I want to transfer my ifonz settings from my current Touch Pro onto a new Touch Pro. I really don't want to redo all my settings. Copy to sd card is not doing it. Any help?

but i'm a newbie, i read a lot, but couldn't find a post recommend to my question. also my english isnt very good
my problem: i bought my herald without a memory card. so i installed the apps i found&liked (touchflo,flashlite,kaiserhomeplugin,htc cube clone;total commander;google maps,scitebackup) in the ram of my ppc.
but today i bought a micro sd card. now i would like to move my apps to the card.
questions: can i cut&paste the apps in the folder "programms" to a folder in my card, with the total commender. or isnt this allowed because of the registry or something like that? maybe problem with the .ink files?!
is it better to uninstall all programms. and install them new,this time directly to the sdcard?

you can try copy paste
just like on pc's some will run others will not
though mind you things like today items and other always
running programs should not be put on the sd card
as they are much slower then storage

My SD card runs them as fast as the main memory, but I wouldn't install things that are running all the time in it. So, don't install things like the cube on the card. You should uninstall and reinstall the programs into the proper memory storage. It's easier and less problematic that way.
You can move installed programs between MAIN or SD memory using POCKET MECHANIC (http://www.wizcode.com/)
I moved all the tmobile crap (hotspot login, tzones wap, etc..) and anything else I don't want to get rid of, but I never use onto my SD card.
How will we have to wait for a 10 or 12 gb Micro SD Card
Hi im a noob so I apologize if this is a dumb question. Im runnin Maniila2D and when i get a cab, I drag from my desktop into my storage card folder on my phone and then open it using my phone. Then it asks me if I wanna save it on my device or storage and I always use storage. My question is after I install it, can I delete the actual folder that I dragged into the storage folder or will that affect the app?
Another question on a different subject. I could have sworn I saw this somewhere in here but Ive spent the last 4 hours looking for it. I want to customize the sound my Kaiser makes when I slide it open and slide it close. I want to use an MP3 soundbite instead. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

If you remove the original cab file it is installed the app won't be affected.
I had an mp3 soundbite as my sliding sound and it started to annoy me so I took it off. I don't remember how I did it but I remember finding the solution by searching. so keep at it!!

You can delete the .cab file itself after installation. Somewhere in settings it has the option to do that automatically. I forget where offhand. I always save mine to a folder on my storage card with all my cabs. In case I need to install it again, or I change roms.
The sliding sounds are small .wav files stored in your ?windows folder. This will tell you how to do it , just put your own .wav files in instead of " transformers" .......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=356400&highlight=sliding+sounds

Hi All, i have a question about the micro SD card in my TD2 i have which is 4gig, i have ordered a 16gig SD card as ive run out of space with the apps i currently have installed on my current card. I guess what im asking is how do i go about moving all the data from my current card to my new one when it arrives. Do i use sprite backup tool and will this backup everything as most of my apps are installed on the SD Card, or do i copy everything via windows?......
If someone can shed some light on this for me that would be great
Just wondering if there is an app so when i rotate my screen on my TD2 to landscape that the keyboard automatically appears without having to press the keyboard button everytime, I would prefer the keyboard to appear in landscape and portrait without the need to press the keyboard button. Does anyone know of an app that will allow this?

Leave the structure intact if you have programs installed to SD card and it will be flawless.
You can turn on Auto Deploy in the registry.
I think its in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell...... but search registry for autodeploy and you'll find it.
Otherwise search for Advanced Config which has a setting for this
Hi there. I have had my Nexus One for a week now, and so far im finding it ok - I havent really used it much though. Anyway, I have a few basic questions which are really confusing me, but I know could be simply answered by all you Pro's
Anyway, here is what I want to be able to do. What I want to do is be able to make/select my own Icons to open up applications or folders..
1: Have an Icon/picture of a game controller (or something which symbolises gaming) Then when you click on the Icon it opens a folder full of my games.
2: Have an Icon of something which symbolises Pictures. When you click on the Icon it will open up my gallery.
I Currently have Desktop Visualizer. I know with that you can select a picture and then select what you want to open with that. But I dont know how to make it so that it opens a folder when clicking not an application??
Do I need a different application? Also, Do I download the pictures/Icons on my PC then put them over to my SD Card, or just get them straight on my phone?
Last question, If I want to combine two images (Lets say for example two different types of controllers) into the one image, What software on my pc/application on my phone would I need?

Get Bettercut or FolderOrganizer. Look for them in the market. They will allow you to customize your app's icons and shortcuts. You should read up on how to use it, it's pretty simple so I'm not going to write it here.
The best way is to download and install "icon Packs" apk's (there are so many on here and on the markets, BIG THANKS TO THE MANY CREATIVE PEOPLE OUT THERE.). It works very well with the above apps.
to download pictures/icons on your pc to the sdcard:
1. download ASTRO file manager (free)
2. connect your phone to pc via usb, then turn on connection (make sure you have usb debugging turned on)
3. once you are connected, then your sd card becomes a "removable storage drive" and you can just copy & paste any files from your pc to the card like you would if you had an external drive.
I don't know if you want to use your phone to combine images or pictures. it will be pretty hard with the controls. i would say do it on your pc and then just transfer it over to the phone.

Just a quick question. Running WM7 on HTC HD2 but I can't see my SD card or any settings to get to it.
Is there any obvious setting I've missed.
You won't see it as such as it's effectively incorporated into the WP7 file system. You can tweak your PC's registry to make the device appear in Windows Explorer, which gives you limited access to folders, but you really need to use Zune or email to put files onto the device - the card doesn't work quite like it used to in terms of portable storage.
I understand schapps is working on a WP7 'Device Centre' that may help with some aspects of this - should be released following the forthcoming WP7 update.

After install I only have 64MB of data storage left. Therefore I can't install aps or take pic's etc so looks like Android for me then.

I had the same problem few days agot...
I tried two of my sd cards, and it didn't work, so I bought a new one, and re install my hd2, then it worked...
You can try to reformat the card with SDFormatter, maybe it could help!
But you have to hard reset your phone when you change your sd card.
