Guys
Please tell me what do you think is the best software for Touch Pro:
a) UNIT CONVERSATION (such as temparature, volume, weight, length, speed etc)
b) Stopwatch
c) Counter Timer
Is there also a program which will let me see Euro / US Dollar exchange rates all the time ?
thanks

Spb has some software that can do this. Only thing is that it's not free.
Spb Traveler could at least help you out with conversion part.
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/traveler/?en
i use
1. Handy Converter (currency, temp, length, weight, area, volume, speed, power, clothing size and torque convertor)
2. Stopwatch by Kaldma
no countdown but it looks very nice, up to 10 split times and has vibration feedback

that was really funny.....(let me google it for you)...!!!!
Stopwatch / Countown timer with laps can be found in SPB Time
Unit converter also in SPB Traveler, I think HiCalc also has unit converting ...
also for unit/currency converting you can use google just query for: 1kg in lbs or 1eur in usd and you should get your result

+1 for the google idea for most conversions. It also works great for calculations that go beyond what a simple calc program allows.
For the stopwatch, try to find SMAC_Stopwatch8_1.5 which is a very simple count up/count down stopwatch program that will track many different timers at once. And, it's free.
Try MSS Converter which is freeware http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-mss-converter-v1-02.html
and WorldMate Live (Free version and subscription version are available) http://www.mobimate.com/
Thanks for the replies

Sure there are plenty of "cab corners" but they usually have a bunch of crap with 4shared fancy-boy GUIs or Rapidshare links that just piss me off. So I made my own collection on my own server with my own bandwidth with no wussy interface, just a straight up directory listing courtesy of my Apache server. Do yourself a favor and go here: blownfuze.org
As of now I have the following files up, not all of which are cabs, and a couple of which are shareware but still rule. As time passes, the odds that the version of a given program I'm serving being outdated increases. If I put up any files that break the author's redistribution wishes, I'm sorry, so advise and I'll yank it right quick. I don't know what kind of bandwidth this will cost me but if I have to take it down because there's too much traffic I apologize in advance. So, the files as of 10/30/08:
ArialBettery2 (adds battery meter skin onto your start button)
BatteryStatusExt_Setup (Today info on cpu drain, temp, power drain)
BeeLineGPS (Nagware but best offline GPS program ever)
CABviaActiveSync-1.5 (right click cabs on desktop to install)
COLOR 3g 10 Button Comm Mgr
CyberionVoiceSD for WM6 v 1.2 BT FIX
DopeWars (best game ever)
duttythroy Disable xt9
FlexMail 4.01 (maybe overbloated but it's got imap idle - shareware)
GPS Test (jump start your GPS connection)
KaiserTweak v0.41
KD8DNS KEYPAD VIBRATE (heptatic feedback or whatever you call it)
Minimal Dialer Letters 1.3 (nice simple dialer skin with big numbers)
MortPlayer-3.31b69 (best mp3 player I've seen, appreciate the preamp)
MyMobile123_06152008 (lets you VNC to your phone, exe)
Opera build 1409 (I like it because in mobile view it keeps the view tight).
PPCPimBackup (essential utility esp if you're flashing roms)
PocketIRC (share/nagware but very handy, well programmed)
pRSSreader versions 1.4.2 and 1.3.4 which I like better but crashes more.
pocket putty (telnet, ssh client)
RR Keyboard Speed Increase (not sure if it works but sounds nice)
SeaSGEE (supposed to be much better that GPSQuick)
SiriusWM5 (Sirius Satellite Radio over Internet client (subscription required)
sp timesync (get your time synced to ATOMIC CLOCKS, *****es)
tcpwp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab and WM5_WMV9_Codecs.zip
Tilt keyboard fix
TodayAgenda v1.5 (God-like calendar/task manager for today screen)
TrackMe (for you geocaching nuts)
VAlert1.14 (customize your vibration patterns)
WkTaskL (like vBar but better)
That's enough for now. If you want me to add or remove something, post it or PM me. Thanks and enjoy! And post your own cabs in this thread and if they're real badass I'll drop them on the server. But they've got to be badass, I gotta keep my quality control up for XDA street cred.
PS: Chainfire RULES so much it's unfair.
EDIT : works now.
hey easy

Thanks for hosting these! Just downloaded about six to try out
Thanks for the Cabs, I'm new to the site and the guys/gals here are seeming amazing, you guys are great. Thanks for all the help..
Your apache interface is nice, but the icons and stuff take up too much room on my screen.
I decided to do what any other sysadmin would do when he hears that a valuable resource might run out of bandwidth -- I mirrored it.

