Ive asked around and searched pretty throughly, and it doesn't look like anyone has figured this out. So as a a last resort I thought Id ask here. I want to be able to access videos from my sd card on htc album. I know how to do it for videos on my internal memory, but no one seems to know how to configure the directory to access the sd card.
In a related matter Id also like to put the video.lnk on the today screen or start menu, any idea how to do that? (I'll admit I haven't searched that yet so go easy on me if someone has already posted that question a year ago)
Thanks!
Let me get this right. You want to be able to go into the album and click video to show videos on your SD card?
Mine does that, I just have the camera set to save all those things to the SD card.
In the Polaris Upgrading subforum, there is a thread called Polaris Tweaks & tips.
It is described in there how to change it to your SD
(if the solution from the post above mine, doesnt work )
Hey I just discovered that if I want to view my videos in HTC Album I just have to select "videorecording mode" when I have launched the camera and then the play button in the left downside corner to activate HTC Album and voila
If I then want to see my pictures again I just select "camera mode" again and the the "play" button to activate the HTC Album.
This I probably what is mentioned in the previus posts but now I just had to write it too in this thread...

Awesomeness.
Ok, maybe i found the wrong thing, but the posts in the polaris forum did not have what i was looking for. What i've got rite now is an htc album version w/o the directory. I don't want the directory. I have mediahub set up so that cube's video tab opens to htc album video, but of course only the videos on my phone (not my sd card). What i'd like to do is open that htc album (videos) and have it open all video files, or at least all video files on my sd card.
I know it sounds like i'm asking a lot but this is just basic feature (customization) that htc album should have.
Thanks.
I am looking for this too. Anyone found a way for this to happen. My pictures show up fine in camera album from my storage card or internal storage but my videos do not show up in video album unless they are in internal storage only.
Hi,
Anyone know application like HTC Album but better?
An application that can view IMAGES and VIDEOS .. but it is finger friendly, easy to operate (zoom, delete, go back).
HTC Album is ok, but it could not view videos ... and sometimes very hard to zoom (does it really work???).
Thanks.
PocketCM image viewer IMO is the best still image viewer, unfortunately will not preview videos
I used to use HTC album, tried PocketCM picture viewer and liked it, but found it too hard to navigate. It would zoom in when I didn't want it to, change pictures accidently. Now I use A_C's S2V, really like it, quick and easy to zoom in and out with the D-pad.
Hi,
use resco photo explorer
I agree, in my opinion, S2V is the best software to view still images.
I'm not sure if there are any softwares out there made to view still images and videos. I think it's one or the other.
I use right now HTC Album 2 with SJ's Full Player plugin so I can play video directly within. Not the greatest but it will do for now.
I think the best solution is using resco photo explorer
Eyephoto's pretty good too, no video though...
Kinoma Play
I've heard good things about Kinoma Play, http://kinoma.com/play/
Being commercialware, I have yet to try it.
how can i change the sort order in HTC Album?
first image in preview is the last in explorer and so on
i would like to have it sorted upwards

You probably have an old build of HTC Album. The stock build on my HTC Touch Cruise zoomz very easily (via touch screen and jog dial). I once tried an XDA build, but found that gestures would often cause rotation when I wanted to zoom, and zoom when I wanted to rotate.
As for videos, HTC album does preview them, but when you click on it, it opens them in Windows Media Player. Is this the behavior that you experience?
You could try the new HTC album floating around from the Opal/Manilla 2D.
Has anyone else had problems getting album art to display correctly in the HTC music app? Whenever play files that have an embedded album cover, the cover is totally corrupted (just a mass or garbled green/purple/yellow lines).
I added the covers via EasyTag, but I've also tried other tools too. I just can't get the album art to display. I found the following bug report, but it has no solution (tried eyeD3, I just get the same behaviour):

