motion for SK Tools Backup. Once you make a backup file it copies an exe to the same folder for restoration purposes. When you need to do a full restore, hard reset your device and run the backup program that was created along with the backup file. It sets EVERYTHING back to the way things were.

[Q] Full ROM Backup

Hi all!
How can I do a full backup of my current Xperia X1 Windows Mobile ROM?
Why am I asking:
Want to make a FULL backup with my installed progs, written mesages, settings and everything, then install NANDroid, play with it a while, and then restore WinMo backup as it was.
Is it possible somehow? Maybe, via some freaked Chinese program?)
I use sprite backup, it works.
You do a complete backup with it, install and play with android, than when you want to get back, you just have to install the same version of the rom you had before, than you restore the backup completely.
I used it twice, and my phone was just as it was before switching to android.
Fast and clear answer!

It seems exactly what I need.
But if this will break my phone - I'll find you and will be feeding you with ice-creams until you explode))

Anyway I'm suggesting u to use SPB Backup instead Sprite Backup. It was my old experiment when I used Dopod 900 that come with a CD of Sprite Backup. Then I compared it with SPB Backup. I feel SPB Backup is more eye catching, faster and easier operational. If you need it, I can share it via PM because I'm not sure if sharing software like that is prohibited.

Well.. I think, I'll try them both. And I'll try SKTools Backup also!
I used Sprite Backup already and it gave me 180Mb-sized file of my internal memory. With SpriteExplorer I have looked into that backup - it contains pretty everything I got in my phone. SKTools Backup made 280MB file - pretty big, bigger than previous program..) I've got SPB Backup, thanks! Will try it in an hour!