Font size is 50% so I can read it on my phone, white on black so I'm not staring into a lightbulb.
Thank you.
This is a VERY valuable initiative... and actually commenting the cabs earns you my big smile, for what it's worth
Legible, easy, hassle-free.

Well done but oh my god my eyes hurt, the colours are all over the shop
Can anyone give me the pros and cons of using TF3D or not using it? And what the best alternative of it would be and if it is easy to use or could i possibly brick my phone? Help greatly appreciated.
Sorry for my bad English.
The best alternative is the "less pyrotechnics" SPB Mobile Shell 2,
with meteo, battery, GSM status, time, calendar and volume on the same screen.
The program adds 3 scree from which it is accessed the functions of base on the first called now (battery status,e-mail, sms, calls, meteo, net, volume audio and profiles (Vibro, silent or normal), Date and time, appointments and calendar), the second with the links to the programs and six menu setting, multimedia, internet, tool and other configurabile to like, and the last with the telephone contacts with "little face" selection and with access to the list of contacts.
You con slide among the three screen through the touch icon in low of the screen or dragging the finger to dx or sx with various possible effects of glide.
I have also made some personalizations that you can download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2838380&postcount=73
If you need help contact me.
It looks pretty good. Can you give me a link to it? And could you PM me your email address in case I need help with it? Hotmail, yahoo, or AIM would be good.
Link to download it: http://beta.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/

GPS Full Screen Speedometer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speedometer not working? Maybe you're tired of your dimmly lit stick and bars speedometer. Well here's a better, easier, and possibly safer way to maintain and moniter your speed without the extensive work and expensive changes to your vehicle. It's skinnable in many different color choices and easy to use!
Attached Images
Nice find. Works good.
Speedo, lol.
Cool, thanks for this!
Just gave 'er a try - works very well. A bit laggy, but that's the phone's fault. I think it may be fun to play with (maybe I can get a lock in a plane... would look less GPS-ish).
I'm a nerd and like data.
for the on the plane i've used NoniGPS plot and saved the whole plot to KML and can upload to Google Earth. It's pretty neat, because each point that gets tagged shows you the current speed, point on map, elevation, etc. it's really neat.
That's very cool. about to try installing it right now. Next i'll need a g-force meter .)
GREAT!!
I installed this application a week ago and it works very well when you are driving at a steady pace, like on the highway. However, when you are speeding up or driving in traffic it is not accurate, pretty laggy. With that said, I give it a thumbs up for the application. Great app!!!

What happens after 100mph?
Got it to work on my Sprint TPro.. just in time. I need to calibrate my bike speedo. The sprint telenav is too hard to see.
Hopefully this works well to calibrate with my speedo healer.
Nice app, does it also have a function to show KM/h instead of MP/h? And what happens if you do 100+? Does it automatically resize the numbers or will it stick at 99?
Thanks in advance.