Anyone have any ideas?
had that on one albumart, just a black/white picture, looks somewhat like a qr-code from the market in a stretched version.
Hello,
I'm not too sure if my problem is a unique one. I have searched the forums and most threads, if not all, that I managed to find dealt with trying to get album art to display on their HTC Diamonds. If you find that my problem has indeed been answered previously, I would very much appreciate a link to a thread where I may find my answer, thank you.
My problem here is slightly different: for a single mp3 file, the TF3D player displays a different cover from anywhere else (Windows Explorer, WMP, Winamp, mp3tag). Allow me to give some background info on this:
I have embedded my mp3s with their respective album arts. Every song displayed properly with its album art in the TF3D player previously, since the first day I bought my phone back in July 2009. However, recently (about a couple weeks ago) when I uploaded a Korean song, the entire library of album art has been wiped out in the TF3D player and all songs now display that album art of this Korean song.
Here is what I have done to troubleshoot:
1) I copied out all my mp3's to my laptop. In Windows Explorer, the original cover art is displayed. I opened the files with mp3tag in hope of retagging them, but I found the original cover art there too. I played the files in Winamp, and the cover art is correct as well.
2) I opened the files using File Explorer on my Diamond. It launched in WMP and the cover art was displayed properly there as well.
3) I deleted all the files on my Diamond and recopied just one single file (say, a Beyonce song) into the Diamond. It still displays with the Korean cover art.
4) I tried the solution of deleting the HTC folder under Application Data, while maintaining the Beyonce song as the only song in my phone. Cover art goes blank for a while while it loads... then back to Korean cover art.
5) I have flashed my ROM, did a clean format with MTTY. Still Korean cover art. If it helps, I am running the Gen.Y D2 R5.4 ROM which has HTC Sense 2.1.
From 1) and 2), it seems that the original cover art has not really been replaced by the Korean one, since the real one can still be displayed via other means.
And since cover arts have been displaying properly for the past half a year that I've been using my phone, I would say it should be safe to eliminate the possibility that I am embedding my tags wrongly.
So would anyone have any idea why this is happening, please?
Thank you for your time in reading my lengthy post!
Check your global file associations on your device for all mp3 or audio files using something like Schaps Advanced Config that will show those. It sounds like this cover art has been set as the default somehow.
I'm sorry -- what am I supposed to check using that? For my Diamond, the mp3 files have WMP as their default player.
By the way, if it helps, I am using the Gen.Y D2 R5.4 ROM which has HTC Sense 2.1.

If you run Adv. Config. click on the right softkey and select file associations and make sure your mp3s are associated with wmp or the player of your choice. See if there might be anything there that might give any insight as to why you are having this issue.
It could be a bug with the rom you are using. You could flash your stock rom at least twice then flash back to the custom rom of your choice.
The .mp3 extension is associated with WMP. I'm not too sure if file associations would cause this issue because I am opening the mp3's with the TF3D player... by doing so, I am already opening it from a specific player... it would not matter which program opens it "by default", would it?
Is formatting with MTTY equivalent to flashing the stock ROM? Because I've been flashing my ROM quite a few times over the past week and I don't want to flash anymore. =) But this problem came in before I started using the current ROM (I loaded the Korean song, messed up the stuff, and then flashed my ROM)...
Anyway, my deepest appreciation for your help so far mr.horndoctor! Thank you!

Yeah, I think you're right about the file associations. Sorry. Hmm...I honestly don't know about the mtty format since I am cdma but you've definitely got something embedded in your manila files causing this. That's why I was thinking flashing the shipped rom should overwrite everything. Then if you have all traces of that cover art gone from your music before you reinstall it to your device, it shouldn't resurface. I'm glad I'm not in your shoes! Good Luck Friend!!
Are those apps available as a seperate download, the Sony music and photo gallery on the 1 ii?
Sony music is there. Album app is discontinued and replace by google photo.

I think Album can be downloaded from Google Play Store
Can you please confirm if my comment right ?
It can't be found in Play Store, so you can't install it. If you find it through Play Store on Chrome you can't install it because it is not compatible.
I've got this issue too. I've tried taking the album apk from xperia 5 and it installed on my new 1 ii but force closed whenever I opened it. Does anyone know of a way to get it working? I really miss the old album app
I've got the same problem....would like a Sony video player as well, do they make one?
Look for Sony cross device section and install an universal apk.
