I have looked at a few, but nothing really seems to strike my fancy. Ideally something that also allowed for individual SMS tones would be awesome. Any ideas?
Nothing from anyone?

I tried putting custom text message and voice message sounds into my Windows directory, into the rings and directory and I even tried to put them into the My Documents folder on my storage card and no matter what, I can't seem to get them to show up in the notifications sound pull down menu. The only thing that I've seemed to notice is that they are larger than 100kb, but I don't know if that has any bearing on the situation.
I also tried scouring the registry and the most useful thing I found, although I can't seem to make sense of any of it, is at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appriciated.
they have to be wav files. Not mp3.
That's what I used and had no luck getting them to show up in the list of notification sounds.

Is it possible to assign a seperate ringtone for certain contacts? I have trawled through the user manual trying to find anything at on this but it shows nothing. I dont know whether this would require additional software to be installed or not so am looking for any pointers on this. I have tried to search on this subject but each time the results that come back are totally varied and dont mention this issue. Any help much appreciated

if you dont want extra software:
in the contact details, there is a field under mobile tel that says ringtone.
sadly you cant mute or set to vibrate only
but i think there is a prog (iirc phonealarm? someone verify on this please) that will do exactly that.
Yes. Phone alarm will do that. Doesn't do black list yet, but can also do separate tones for contacts SMS's..
Other alternatives....... Photo Contacts Pro (PocketX). Smartfilter Pro (Novosec),
But, as mentioned above, you can assign ringtones to specific contacts.
Hi Toufas, tha's exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks, if thats in the user guide, I must need better specs
i assigned specific ringtones to some of my contacts but its this morning did i realize that the default ringtone still applies whenever those people call.
i have a 6.1 rom. do you guys think this is the problem??
I can recommend Ringo. You can set ringtones to your categories if syncing with outlook, set up specific message tones and customise with your own mp3, wavs etc...
So does "Ringo" or any similar software allow us to create a category of contacts (personal, business) and assign each category a ringtone?
Also, I have recently switched to PocketPCs. I have a Tilt phone running 6.1 cooked ROM. I should say, Nokia phones give a much better profile and call management options than these phones, hands down! Nokia gave me a silent button I could use to mute the ringtone but let the call continue. This is very helpful in case you forgot to switch it to silent and the phone suddenly ring. You don't always have to ignore the call. Can HTC Tilt do something like this?
Also, one more thing I miss is the vibrate + distinct beep sound Nokia phones have. That beep is heard even when you are considerably away from the phone, very nice sound. So I want to create a vibrate profile on HTC Tilt with a sharp beep sound. Can this be done?
Sorry for so many questions in this thread, but simply did not want to create a new one.

My TyTN II used to have a Silence button when I was running Garmin's DK.3 rom... I do not know about his new roms, but since I've started running AthineOS, I have lost the silence button... dont know yet if I personally miss it, but it means that it does exist...
Good day, new here and hoping someone can assist with a question I am unable to find an answer for. I have a touch pro on the Sprint network, I have not cracked it or done much to this phone as I am still very new to this device (retired my Moto Q). The only customization I have done thus far is instal the transparent flip clock.
What I am hoping to do is edit the tone my keypad makes when using the TP as a phone. Right now the only options available when having the phones keypad up under menu>options> keypad is Off, Long tones, and Short tones. What i would like to do is make it more costum, perhaps by using the 'clicking' sound the new BB Storm makes when pressing, really anything but that annoying standard 'beep' or nothing at all.
Sorry if I missed something in the search or wiki, I did look but nothing doing.
Thanks in advance!

search in the reg under HKCU\controlpanel\sounds i think if no luck just search the reg for sounds folder. hope this helps
thanks for your response, i did find the keys, however they can only be changed to another numeric character. The keys are labeled Dtmf0, Dtmf1, Dtmf2, etc for each key. I verified this by changing some of them. So you can set the keys to make the seperate tones, such as making them all sound like your dialing '1', or make '9' have the '2' tone, etc, but I cant find a way to make it use a sound file, any advice? Hope I was clear enough on this.
Thanks again

I was watching tv the other day and out of nowhere thought it would be great to have multiple ring tones that werent set to who called you but random every time there is an incoming call. I tried looking up to see if there was anything but with no luck so i finally decided to make my first thread. I know theres alot of great cooks on this site, i am not one of them but i would love to help make this possible.
If anyone else is lazy like me and doesnt want to set different ring tones for anyone but has a huge list of favorite songs then IMO this would be perfect. Let me know if you found one, or if you are going to try to make a program for one to work. Im not sure exactly how phone programming works but i have programmed a few small robots so im not totally new to this, just not experienced enough to jump right on it myself.
I own the HTC Fuze.
You might want to try my Random Ringtone app?

I have searched with not much luck. Anyone know of any apps that make your notifications repeat until you dismiss them or something similar? I know the Blackberrys have apps like that. Anything for Android? Thanks
there might be a registry tweak for it, but ill search around and let u kno!
This is a feature that I miss that I had on my Behold 2. I work in a noisy environment and a lot of times I cant hear my phone. If there were repeat notifications then maybe I would be able to hear it when I get messages.
Cool thanks. I think this would really help Android. I miss way more reminders with Android vs Blackberry. Still like Android better though