Whats the best software you can buy for the pocket pc especially for the fuze / touch pro / diamond.
Freeware is awesome there is a ton of cool stuff out there but unfortunately not many people talk about the things you have to pay for.
Any advice? Price is not an issue, quality is the importance. I am more interested in things that take advantage of the built in gsensor and light sensor but in general I am just wondering what you spend your money on as far as PPC applications go to spruce up your phone.
FlexMail, BeeLineGPS, WMWifiRouter, AEButton Plus, abcTaskMan.
Very good thread to start btw.
I like pretty much everything that has come out of SPB Softwarehouse.
I am very impressed with PocketArtist. Oh and how could we forget CorePlayer?
Coreplayer is very good. Also a lot of people talk about Tom Tom (GPS Software) One of the few programs where you can store the maps on your storage card instead of downloading while you go.
thumbs up for thumbcal! i recommend it...
Thanks for the recommendations I might add one or two of my own:
TomTom 7 is a great program
iGO8 is fantastic with a very sleak GUI
Resco Bubbles is a good game that takes advantage of the g-sensor.
Wifirouter for those times I need to uhm.. Not Tether to my Notebook?
Coreplayer is one of the best fully released media players for PPC.
phoneAlarm - it controls how the phone behaves (profiles), gives you a weather panel, quick launcher, photo dialer and more (top half of screen shot) - all finger friendly
SBSH Pocket Breeze and Pocket weather - because they fit well together (see the bottom half of the screen shot below) - again - finger friendly
Core Player
Pocket Informant - use it as my agenda and contacts application
TouchPal keyboard
List Pro
eWallet
I have always used Pocket Informant
They always update and support their product

BabyMonitor
I'm using the trail version for burglar alarm, and it rocks!
http://www.babymonitor-mobile.com/index.htm
BabyMonitor for Windows Mobile is a software, which allows you to use your smartphone like a burglar alarm. This way, you’ll receive a call if there is a noise in the guarded object.
BabyMonitor comes with noise suppression technology, that can ignore environmental sounds and focuses on the defined noises . This software also silences the phone’s ringer, in order to avoid detecting the smartphone when you get a phone call. Once sound are made, the handset will call a preset number.
Key features of BabyMonitor burglar alarm
1.
Mobility, cheapness, reliability
2.
Unlimited radius of action
3.
Radio noise insensibility
Example
When we leave home for holidays we usually feel nervous about abandoned property. Just place your smartphone in the car or house and if unwanted sounds are detected the handset will call a preset number and you’ll be able to hear what is happening in the guarded object. Remember to turn on power supply to your smartphone when you leave home for a long time.
Sounds interesting but my phone NEVER leaves my side.
Anyone else have a list of programs that you've purchased and rely on to get through your day that have good synergy with the Fuze/Touch Pro. Keep 'em coming it's good to know what programs are good to buy.
b
My list...
WMWiFiRouter...best money ever spent on PPC software
SOTI Pocket Controller...I tried MyMobiler, but this just seems to work better. When in my office, it's nice to be able to access my phone right from my PC
Salling Clicker...kind of a remote control of my laptop from my Fuze...works great when presenting a PowerPoint as I can use my Fuze to step through slides...
SPB Offerings...with the Fuze, I'm using SPB Imageer, Insight (RSSHub is comparable but needs link to download images for offline viewing), Backup and Time (like the snooze on the alarm)...some are better suited for non-TF3D, so considering SecondToday as I miss the standard Mobile screen sometimes...Weather, SPBPocketPlus, etc...all their stuff seems great.
acbTaskManager, SKTools...for diagnostics/troubleshooting, just in case
My best are SKTools, Pocket Breeze & SPB Backup...

Could you guys give brief descriptions of the apps and if possible, links to a reputable seller? Thanks!
Name: JustAnotherMaps
It`s Just Another Maps based on OpenStreetMaps maps data. It does not use Bing maps. This app supports these features:
• Zooming
• Routing
• Searching
• GPS/Cellular/Wi-Fi location.
The main benefit is that OpenStreetMaps have a better map precision and geographical coverage especially in Western Europe, Asia and etc. The trial mode has all features except routing.
This app is built on these projects: OpenStreetMaps, CloudMade, DeepEarth, Nominatim.
Updates:
Version 1.5: Speed up the map downloading process
Version 1.4: Improved multi-touch behavior, added “follow me”, added "route here from my current position", fixed some minor bugs.
Version 1.3: Added a locate me feature and fixed non-US locale issue
Version 1.2: Added a "Locate me" feature.
Version 1.1: Added a "run under lock screen".
Download Link: http://social.zune.net/redirect?type=phoneApp&id=099fddd0-5404-e011-9264-00237de2db9e
Hi tested the test version. Please some things:
Wishes:
- Add a button for center the map to your current position (like in bing maps)
- Add to the test version a way to test the routing (maybe limited to 10 km radius)
- Add a list for "Favourite Places" and a "Home Place" (needed for fast routing)
- Maybe you can get more input here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Android
Corrections:
- If i search for the city "bingen" i get "Ooops something is going wrong. Please restart the application"
- Multiple finger zooming is a little bit slow (hangs)
- Scroll left right with fingers is also little bit slow (compared to ta maps / bing maps)
Conclusion:
Nice work. If i can test routing and it works well i will definetly buy it.
I would love to see your app getting in the future more to a nice little openstreetmap navigation app.
Hi,
thanks for this info its really great that you find a time to add some words on it.
"Locate me" feature will be added in next version right now Im testing it. I will look at scrolling and multitouching zooming.
Is this error message appear everytime you try to search something or only on word "bingen"? On my phone everything is okey with that query as I understand its a city in Germany=)
yes. its only with the word "bingen" and yes ... all the time dont know whats up there!
No problem with "bingen" on my end (paid app).
Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express
Hi all,
I`ve got a user that have a potential error on samsung Omnia with routing. If somebody try to use this application on omnia please replay the feedback here. It would super usefull for me because I dont have such device on hands and cannot test it.
Thanks in advance,
Victor
Hi. I bought your app and will now test routing here in germany a bit.
What really would be a benefit for routing is:
- Map targeting to position your currently driving - walking like a compass.
- To add start position by searching the start (e.g. streetname) or "current position" and also to add end position by searching.
- Could you add something like "current speed" at top right corner?
Thanks for the "locate me" ... it works, but best to add a button or?
Btw. I'am a c# developer for 8 years now. Maybe i can help?
Sounds Good! Probably a silly question but If I am in usa, does the tool load the maps automatically? If I travel to south AMerica or Europe is it the same? Do we store the maps in the main memory or should we use data roaming? Thanks and happy new year
I'm wondering when google and ms stop there noncense and bring out google maps.
tested today routing with my car. really: it makes no sense having routing enabled and not moving the map with current location in centered mode. you do not really want the car driver to push every 10 seconds the "locate me" button, or?
another thing is to fade out the from/to location box on top if you start "routing" ...
Looking forward to hear anything new from your side for further updates.
Just bought your app because it looked promising - especially the routing.
Tested three smaller cities in Germany... each time the app crashes.
- Nordstemmen
- Wankheim
- Langenfeld
Maybe OpenStreetMap does not recognize the cities, i don't know.
But why does the app crashes because of that?
Routing:
Would love to have direct input of start and end.
Right now you can search a position, then point at it on the map and hope, it's correct.
Would also be nice if the map turns in the direction of driving (if this is possible)
Can the app run in the foreground all the time?
Rest is mentioned before.
At the monent the app is unuseable for routing.
I can imagine the hard work you had so far.
I hope you can fix the problems and make your app becomming a cool one.
Sorry for my bumpy english...
Nice job, looks promising. The routing feature is a good think that was missing ! But it needs some improvements. The most important to begin :
- realtime navigation : a step by step navigation, or at least (to begin) a realtime update of the position (like said oOp)...
- distance and time estimation when making a route, with options to choose shorter or faster path.
At the same moment it is on the same level as Bing maps:
1. Can locate me but does not want to use GPS
2. When routed and located does not update to nw position when one is moving
Those two things need to come in ASAP, a indicator when it s using GPS and when GSM location would help for now so I could see if GPS sucks or it does not use it. Second point needs attntion ASAP to make it usable. There was no Bing maps update mentioned for january so you are our last hope.

My big problem is that I can only download free apps from the marketplace or the trial versions. I REALLY, REALLY want to buy your app, also my girlfriend and 2 more friends that have WP7.

I have tried all the things you said but no luck. The only thing that works for me is setting everything to the US so at least I can download free apps.
Regards.

Its strange that you cannot buy the app. I`ve got a few friends in Russia that sucсessfully can buy apps even in Russia the phone is not supported like in Costa Rica.
